From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 266: I Don’t Know Which Psycho Bought 1,000 Copies of the Magazine
"I want to buy five copies!"
"I want to buy ten copies!"
But on the first day *Science* went on sale in the country, the students from the School of Physics discovered they couldn’t get their hands on a copy at all!
"Did you get a copy of *Science*? I checked online and at the bookstores, but they’re all sold out!"
"How many copies were released in the country? Why couldn’t I buy one?"
"Didn’t these journals usually just pile up, unable to sell? What’s going on today?"
"LMAO, forget you guys from the School of Physics. No one in our School of Mathematics could get one either."
"A professor just posted on his social media asking if anyone managed to get a copy of today’s *Science* or *Mathematics Annual Journal*."
The professor couldn’t get one either?
Now, the students from Emberfall University’s School of Physics and School of Mathematics were all stunned.
Because *Science* and *Mathematics Annual Journal* were on sale in the country today, they had been waiting at several bookstores outside the campus since early this morning.
But the bookstore clerks told them they were sold out!
Sold out!
You have to understand, it wasn’t like these journals had never been sold before. But aside from people from the schools occasionally buying a copy or two to browse, who else would ever buy them?
"What on earth is going on? I just saw both official websites restock, but they sold out again in an instant!"
The two journals didn’t have a large circulation in the country. Even if sales were booming, they couldn’t just print tens of thousands of new copies in a short time.
Suppressing their confusion, everyone flocked to forums and social media to ask for help and find out what was happening.
After asking around for a while, they finally learned it was because Chloe Sinclair’s image as the comeback scholar had become so deeply ingrained in people’s minds. Because of this, many parents had stayed up until midnight to snag the latest issues from the official websites.
The parents who couldn’t get one online went to the bookstores early in the morning to grab a copy.
And that was why the students and faculty of Emberfall University couldn’t buy a journal today.
Chloe Sinclair was still in the lab calibrating the streaming fusion reactor when she heard her colleagues talking about it, and she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
She said, deadpan, "Buying the journal isn’t going to help their kids get better grades. I think they’d have better luck forwarding lucky koi posts on social media."
Her colleague, a man in his forties, heard Chloe Sinclair’s words and couldn’t help but look at her with a hint of resentment.
"My daughter couldn’t get a copy of *Science* at midnight, so she kicked me out of bed at five this morning and made me go wait at the campus bookstore. She told me not to come back until I bought one."
As a veteran doting father, the man felt a little melancholic.
He couldn’t help but vent his frustrations to Chloe Sinclair, saying, "I have a Ph.D. from Emberfall University, you know. I was even lucky enough to be featured in *Science* a few years ago, and I don’t remember her getting this excited back then."
The old father’s heart was instantly shattered to smithereens.
Upon hearing this, Chloe Sinclair stared at the man, her dark eyes unblinking.
She saw the dark circles under his thick-rimmed glasses.
Seeing his miserable expression, she ventured a guess. "Fletcher, were you able to buy a journal today?"
When Fletcher heard this, his face immediately scrunched up in misery.
"The nearby bookstores were all sold out. I had to ask someone to check for me out of town."
"If I can’t get one, I’m pretty sure I’m really not allowed back home."
As he spoke, a flash of anger crossed Fletcher’s face. "And I have no idea what kind of psycho bought a thousand copies first thing in the morning!"
Chloe Sinclair: "..."
A wild thought occurred to her.
After a moment of silence, Chloe Sinclair spoke slowly, her voice gentle. "Fletcher, the international publisher sent me a lot of sample copies. If you need one, I can give you one."
The moment Fletcher heard this, the anger on his face vanished instantly. He looked at Chloe Sinclair as if she were his savior.
