Gacha System- I Inherited Dual Cultivation Legacy
Chapter 10: Fools and a Trap
Few Minutes Ago;
"What was that?"
Billy shouted in shock as he watched a large club striking the entrance of the cave.
"It’s a Four-Arm Giant Beast. It’s an Adult Beast. We can’t win against someone like that."
Yuna spoke with some urgency in her tone.
"Wait, how are we going to leave then?"
The smarter one among them didn’t think about the inheritance instead about their exit.
After all, if they couldn’t even leave, what’s the point of having inheritance?
"If all of us reach the Ninth Stage of Qi Sea Realm, we will be able to distract it long enough to escape."
"But if we can’t even find the inheritance, we will all die here."
Yuna explained.
Hearing that, others nodded. After going through so much, they had basic trust among each other.
The smart one took out a shield. Holding the shield, he said.
"It’s better to take out your trump card right now than later. If you become too greedy and try to save them, you might not even get a chance to use them."
"By the way, Miss Yuna, do you know about the traps in this cave?"
"Carlos, you are too cautious."
Billy spoke speechlessly.
"Billy, listen to him!"
The woman wearing a pink skirt suggested, while pulling out a mini crossbow that could be tied to her hand.
"Even you are supporting him, Becky?"
Billy pouted but eventually took out three talismans.
"All of you have High-Grade weapons and talismans, but I only have a mid-grade weapon."
Another one took out a large hammer and sighed.
"Did you forget me?"
The other one rolled his eyes and took out metal claws, placing them above his knuckles.
Yuna also took out an umbrella, but when it appeared, they instantly gasped.
"Top-Grade Weapon! I’ve only seen Foundation Established cultivators hold this level of weapon."
"Miss Yuna, you must be rich. Why do you need to compete for a Golden Core cultivator’s inheritance?"
While others were marveling at her weapon, Billy asked a silly question.
Everyone gave him a pitiful look.
Carlos even patted Becky on the shoulder and said.
"If you ever realize he is not suitable for you, you can come and find me."
"Damn it, Carlos! Don’t take advantage of my girl!"
Billy roared, not even realizing his own foolishness.
Becky sighed. She fell in love with Billy because of his heroic rescue, but now she was starting to regret it.
"I don’t know much about this cave. I only know the treasures of Golden Core will be huge."
Yuna shook her head and lied without even blinking her eyes.
Carlos paused but didn’t say anything. After coming this far, he didn’t want to cause any conflict between them.
Especially after seeing her weapon, he was even more afraid of her.
After all, although he asked everyone to take out their trump card, he was pretty sure nobody actually listened.
Not even Billy, who seemed silly.
As they made their way inside the cave, Yuna suddenly backed away, pulling four of them using her Qi.
Although she tried to pull the other two as well, her Qi didn’t reach them.
Splash! Splash!
Several metal spikes pierced through the bodies of those two cultivators. Their blood splattered everywhere.
Without even realizing what just happened, two of them died in the cave.
"W-wh-what?"
Billy froze. His body started shaking in fear. He almost broke down in tears.
If he wasn’t a cultivator who had taken quite a few lives, he would’ve cried.
"Miss Yuna, thank you so much!"
Carlos controlled his emotions. The death of these two cultivators didn’t faze him. His partner was still alive.
On the other hand, he also realized that if Yuna wanted to kill them, she could’ve just let them be riddled with holes.
At this moment, he let go of any guard against her.
"My senses are strong; otherwise, we wouldn’t be alive. From now on, start throwing something every two meters."
Yuna nodded her head and coldly replied.
Although her voice hadn’t changed, everyone no longer cared about her cold tone. To them, she was their savior.
Soon, they continued moving forward.
Just to check, there was another trap in that same place; they even threw a large stone there.
There was no trap. They walked past those corpses and continued moving towards the center of the cave.
They kept throwing small and big stones. They even tried throwing their weapons just to pick them up later.
Suddenly, Yuna grabbed Carlos’ and Becky’s hands before jumping forward.
At this moment, the ground split in half, and two of the cultivators were pulled down. Both sides of the walls had spikes.
Splash! Splash!
The moment those walls closed in, both were crushed in the middle, with spikes piercing through their bodies.
Yuna landed with Carlos and Becky in her hands.
"Billy!"
Becky turned back, roaring as she tried to go back and help her lover. But the moment they landed, the ground had already closed up.
Carlos quickly caught her hand, pulling her close as he looked at Yuna and asked.
"What just happened? Why didn’t we trigger that trap?"
Yuna shook her head.
"I don’t know. If I had been here, I wouldn’t have returned. But now I am sure of one thing. These traps work based on the life force of a person."
"That means there is a special array placed inside the cave. That makes sense considering the golden barrier we just saw at the entrance."
"It also makes sense why, despite having this map, nobody has ever been able to find this inheritance and make a name for themselves."
"Name for themselves?"
Carlos paused and asked.
"Wait, you know about this Golden Core cultivator? Can you tell us more about him?"
Yuna nodded her head.
"He is a very well-known person from three thousand years ago. His name, as you already know, is Jack."
"He is said to have awakened a powerful Lightning physique alongside having a lightning attribute spiritual root of Spirit Rank."
"Because of this, he was able to reach the Golden Core Realm at the age of forty, which was unheard of in our country."
"But due to his explosive personality, he had made quite a lot of enemies. During one of the inheritance sites, he killed the son of the True Grandmaster."
"After that, he disappeared alongside the inheritance of that place. It was only five hundred years ago when the map of this treasure was found."
"But even then, nobody could get this treasure, and since he had offended the True Grandmaster, his name was quickly forgotten by the people."
"So, nobody knew this was his treasure. Many entered this cave, but nobody returned alive, so I have been gathering information about this place."
Hearing that, Carlos asked.
"So, you still want to continue?"
Yuna nodded.
"Wait, what is Grandmaster? What do you mean by Spirit Rank Spiritual Root?"
Becky, confused by the terms Yuna used, quickly shouted.
"I will explain it later. First, do you want to continue? By the way, I can’t guarantee that those traps will not appear again."
Yuna ignored her and looked at Carlos.
Carlos thought for a moment and nodded.
"Yes, I want to continue. If we get this treasure, our chances of survival will be high. I haven’t forgotten the Adult Beast outside the cave."
Hearing that, Becky, who was hesitating for a moment, immediately nodded.
So, they continued walking towards the center while Yuna started explaining.
"Spiritual Roots are divided into four ranks, and each rank is divided into four grades. Normally, people of this state only awaken a Mortal Rank spiritual root, so the higher rank has been forgotten."
"The same goes for the titles. Qi Sea Realm cultivators are called low-level cultivators. Foundation Established cultivators are called Daoist."
"It is often formal to call others using Daoist names rather than their names, even if you know them. Then, Golden Core Cultivators are called seniors."
"Even if you are at the Golden Core Realm, unless your cultivation is higher than theirs, you must call them seniors."
"Of course, for lower-level cultivators, you can’t call a Foundation-Established cultivator Fellow Daoist. You must call the seniors as well."
"Finally, Nascent Soul Cultivators are called True Grandmasters. Beast cultivators have Grandmaster at this realm, so humans used this title."
"But True is added for humans, while for monsters, they are simply called Beasts unless you are weaker than them."
"Otherwise, even if they are beasts, you must call them Lord. Of course, this will only be useful if you survive this place."
Just as she said that, she turned sideways, and two energy arrows pierced through their chests.
Two more energy arrows appeared, but this time she had already predicted their position and ducked.
Another two arrows were shot from another direction, but just like before, she seemingly predicted their position and dodged in advance.
Only at this moment did those two realize she was talking so much to distract them from those attacks.
They were following a poisonous viper all along.
