Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes
Chapter 434: Gifts
Before the chaos could escalate further... Knock.
The door opened, and Lucy stepped in. She froze.
Her eyes widened as she took in the scene.
Lana stood there, her silver hair completely disheveled, strands sticking out in every direction. Mr. Crow, on the other hand, looked noticeably... thinner.
There was an awkward silence.
Lucy coughed lightly, trying to maintain composure. "Axel wants to meet you tomorrow."
Lana blinked, immediately straightening up. "What? Why didn’t he tell me himself?"
"He’s busy with meetings," Lucy replied calmly. "He asked you to come to the Four Seasons Hotel. Room 403."
Lana nodded, not suspecting anything. ’If it’s from him, it should be fine...’
The next day.
Lana stood in front of the hotel room door, a faint unease settling in her chest.
Pushing it open, she stepped inside... and froze.
The room was beautifully decorated, soft light illuminating countless flowers arranged elegantly around the space.
The air was filled with the delicate fragrance of lilies... her favorite.
"...What is this?"
Her gaze shifted toward the center of the room, where a large curtain stood, hiding whatever lay behind it.
Several objects were placed around, all covered neatly with red cloth.
Confusion flickered across her face. Then...
"Go ahead... walk inside."
The voice brushed against her ears. Lana’s entire body stiffened.
’Lucian...?’
Her heart skipped. Taking a slow breath, she stepped forward.
The door behind her clicked shut. She didn’t turn back.
"Open the first one placed on the table covered with red cloth," the voice guided gently.
Lana glanced around, murmuring under her breath, "Everything is covered in red cloth..."
Still, she reached out and lifted one. Underneath was a small, elegant box.
Her curiosity piqued, she picked it up and opened it. Inside...a car key.
She froze.
"That car you’ve been using..." Lucian’s voice echoed softly, "it’s yours now."
A helpless smile curved her lips, warmth spreading through her chest.
"Thank you... boss," she said lightly.
There was a pause.
Then his voice returned, softer this time. "I’m not your boss anymore."
A faint smile tugged at her lips as she let out a small chuckle. "Right... my boyfriend."
She rolled the word on her tongue, as if savoring it.
"Go left," he continued. "There’s another one."
Excitement bubbled inside her as she moved quickly, pulling away the next red cloth.
This time, it revealed a much larger box... almost twice the size of a football.
Her brows furrowed slightly as she opened it.
The moment she saw what was inside...she froze.
Inside the box lay an overwhelming collection of treasures.
Gold gleamed under the soft lighting, but it didn’t stop there.
Nestled carefully beside it were opal diamonds, deep and mysterious, along with rare pink diamonds, radiant blue diamonds, and pristine white diamonds that sparkled like frozen starlight.
There were also pieces of white gold, polished to perfection, exuding a quiet, luxurious glow.
The moment Lana took it all in, her breath hitched.
’This... this is insane...’
Her eyes widened slightly as she tried to estimate the value.
Even with her experience, she could only arrive at one conclusion... this single box was worth millions of dollars, possibly more.
Taking a slow breath, she was about to close it, her fingers brushing against the lid...clink.
She paused.
"...Hmm?"
A faint jingle echoed, subtle but distinct. Her brows furrowed as curiosity crept in.
She tapped lightly on the upper layer of the box, her fingers tracing along the edges.
’There’s something... hidden?’
Carefully, she pressed and slid the top layer.
It shifted.
The moment it slid open, something far more breathtaking revealed itself beneath.
A heavy piece of imperial green jade jewelry rested inside. Lana froze.
’When... did he even prepare something like this...?’
Her fingers hovered above it, not daring to touch immediately.
This wasn’t just any jade... it was the finest kind, the kind collectors would fight over, the kind that could easily fetch tens of millions of dollars... and only grow more valuable with time.
She exhaled slowly, still staring.
"Boyfriend..." she murmured softly, a helpless smile forming, "you’re being too generous. Now I feel petty."
A soft chuckle echoed through the room.
"You shouldn’t feel that way," Lucian’s voice replied gently. "Everything I have... is yours."
Lana couldn’t help it. She laughed.
It wasn’t restrained or polite... it was genuine, bright.
Meanwhile, flying in the air, Mr. Crow watched everything unfold.
For once, he had nothing to say.
’This bad wolf... really won in the end,’ he thought, his gaze shifting toward Lana, who was still smiling without a care in the world.
’She has no idea... how long he’s been watching her... waiting for this moment...’
He let out a quiet breath. ’And now... he’s finally claiming her.’
Just then, Lana tilted her head slightly, as if sensing something else.
Her attention shifted.
She walked toward the right side of the room, her steps slow but curious, until she stopped in front of another large object, once again covered with a red cloth.
Pulling it away, she revealed something that resembled a shelf. "Hm...?"
Lowering herself slightly, she examined it.
And then...she froze.
The shelf was filled with materials... rare, precious, and unmistakably meant for talisman crafting.
Special woods, aged and refined; rare ores infused with spiritual energy; jade pieces of varying quality; shimmering crystals; finely crafted brushes; stacks upon stacks of talisman paper.
Everything. And not just anything... the best of everything.
There were enough materials here to create countless high-grade talismans.
For a moment, Lana couldn’t speak.
A low chuckle followed.
"Remember this," Lucian’s voice came again, calm yet firm. "From now on, if you ever make talismans... I’ll provide you with the best materials."
Lana didn’t respond immediately.
Instead, she reached out, picking up a piece, inspecting its texture, its density.
Her eyes sharpened slightly as she evaluated each item with care.
Only after confirming everything did she straighten up.
"If I use these," she said, her tone turning serious, "I’ll return the material cost... and give you thirty percent of the profit."
