Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes
Chapter 463: Liar
"W-Why?" he asked, his voice slightly unsteady.
The coin moved again.
D... I... E...
"Die."
For a moment, York felt as if his heart had stopped. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Yet he forced out an awkward laugh, his voice trembling. "Haha... what a joke... spirits sure have a sense of humor..."
He quickly turned to Tyler, his face pale. "Young Master, why don’t you ask something?"
Tyler glanced at the empty air, his expression turning serious. "If you intend to kill us... when will it happen?"
Silence followed. The coin remained still for what felt like an eternity.
Then... it moved.
N... O...
"No."
Everyone exhaled in relief. But Aiden did not.
A strange voice echoed faintly in his mind. ’Ask... ask the right question...’
Before he could stop himself, he spoke.
"If you’re not going to kill us... then who will?"
The moment the words left his mouth, everyone turned to look at him in confusion.
’What kind of question is that?’ their expressions seemed to say.
The coin trembled.
Then it began to move again.
A... N... O... T... H... E... R... G... H... O... S... T...
"Another ghost... watching you."
The moment the sentence formed, a wave of cold terror swept through them.
Their breath hitched. Their skin prickled. The priest reacted instantly.
He pulled out the holy water and began sprinkling it around frantically.
Sizzle. Sizzle. Sizzle.
The sound echoed repeatedly. This time, it was unmistakable. There wasn’t just one presence. There were multiple.
"If not for that question..." Aiden thought, his throat dry, ’we wouldn’t have known...’
Fear gripped them tightly.
Emily instinctively clutched the protective amulet around her neck, her fingers trembling slightly.
Tyler did the same, his earlier confidence fading.
York swallowed hard, regret flashing in his eyes. ’I should’ve bought a better amulet...’ he thought bitterly. The one he had could only protect him from spirits up to fifty years old.
Compared to them, Aiden felt even more terrified.
The talisman in his hand burned like fire. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
It claimed to handle spirits up to one hundred and fifty years old... but could he really trust it?
The priest, on the other hand, was only capable of dealing with a hundred-year-old spirit.
They had come here with confidence because they had already confirmed, through official channels, that no spirit older than a hundred years existed here.
But now... even the priest couldn’t detect everything.
That meant something was wrong.
Very wrong.
The priest’s face darkened as he turned to Tyler and Emily.
"It would be best if we leave immediately," he said, his voice firm, carrying a rare hint of urgency.
Hearing the priest’s urgent warning, Tyler fell silent for a moment.
After a brief pause, he nodded slowly. "We should leave," he said, his voice low but firm.
Emily, however, didn’t agree.
Her eyes flickered with determination as she said, "We should finish the remaining questions. If we stop midway, the spirit might get offended."
The moment her words faded into the heavy air... the coin began to move.
It scraped softly against the paper, the sound unnaturally loud in the silence.
H... E... I... S... O... F... F... E... N... D... E... D...
"He is offended."
A chill ran down everyone’s spine.
Aiden, however, suddenly laughed, the sound echoing oddly in the stillness. "If he’s offended," he said, tilting his head slightly toward the empty air, "then what does he want?"
For a brief moment, the others stared at him strangely.
’Has he already been possessed...?’ the thought crossed their minds almost simultaneously.
But Aiden himself felt oddly calm.
For some reason, deep inside, he knew.
’This one... isn’t dangerous. Just playful,’ his instincts whispered.
The coin moved again. M... E... A... T...
"Meat."
The livestream chat instantly burst into laughter, comments flooding in.
"Even ghosts are foodies now!"
"Feed the ghost first! It looks cute asking for food."
Seeing those reactions flash across the screen, Aiden couldn’t help but glance into the empty darkness again. "So... how can we leave safely after this?" he asked.
The coin trembled before moving again.
T... A... L... I... S... M... A... N...
"Talisman."
For a moment, no one understood.
Then, all eyes turned toward Aiden. Toward the talisman burning in his hand.
Tyler’s gaze sharpened instantly. "I’ll buy that talisman," he said without hesitation. "One million dollars."
Aiden’s eyes widened in shock. He waved his hand quickly, forcing a laugh. "The ghost must be joking," he said.
But as if denying him... The coin slid. N... O...
"No." Aiden fell silent.
Emily’s expression turned serious, her eyes narrowing as she looked at him. "Did you arrange this?" she asked coldly. "Did you hire someone to manipulate this whole act?"
York frowned, then shook his head. "That’s unlikely," he said. "No streamer would risk their life for something like this."
But Tyler wasn’t convinced.
He let out a cold chuckle and looked at Aiden with disdain.
"I knew people could stoop low," he said, "but I didn’t expect someone to be this shameless. Who sold you that talisman? And why are you promoting it so desperately?"
The priest stepped forward, adding fuel to the fire. "Indeed," he said, his tone firm, "this talisman is corrupt. If it were real, he would have handed it over already. In fact, I suspect it might even be cursed."
The moment those words fell... the coin jerked violently.
L... I... A... R...
"Liar."
Everyone froze. Their eyes slowly shifted toward the priest.
For a second, he was speechless.
Then he forced a stiff smile. "Now even the ghost is calling you a liar," he said, trying to maintain composure.
But the coin moved again.
Y... O... U... L... I... A... R...
"You liar."
The livestream exploded.
Comments flooded in, some shocked, some thrilled.
"This is insane!"
"Even the ghost is exposing him!"
The priest’s face turned red with anger. "The spirit is trying to mislead everyone!" he snapped.
By now, Tyler’s expression had turned grim.
He stared at the priest sharply. "What is going on?" he demanded.
