Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes
Chapter 468: Rescued -2
She then glanced at the time, her expression turning slightly serious.
"It’s already late," she said. "We should leave immediately. If more ghosts gather here, things could become troublesome."
Her words were not exaggerated.
’Even at my current level... dealing with multiple two-hundred-year-old ghosts won’t be easy,’ she thought. ’That last fight alone took a quarter of my energy.’
She still had strength left, but not enough to guarantee absolute safety if another group appeared.
’Leaving now is the safest option.’
Hearing her warning, all four of them nodded without hesitation.
None of them wanted to stay even a second longer.
As they began to move, an awkward yet desperate scene unfolded.
One by one, they instinctively tried to stay close to Lana.
Tyler and the others subtly reached for the edge of her sleeve, as if afraid she might disappear at any moment.
Emily, however, was far bolder.
Without hesitation, she gently hooked her little finger around Lana’s pinky.
’I’ll be fine... she won’t push me away,’ Emily thought, a small sense of comfort blooming inside her.
She had noticed it earlier; Lana seemed to dislike physical contact from boys, but she hadn’t shown the same reaction toward her.
For the first time in her life, Emily felt oddly grateful to be a girl.
Holding onto Lana’s pinky, she felt her trembling gradually subside.
Soon, they made their way out of the cemetery.
Even after stepping outside, their limbs were still shaking from the lingering fear.
Tyler glanced at Lana and asked hesitantly, "How... how are we getting out of here?"
In response, Lana took out a talisman.
It looked slightly different from the one Aiden had used, but there was a clear resemblance.
Aiden’s eyes widened. ’This... this is similar to the one I bought...’
A realization struck him.
’Is she... the shop owner?’
Tyler, still confused, asked, "What kind of talisman is that?"
Lana didn’t answer. Instead, she flicked her wrist.
The talisman shot forward and struck her body, and in the next instant, she vanished.
All four of them recoiled in shock, stepping back instinctively as their eyes widened in disbelief.
"W-What just?!"
Before panic could set in, they spotted her again... standing at a distance, completely unharmed.
Silence fell over them. ’Teleportation...?’
Their minds struggled to process what they had just witnessed. ’Just who... is she?’
Tyler swallowed hard, then spoke with urgency, "I’ll pay you! One hundred million dollars, just get me out of here safely!"
Emily immediately raised her hand.
"I’ll pay too! Two hundred million!"
Lana looked at them, her eyes flickering with mild interest.
"Alright," she said simply. "I’ll take you out safely and drop you home. But I don’t know your exact locations, so I’ll first take you to a public transport point."
Relief washed over Tyler and Emily instantly.
"Thank you... thank you so much," Tyler breathed.
Meanwhile, York and Aiden exchanged a glance.
Aiden suddenly spoke up, "I’ll promote your talismans on my account!"
Yorka nodded quickly. "Same here."
Lana blinked for a moment.
’Three hundred million... and two promotions? That’s... unexpected.’
She hadn’t come here for profit.
Yet somehow, she had gained far more than she anticipated.
"Deal," she said.
She extended her hand.
This time, despite her earlier warning, all of them carefully held onto her, hesitant, but desperate.
Lana suppressed the faint discomfort that rose within her.
’Just for now...’
She activated the teleportation talisman.
In an instant, the world around them twisted.
The cold cemetery vanished.
They reappeared in a completely different location until finally, they arrived at a suburban bus station.
Soon, they found themselves seated at the central bus station of Xila City. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The tension that had been holding them together finally snapped.
One by one, they collapsed onto the seats, their bodies giving in to exhaustion.
Tears welled up in their eyes.
York clutched his chest, breathing heavily. Tyler leaned back, his hands still shaking. Emily wiped her face, unable to stop the tears.
They had lost things. Phones, talismans, protective artifacts worth fortunes. But none of it mattered.
They were alive.
Lana watched the scene unfold in front of her, the four of them clinging to each other, laughing and crying at the same time, their voices overlapping in relief, and she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
’Weren’t they barely getting along before?’ she thought, glancing at them with mild curiosity. ’Now they’re acting like siblings who survived something together.’
Shaking her head slightly, she checked the time on her phone and spoke in a calm tone.
"The next bus will arrive in about an hour."
She had barely finished her sentence when Tyler suddenly raised his hand, his movements quick and eager.
"If you can just lend me a phone," he said, his voice filled with urgency,
"I can call my chauffeur. Once we’re in the car, I’ll personally make sure everyone gets home safely."
"You saved my life," he added, his voice softening. "You’re... you’re my savior."
Lana let out a quiet chuckle, amused by his dramatic tone.
"Alright," she replied casually. "Let’s go with that plan."
Without hesitation, she handed him her phone.
Tyler quickly dialed a number, his fingers still trembling slightly from the lingering fear. His voice steadied as he spoke to the person on the other end, giving precise instructions.
It didn’t take long.
A sleek car pulled up, its headlights cutting through the dim surroundings.
The driver stepped out and froze.
His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Tyler.
’I... I saw this... on the live stream...’
The horrifying image of Tyler being in danger flashed through his mind. He had been certain that his young master wouldn’t survive.
He hadn’t even dared to call the head of the family, afraid of being blamed or dismissed. Yet when he received the call earlier, claiming to be Tyler, he had hesitated.
’It sounded like him... but how could it be?’
And now... Tyler was standing right in front of him. Alive.
The driver’s composure shattered instantly.
"Young master!" he cried, his voice trembling as tears filled his eyes.
