The door to the guild hall swung open. A figure entered the hall. Several stared at him.

Kailen Darkhaven. The Reaper.

There were glints of envy and admiration in the eyes of several individuals. Kailen stared at the Premium Ranking List. Surprise flickered in his eyes. He had not expected to get into the top ten.

"Well, it all worked out for the best. I should find the principle fragment tower," Kailen thought. He proceeded towards the counter on the ground floor. The receptionist he saw was different from the one who performed his assessment.

"The previous one must have been promoted," Kailen thought.

"Hello, I would like to have access to the principle fragment tower of the guild." The moment Kailen spoke, the receptionist nodded.

"Get to the third floor of the building, sir; proceed towards the left wing. The rest of the process is simple," she said warmly, admiration flickering through her eyes. Her hair swayed in a seductive manner.

Kailen noticed she was trying to send obvious signals. However, he didn’t pay attention to that. He simply thanked her and headed towards the elevator.

"He didn’t even look at me. Is this guy a block of wood or something?" The elven receptionist sighed and shook her head, then returned to her work.

Kailen entered the elevator. Very soon, he got to the third floor of the guild. The third floor was very quiet. The place was not rowdy like the first floor. There were no offices here either. It was just a very large space.

The right wing was a large lobby where several on the Premium Ranking List who had just come out of the principle fragment tower could be seen relaxing and ordering some delicacies for themselves. The place was like a bar and restaurant. Some sort of jazz music was playing there and laughter filled the place.

When he appeared here, he proceeded towards the left wing of the place. The others saw him.

"Is that him?"

"The new tenth ranked?"

"Yeah, it’s him. Kailen Darkhaven. The Reaper. Damn. I remember how he killed those people. He’s the reason why I decided to leave the battlefield during the altercation for the principle fragments."

"Tenth ranked gets five straight months in the principle fragment tower, right? After that, they have to wait two weeks before they can enter it again."

"I wonder how strong he will be when he comes out."

"Let’s make bets with gold coins..."

As the transcendents chatted among themselves, Kailen appeared before a very large door. Kailen had read on principle fragment towers. The chaotic region of the universe had natural places where principle fragments bloomed and existed. Principle fragment towers were monuments built around these places so that the principle fragments that existed in these regions could be naturally monopolized.

The Dawnseer Guild was not the only organization that had one. Several powerful organizations spread in the chaotic region of the universe also had some. However, the quality of the principle fragment towers differed based on the prestige of the organization.

For instance, the principle fragment tower of the Dawnseer Guild could not be compared even a little bit to the principle fragment tower of an organization like the Venzula Empire Academy. As for the Venzula Empire Academy, Kailen had already made plans to enroll there.

Naturally, he knew about the National Guild Union competition. He had investigated through intelligence channels that those who obtained first place in the whole nation will obtain a slot into the Venzula Empire Academy. Kailen had naturally targeted the first place. To be eligible to participate in the National Guild Union competition, one had to be a Rank 3 novice-stage transcendent to register.

Kailen was planning on becoming a Rank 3 novice-stage transcendent before the competitions began. After these thoughts flashed through Kailen’s mind in a moment, he went through the large door.

He appeared in a very large misty space. The large misty space had principle fragments stretching for as far as the eye could see. The principle fragments stretched up, down, left, and right. They were everywhere. The place was very silent as several transcendents had formed connections with principle fragments and were quietly attaining deeper comprehension of their principle from the principle fragments.

Someone sat near a principle fragment of ice and tried to form a connection with it. The moment the person tried, it did not work. The person sighed and muttered to herself, "Seems like someone made a connection to it. Their time in the principle fragment tower was up, and they left. They will return to continue comprehending it from where they left off. I should find another one."

The person noticed Kailen. "If you are looking for a space principle fragment, go to the southern part of the tower."

Kailen turned to look at her. "Thank you," he said warmly and bolted off.

The lady felt very giddy and almost squealed, "The Reaper thanked me!"

Kailen appeared in the southern part of the principle fragment tower. Kailen appeared at the part of the tower where the space principle fragments were. There were a couple of space principle transcendents here, deep in comprehension. The place was very quiet. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Kailen went deeper. The deeper he went, the less people he saw. During this time, Kailen tried making connections with some space principle fragments. However, it did not work. Those principle fragments had already been marked. People had already formed connections with them. Their time in the tower was up and they left. However, they would return to the tower soon to continue the comprehension from where they left off.

Finally, Kailen arrived at a place where there were no transcendents. This place was not occupied. Kailen silently sat near one of the space principle fragments. It pulsed with ethereal luminescence. Kailen activated the Principle of Space. He felt a connection to the principle fragment. Kailen sighed in relief.

Fortunately, this one too had not been marked by someone.

"I have five months here till I have to leave and return two weeks after that. Let’s see what we can make of these five months."

Kailen heard the whispers of the fragment. The fragment whispered the profundities of the Principle of Space to Kailen. The whispers got clearer and clearer to him.
