How could he even say something like that!

For a moment, Yvonne Sutton didn’t know whether to get angry or laugh. She put her hands in her pockets, speechless for a long while before nodding. "I can give it up, but I want you to give me one good reason why I should let her have it."

Vincent Reed ran a hand through his hair. "Yvonne, I know you can’t let go of the eight years we were together. You hate me for abandoning you, and you hate Wendy for stealing me away. But I’ve already told you—even after Wendy and I get married, you can still stay by my side. You don’t have to be like this."

"Stop!" Yvonne Sutton couldn’t listen to any more. "Vincent Reed, I’m getting married, and on the same day as your wedding. How many times do I have to tell you before you’ll believe me?"

Vincent Reed scoffed. "You’re being ridiculous!"

Yvonne Sutton took a deep breath. "So, can you or can you not give me a reason why I must give it to her? If you can’t, then get out of my way. I’m leaving!"

"Whatever Wendy wants, I’ll give it to her!"

"That’s no excuse for stealing things from others."

"How much? I’ll buy it!"

"It’s not for sale."

"Your parents’ house..."

"Don’t you dare bring up my parents’ house again!" Yvonne Sutton snapped, glaring coldly at Vincent Reed. "If you want to tear it down, then tear it down! Do whatever you want! I give up!"

She couldn’t let him keep threatening her with her parents’ house.

"Falling in love with you was a mistake in the end. I’ll just consider this paying the price for my own mistake!"

Vincent Reed stared blankly at Yvonne Sutton. In that moment, he was struck by a feeling: he had completely lost his grip on her. It wasn’t that he was letting go; it was that she was actively leaving him.

"I... I won’t..."

Vincent Reed wanted to say something, a guilty conscience pricking at him, but just then his phone rang. It was Wendy Winters. He glanced at Yvonne Sutton, and with the ringtone hurrying him along, he answered.

"Are we going to see the wedding venue now?"

"Didn’t we already book the island wedding? A castle? You want a castle wedding?" As he listened, Vincent Reed subconsciously glanced at Yvonne Sutton.

Yvonne Sutton understood immediately. She had always liked the idea of a castle wedding and had told Vincent Reed more than once. Wendy must have found out from him and was now demanding a castle wedding just to spite her.

She was probably gloating: ’See? I stole the boyfriend you loved for eight years, and now I’m stealing your dream wedding, too!’

After hanging up, Vincent Reed paused for a moment before saying in a low voice, "We’re going to look at wedding venues now. Think about what I said earlier."

With that, he strode away.

Yvonne Sutton said a few more words to the shop assistant before heading out as well.

When she stepped outside, Mr. Webb was already waiting for her by the store entrance.

"Miss Sutton, Mr. Shaw asked me to take you to choose a wedding venue."

"Alright."

An hour later, they stopped in front of a castle in the suburbs of Aethelgard. The first thing she saw was a lawn that seemed to stretch to the horizon, followed by a gray-walled castle with a domed roof.

It wasn’t a true ancient castle. For years, it had been a winery, but after the business went bankrupt, it was redecorated to look like a castle and now specializes in hosting weddings.

As soon as she got out of the car, a young woman in a uniform came over to greet her enthusiastically. She had to be the wedding planner.

"Miss Sutton, hello. My name is Ronan Rhine."

Yvonne Sutton shook her hand. "Hello."

"Where should we start our tour? The lawn outside, or inside the castle?"

"Let’s just walk through from here."

"Sounds good."

As Yvonne Sutton walked inside, she noticed a black Maybach parked at the entrance. ’Isn’t that Vincent Reed’s car?’ A thought flashed through her mind, and she immediately realized they must be interested in this venue too. It wasn’t much of a coincidence; after all, this was one of the only high-end wedding venues in Aethelgard.

Once inside, Yvonne Sutton discovered that there were actually two castles on the property. One was positioned directly facing the main gate, while the other was set off to the side. The one facing the gate was noticeably more magnificent and grand.

It was clear that the prices for holding a wedding in the two castles would be different.

Wyatt Shaw had booked the one directly opposite the gate. As they walked toward it, she saw another planner leading Vincent Reed and his party out.

Yvonne’s mind raced. She deliberately lowered her head and ducked behind Ronan Rhine. Because of this, Vincent Reed and his party didn’t see her and went straight to the other castle.

Inside the castle, the first area was a large chapel where the ceremony could be held. Behind it was a banquet hall, perfect for the reception, which could also be set up on the lawn outside. The second floor was filled with guest rooms, and the third floor was an observation deck.

Ronan Rhine took out the proposal their company had prepared and explained it to Yvonne Sutton in detail, telling her that any part she wasn’t satisfied with could be modified on the spot.

As they were talking, a staff member hurried over and whispered a few words to Ronan Rhine. Ronan looked at Yvonne Sutton, a troubled expression on her face.

"What’s wrong?" Yvonne Sutton asked.

Ronan Rhine thought for a moment before saying, "On the day of your and Mr. Shaw’s wedding, another couple is also planning to have their wedding here. However, they prefer this castle."

"And?"

"They’ve already put down a deposit."

Yvonne Sutton looked at Ronan Rhine, confused. "But didn’t we book this a long time ago?"

"We hadn’t actually specified which castle yet. The plan was to finalize it with you today. And, well, the other party is very well-connected. They made one phone call and went straight to the owner of the estate. So, you see..."

After hearing this, Yvonne Sutton walked to the glass window. In the distance, she saw Vincent Reed and Wendy Winters looking at this very castle, hand in hand, looking every bit the sweet, loving couple.

She took out her phone and sent a message to Wyatt Shaw: "I like this castle, but someone else has already put down a deposit."

After sending the message, she realized it was already midnight where Wyatt Shaw was. But he replied almost instantly.

"If you like it, then of course it has to be yours."

His words were overly domineering, but to Yvonne Sutton, they sounded incredibly sweet. Because of that, even if they ended up having their wedding in the other castle, she would still be happy.

"In that case, we’ll have to modify the proposal, Miss Sutton. You see..." Ronan Rhine said, looking very apologetic.

Yvonne Sutton nodded. "Mm."

"I’ll make the changes here, then, but it will take some of your time."

"That’s fine." Yvonne Sutton didn’t want to make things difficult for Ronan Rhine; after all, the Reed Family held considerable sway in Aethelgard. "Take your time. I’m not in a hurry."

While Ronan Rhine worked on revising the proposal, Yvonne Sutton watched the couple outside. They strolled across the lawn, bathed in the glow of the setting sun. They looked so perfect, truly a match made in heaven.

’They’re waiting, too,’ she thought. ’Waiting for me to leave so they can enter, triumphant. They must really enjoy the feeling of snatching things from others, as if it makes them superior.’

But just then, a staff member ran over to them. He must have said something, because Vincent Reed’s face immediately darkened with anger, while Wendy Winters’s eyes turned red.

Both of them turned to look in her direction...
