Chapter 38: Chapter 38: He’s Back

The villa’s main gate was just ahead. Yvonne Sutton started running again and passed through it moments later. She had just breathed a sigh of relief when she turned around and saw that the man had entered as well.

She frowned and quickened her pace toward her house. By the time she reached her front door, the man had followed her right to her doorstep.

"What do you think you’re doing?" she asked, spinning around to face him.

The streetlights in the villa complex were quite bright, so she got a clear look at his face this time. Even under the circumstances, she couldn’t help but be stunned by his appearance.

This man was beautiful.

’That’s right. ’Beautiful’ was a better word for him than ’handsome.’’

He had a pair of phoenix eyes, skin as fair as porcelain, a high-bridged nose, and red lips that contrasted with his pearly teeth. Each feature was beautiful to an extreme, and together, they were breathtaking. But even more striking than his perfect face was his aura. He smirked at her, looking every bit the rogue, yet at the same time exuding an air of proud, aristocratic grace.

’Such a gorgeous man, and he’s a stalker. What a waste.’

"This is my home. Since you helped me earlier, I won’t call the police. Just leave, now!"

As she spoke, she took a step back toward her front door, but the man immediately closed the distance between them.

"You..."

The next moment, he had her cornered.

He raised an eyebrow and then smiled. Then, to her utter astonishment, he pressed his index finger to the electronic lock, and it clicked open.

Yvonne Sutton was floored. Her mind went completely blank.

The man pressed her back against the wall. "Do you know who I am now?"

"W-Wyatt Shaw?" Yvonne Sutton asked, looking at him uncertainly.

The man smiled. "Yvonne Sutton, it’s me."

Yvonne Sutton’s mouth fell slightly open. The voice was definitely his. "But... aren’t you supposed to be in Port Alistair? You..."

"I finished my work early and came back to surprise you."

"You..."

’How could this man be Wyatt Shaw? Isn’t Wyatt Shaw supposed to be a gentle, refined gentleman?’

Wyatt Shaw smiled, wrapped his arm around her, and led her inside.

"I thought you’d be home, but you weren’t here when I arrived. I asked Mr. Webb and learned you’d gone to a pub, so I got the address from him and went to find you. And then..."

’And then he beat up Mason Lynch for me.’

Yvonne Sutton breathed a small sigh of relief. "Then why didn’t you tell me who you were? You had me thinking you were some kind of thug."

Wyatt Shaw chuckled. "The whole way here, I was trying to figure out how to greet you. ’Hi, I’m Wyatt Shaw. Your fiancé. A pleasure to meet you.’ Wouldn’t that have been weird?"

Yvonne Sutton laughed, too. It would have been a little weird, indeed.

Once inside, Wyatt Shaw kept his arm around her. She felt a little uncomfortable and tried to subtly slip away, but he pinned her against the door.

"You..."

Before she could finish, he kissed her.

His kiss was urgent and forceful, as if he’d been longing for this for ages. Yvonne Sutton’s body went rigid. They might be engaged, but... this was still the first time they had ever met.

She tried to push him away, but he only held her tighter, as if trying to fuse her into his own body.

"W-Wyatt..." she said, shaking her head.

He held her head still, his breathing ragged. "Do you have any idea how much I’ve wanted this?"

"Huh?"

"I’ve been dying for it."

"But we’ve only just met. How can you know... you want me?"

"A feeling."

"Er?"

"The moment I first saw you, this is what I wanted."

"It’s too fast... Mmph—"

He kissed her again, more urgently and demanding this time. While she was still dizzy from the kiss, she felt herself being swept into his arms. He carried her up to the second floor and into the master bedroom.

The moment she landed on the bed, he was on top of her.

Everything that followed was a matter of course. Yvonne Sutton was hesitant at first, but she was soon swept up in his passion and lost herself in the moment.

He had clearly been longing for this for a very long time. He didn’t stop until Yvonne was so exhausted she couldn’t even lift a finger, at which point he carried her to the shower.

After a sleepless night, Yvonne Sutton awoke to find it was already broad daylight.

Wyatt Shaw was already out of bed. She tried to sit up, but her entire body ached as if it had fallen apart. As she propped herself up on her arms, the blanket slid down, revealing that she was naked and covered in marks. Her face instantly flushed crimson.

Wyatt Shaw had left her pajamas on the bedside table, along with her underwear. She took a moment to get her bearings before getting dressed and heading to the bathroom to freshen up.

As she came downstairs from the second floor, she heard Wyatt Shaw talking to someone on speakerphone.

"Nathan, you know we’re negotiating in good faith. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have cooperated with your multiple revisions to the acquisition proposal."

Yvonne Sutton walked into the dining area and saw Wyatt Shaw cooking in the kitchen. He was shirtless, wearing only a pair of baggy jeans. He had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a smooth, muscular back.

She’d pictured Wyatt Shaw in her mind many times. He was supposed to be dapper and refined, always in a suit and tie. The reality was clearly a far cry from her imagination.

Just then, an angry voice came from the phone’s speaker. "Mr. Shaw, you claim you’re acting in good faith, but at the most critical moment, you fly back home and suspend all negotiations. I’m not seeing any good faith at all!"

"I’m getting married."

"Is getting married more important than a multi-billion-dollar acquisition?"

"Of course."

"Come on, Mr. Shaw. You know we’re running out of time over here."

"If you can wait, then wait until after I’m married. We can resume the talks then."

"We can’t wait!"

"Then I’m sorry. I hope we’ll have another chance to cooperate in the future."

"You... This is outrageous! It’s strong-arm tactics!"

"Nathan, watch your tone."

The man on the other end took several deep breaths. "What if we accept the proposal you put forward at the last meeting?"

"Excellent. You can go to our Port Alistair branch to sign the contracts. My secretary is waiting for you."

"You!" The man on the phone seethed with impotent rage before finally sighing in defeat. "Mr. Shaw... I... what more can I say?"

"You can wish me a happy marriage."

"Ha. Fine. I wish you and your wife a happy marriage."

After ending the call, he turned off the stove and ladled the noodles into a bowl. He carried it out to the dining table, where he found Yvonne Sutton watching him with her arms crossed. He gave her a slight smirk, set the bowl down, then walked over and pulled her into his arms.

"You’re awake?"

"Mhm. You..."

Yvonne Sutton still felt a bit awkward, but Wyatt Shaw leaned down and kissed her as if it were the most natural thing in the world. What she thought would be a simple good-morning kiss quickly deepened.

"Stop!" Yvonne Sutton pushed him away and took a few deep breaths. "I... I’m hungry!"

Wyatt Shaw tilted his head and grinned at her, not stopping until she blushed again.

"I made you some noodles."

He pulled out a chair for her, then placed a large bowl of seafood noodles in front of her.

"The seafood must be from my grandmother. She had already prepared it, so all I had to do was soak it last night. It was perfect for making noodles this morning," Wyatt Shaw said, taking the seat beside her.

Yvonne Sutton looked at the steaming bowl of seafood noodles. It was loaded with ingredients and smelled absolutely delicious.

"You... you really made this?"

Wyatt Shaw handed her a pair of chopsticks. "Try it."

Yvonne Sutton took a bite. Mmm, the broth was savory and fragrant, the noodles were perfectly al dente, and the shrimp were plump and crisp.

"It’s delicious!" she said, giving Wyatt Shaw a thumbs-up.

Wyatt Shaw raised an eyebrow at her. "I used to work as a chef."

"Huh?"

"It’s true." Wyatt Shaw smiled, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "My mom always used to say you can never have too many skills. The more you learn, the more options you’ll have later in life."

"So what else have you done?"

"All sorts of things. For example, a male escort." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Yvonne Sutton covered her mouth, staring at Wyatt Shaw in disbelief.

Wyatt Shaw burst out laughing. "Don’t worry. I was selling my talent, not my body."

"So, what’s your talent?"
