The girl frowned at the name, flipped her off, and then ran away.

Her short, fluffy golden hair bounced as she ran, seeming to dance in the sunlight.

"She looks a lot like her, doesn’t she?"

Yvonne Sutton’s expression chilled as she turned to see Jean Bell walking out of the house.

Jean Bell smiled at her, then descended the steps and walked over.

"I was startled when I first saw her, too."

"What are you trying to do?" Yvonne Sutton asked.

’Having an actress on her crew who looked so much like Hannah Abbott couldn’t possibly be a coincidence.’

"I just thought a certain role was perfect for her."

"Is this character based on Hannah Abbott?"

"Yes," Jean Bell admitted.

"Then is there a character based on Wyatt Shaw, too?"

"As a matter of fact, there is."

"And what about you?"

"I’m the female lead of this story."

"The crazy woman?"

Jean Bell chuckled. "That may be, but I’m not crazy."

"Jean Bell, is this why you wanted me on set? So I would find out about your story?" Yvonne Sutton raised an eyebrow.

"You’re very happy now, aren’t you?"

"So?"

"But what if this happiness is all a lie? When I expose everything, will you hate me, or will you thank me?"

Yvonne Sutton let out a breath. "I see you really have gone mad."

She ignored Jean Bell and walked into the house.

Just as Jean Bell had said, her production was small, with few actors, a small crew, and only a single filming unit.

When Yvonne Sutton went inside, Claire Lawrence had just finished her scene. She saw Yvonne and hurried over.

"Yvonne, you’re finally here! Without you, I feel like a lost little kid. So pathetic!" Claire Lawrence exclaimed, hugging Yvonne Sutton.

Yvonne Sutton chuckled. "Has someone been bullying you?"

"Not really. It’s just that I don’t know everyone very well, so I don’t have anyone to talk to."

Seeing that Claire Lawrence seemed to be in good spirits, Yvonne Sutton felt relieved.

Claire had another scene coming up, so she had to wait. Yvonne kept her company and they chatted off to the side. When they started talking about her Stratos contract, Claire regretted signing it without thinking it through.

"It’s bad enough they won’t give me any staff, but they’re also always trying to steal my resources."

Yvonne put an arm around Claire. "And who am I to you now?"

"My best friend, of course."

"And your manager," Yvonne added, raising an eyebrow at Claire. "As for terminating your contract, I’ll handle it."

Claire blinked. "You?"

Then, as a thought struck her, her eyes lit up. "I completely forgot! You’re the Young Madam of The Rhodes Group now. You have so many connections. Maybe all it will take is one word from you and Stratos will just let me go."

"One word probably won’t cut it. I’ll have to ask Silas Rhodes for help."

Just as they were speaking, they heard someone on set yell, "Cut!"

Yvonne looked over and saw that it wasn’t the director who had yelled "Cut," but an actress in a blue sweater. She was shouting furiously, pointing at her scene partner. "What is wrong with you? Do you even know how to act? Your face is a wooden plank! Not a single expression! Are you supposed to be playing a log?"

The other actress was clearly a minor player with little clout. She looked aggrieved by the accusation but didn’t dare to argue back loudly, only murmuring, "My character is supposed to be stoic and show no emotion."

"You’re supposed to play stoic and expressionless, but you still have to *act*! Can’t you at least act with your eyes?"

"I am acting with my eyes."

"Your eyes are completely blank!"

"The director hasn’t said anything..."

"Did you hear that, Director Lynch? She’s saying you’re unprofessional!"

The show’s director, Director Lynch, was a balding, middle-aged man who looked completely exasperated.

"Annie, please, don’t be angry. She’s just a rookie; what does she know about acting? And Cindy, Corinne is trying to teach you something. You should listen humbly and not talk back."

After placating the actress in the blue sweater, Director Lynch urged everyone to hurry and resume filming.

Claire leaned in and whispered to Yvonne, "The actress in the blue sweater is Corinne Joyner, the female lead. She just won a Best Actress award, so she’s at the height of her fame and completely full of herself. Every minor actor who has a scene with her gets ’schooled’ by her."

"She can just interrupt filming whenever she wants, and the director and producer don’t say anything?"

"How could they? She’s the one bringing all the buzz to this show."

Filming resumed. Yvonne kept watching, just in time to see Corinne Joyner grab a wine bottle and slam it against the edge of the coffee table.

CRACK! Shards of glass flew everywhere.

Yvonne’s heart leaped into her throat; she knew immediately that something was wrong. And sure enough, the other actress, Cindy Jacobs, screamed and clutched at her left eye as the flying shards hit her.

The set was silent for a moment, then erupted into chaos.

"Wrong bottle! The actor grabbed the wrong prop!"

Yvonne rushed over. Cindy Jacobs, whose eye had been hit by the glass, was screaming in terror.

"Don’t panic, let me see."

"My eye hurts so much! I’m going blind!" Cindy Jacobs was completely hysterical.

Yvonne gripped her shoulders and enunciated each word clearly, "I am a doctor. I’m here. You will be okay!"

Hearing that Yvonne was a doctor, Cindy finally stopped screaming. She took a deep breath and shakily moved her hand away from her eye.

Yvonne saw a sliver of glass embedded in the corner of her eye, which was where the blood was coming from. She breathed a small sigh of relief.

"Slowly open your eye. I need to assess the damage."

Cindy was afraid to open it, but Yvonne continued to soothe her.

Just then, however, Corinne Joyner shrieked, "My hand is hurt! Are you all blind? Why is everyone crowding around her!"

Yvonne glanced back and saw that Corinne’s hand was indeed bleeding, but compared to Cindy’s injury, it was nothing.

Yvonne turned her full attention back to comforting Cindy. After a moment, Cindy finally managed to slowly open her eye.

Seeing that her eyeball was unharmed, Yvonne let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Don’t worry, you’re not going to go blind."

The glass shard in the corner of her eye needed to be removed quickly, though. She sent a crew member to get her medical kit from her room.

"You’re the doctor? Are you deaf? Get over here and bandage my hand!" Corinne Joyner shouted at Yvonne.

Yvonne glanced at her hand. The bleeding had already stopped. "Your wound isn’t serious," she said. "I’ll disinfect it for you in a moment." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Are you new here or something? Don’t you know who I am? I’m the star of this show! If I’m injured and can’t perform, this whole production grinds to a halt!"

Yvonne frowned. "It’s just a small cut on your hand. It’s not serious enough to keep you from acting."

"How dare a broke-ass doctor like you talk back to me? I’m going to have the producer fire you right now!"

"Whatever."

Corinne Joyner was used to getting her way on set. Furious that Yvonne was showing her such disrespect, she shot to her feet, grabbed a glass of red wine from the coffee table, and flung its contents at Yvonne.

But Yvonne was ready and dodged it easily.

The red wine sailed past her and splattered all over an ink wash painting on the wall behind.

The director froze for a second before crying out in alarm, "That painting! It’s a famous piece the owner of this villa bought at an auction! It’s said to be worth thirty million!"
