Chapter 230: Taking Care of Our Wife (1)

Even though her sneeze was adorable, her sick condition was still the most important thing.

"You’re sick!" Luan was the first to react. He quickly grabbed a fresh set of clothes for Roxanna and brought her to Aelin’s temporary bedroom. "Change your clothes first... or do you want to take a bath? But the water might be too cold for you. Maybe warm water? I can boil it over the fire. Wait, yeah, that should work."

Actually, he had never used warm water before because what was the point of it? If the water was too cold, he could just skip bathing, right?

But a few days ago, he had heard Roxanna speaking in her mind, saying that it would be better if there was a water heater in their hut, or at least boiling water so she could bathe comfortably at night without feeling cold.

The problem was... Roxanna had never spoken about that to anyone, so when Luan said it, she felt that he was kind of suspicious.

Fortunately, she was busy shivering, so Roxanna didn’t want to discuss something strange like that right now. "Can you help me boil the water, then?"

"How?" Luan asked.

Roxanna was about to say something, but then she realized that they didn’t have a water kettle.

[You can buy it from the system market, Host!] the system suddenly said.

[Purchased 1x Water Kettle: 500 SP]

[Confirmed? (Yes/No)]

Without thinking further, Roxanna immediately clicked "yes."

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 297,050]

As the water kettle appeared out of nowhere and landed in Roxanna’s hands, she handed it to Luan. "You can use this. After you fill it with water, you can place it on the stove, and then it will scream to let you know that the water is hot enough."

Luan frowned. "This thing can scream?" he asked doubtfully. At that moment, he was even hesitant to accept that strange object.

Roxanna nodded, but since Luan was still hesitant, he didn’t take the kettle from her hand, making her wonder. [Maybe it’s too scary for him. I used to be scared of this thing too when I was little...]

At last, Roxanna said, "But if you don’t want to do it, then—"

"I will do it! I will do it!" He immediately took the kettle from her hand, then said, "You just need to wait here and change your clothes while I heat the water. I have to wait until the kettle screams, right?"

Roxanna nodded again, and before she could say anything, Luan had already replied, "Got it."

Right after that, he immediately dashed out of the room. He fetched some water from the bathroom, then placed the kettle on the stove that was still burning.

Meanwhile, Calen went to fetch more water from the well because logically, there was no way Roxanna’s skin wouldn’t burn if she bathed using only boiling water. Cyrus made warm soup for her, while Zeir stacked two mattresses together so her body wouldn’t ache while she rested.

Azul wanted to help, but all of them only glared at him, as if they were saying that if their wife didn’t recover soon, they would blame him for it. But Azul only shrugged, silently implying that being a fish was not a sin.

"Alright, why don’t you find Aelin instead?" Zeir finally said to neutralize the situation between them. "I know Roxanna has a great healing ability, but now that she keeps sneezing, it means something is wrong with her healing ability. It might also have something to do with her pregnancy."

Without saying anything, Azul only nodded and immediately went to find Aelin. These days, she had been spending a lot of time with Skiv, probably because the little boy was so excited to learn about poison, which made Aelin excited as well.

"Aelin," Azul called out as soon as he saw her through the window of Skiv’s hut. The two of them were busy grinding some medicinal plants that Azul didn’t really recognize, which was a bit strange because he could usually identify many kinds of medicinal plants.

"Hey, don’t come any closer without a mask!" Aelin shouted as Azul was about to step forward. "The smell of these plants can make you dizzy!"

Azul immediately stopped, then shouted back from a distance, "Then why are you making something that dangerous in a child’s house?!"

Skiv frowned and quickly shouted back, "I’m not a kid! And Aelin taught me how to make poisons, so I can still be useful even if I can’t carry a weapon in the future!"

Azul raised one of his eyebrows. If it had something to do with Skiv’s species as a little mouse, then he found it strange. He was just a small fish, yet he could still carry a weapon without any problem.

Still, Skiv looked so serious and excited about learning that Azul decided not to say anything more.

"Alright, I’m sorry!" Azul shouted again. "I just came to get Aelin because Roxanna got sick. She keeps sneezing, maybe because we spent too much time near the river. Can you come check on her?"

The moment Aelin heard that, she stopped everything at once. She turned to Skiv and said, "Alright, that’s it for today. Let’s put all of this away in the safe box, and remember—"

"I can’t touch it without you," Skiv said quickly.

Aelin nodded with a small smile. "That’s right. You really are a good student!"

Skiv smiled proudly. After all, Aelin was the only one who always praised him like that.

After making sure all the dangerous materials were safely locked inside a box, Aelin stepped out of the hut and removed her cloth mask. "Alright, let’s head back."

As they walked side by side, Azul accidentally noticed her opening a small book that she kept in her little pouch.

"What’s that?" Azul asked, curious.

"This?" Aelin held it up slightly. "It’s a notebook. I use it to keep track of what I’ve been teaching Skiv."

Azul frowned a little. "No, I mean... what’s that? The strange thing on top of the notebook?"
