Chapter 234: Planning the Layout With A Cool Lizzard

[Opened the current layout of the Vixeria Settlement.]

Roxanna stared at the floating 3D layout in front of her. It had cost her three thousand Spirit Points, but it was worth it because the map showed every part of the land in Vixeria clearly, along with its size. It even counted how many trees were there and estimated how many huts they would need to support everyone.

"What are you looking at?" Zeir asked when he noticed her standing still, staring at empty space.

After walking around the whole settlement a few times, they had stopped near the old Black Hut that had been burned down. The area was quiet, and it also gave Roxanna a chance to check on the vegetables she had planted a few days ago.

"Something interesting," Roxanna murmured. But in her mind, she was thinking, [If only Zeir could see this map too... it would be so much easier to explain things.]

Zeir let out a soft sigh when he heard her thought. To be honest, it would indeed be interesting if he could see what Roxanna was seeing, so he could understand her better.

[Actually, Host...] the system suddenly spoke. [Since all of your husbands’ affection points are already very high, the system would like to offer you something interesting.]

Roxanna narrowed her eyes. [Go on...]

Roxanna narrowed her eyes slightly. [Go on...]

[The system would like to offer: Cool Sunglasses — If one of your husbands wears this item, he will be able to see holograms; information, images, even videos. However, he will not be able to see your personal system panel.]

Roxanna blinked several times because that sounded like one of the coolest things the system had ever offered her. With that, she might even be able to use audiobooks so her husbands could receive information without needing to read.

But of course, since the system said this was an offer and not a gift, she knew it wouldn’t be free.

[So... what’s the price?] Roxanna asked.

The system replied right away, [For this one, you don’t need to pay with Spirit Points, Host!]

Roxanna raised one eyebrow, her suspicion growing. Something that useful and no SP cost? Yeah, there was no way it was that simple.

[Then what do you want from me?]

The system went quiet for a moment before finally speaking again in a cheerful voice.

[The system wants Host to name your firstborn: Renaris (girl) and Renaros (boy). If you agree, you can get the glasses without paying anything.]

Roxanna tilted her head, confused about why the system suddenly asked for something so odd. Out of all the things that could benefit the system, it only asked her to name her firstborn with the names it had chosen?

[Do you want to accept it? (Yes/No)]

Well, Renaris or Renaros both sounded beautiful, so she didn’t have any problem using those names for her firstborn. Because of that, Roxanna immediately said, [Yes.]

[Ding! Ding!]

[You have obtained 1 Cool Sunglasses!]

[Note: If Host breaks your promise, you will receive a consequence.]

Roxanna shrugged. After all, she really had no reason to use another name anyway.

Not long after that, a pair of sunglasses fell from above and landed in her palm. Roxanna blinked, then turned toward Zeir, who had been quietly waiting the whole time. He didn’t interrupt her, knowing she was talking to the "voice in her head."

"I have something interesting," Roxanna said with a bright smile as she held the sunglasses out to him. "If you wear this, you’ll be able to see something that can help us plan the new layout."

Zeir’s crimson eyes moved between the sunglasses and Roxanna. To be honest, he didn’t even know what kind of object she was holding and had briefly thought it was something worn on the head.

"I... use this?" Zeir asked hesitantly.

Roxanna nodded quickly, her smile not fading. "Yes! Yes! Don’t worry, it’s not dangerous!"

With some hesitation, Zeir finally took the sunglasses from her hand. Since he had no idea how to use them, he placed them on top of his head, like a crown.

"No, you don’t wear sunglasses on your head," Roxanna said with a small giggle. She stood on her tiptoes, reached for the sunglasses on his head, and carefully placed them over his eyes.

Zeir froze, and then he gasped. "What—what happened? My vision... it got darker!"

Seeing Zeir panic like that was something Roxanna rarely witnessed, and every time she did, she couldn’t help but find him a little cute.

"There’s nothing wrong with your vision," Roxanna said, trying not to laugh. She lifted the sunglasses slightly. "See? When you take it off, your vision is normal. When you wear it, it gets darker again."

"Back in my world, we use sunglasses to protect our eyes from sunlight, but sometimes they’re also used for fashion," Roxanna explained.

Zeir lifted and lowered the sunglasses several times, testing the difference. He couldn’t hide his fascination with something he had never seen before.

"Is this magic?" he asked.

Roxanna was about to explain more, but then she simply nodded. "Yes. You can think of it as a magic tool."

As he let the sunglasses rest on his eyes, Zeir asked, "Why are you giving me this? I prefer seeing the sunlight."

Roxanna fell silent for a moment, not because she didn’t know what to say, but because Zeir looked so cool and even more handsome with the sunglasses on.

"I didn’t give it to you for that," she said at last. "Actually, I want to show you something."

She then asked the system to display a floating hologram between them. At the same time, Zeir stepped back in surprise and even reached for the stone axe at his waist.

"It’s alright! It’s alright!" Roxanna quickly tried to calm him. "This isn’t dangerous. You know about the voice in my head, right? Besides giving me guidance and telling me what to do, it sometimes shows me things like this floating images."

Still keeping his distance, Zeir poked the hologram panel with a stick, but every time it touched it, the stick passed right through.

"You can’t touch it," Roxanna explained. "It’s just... a hologram."

Honestly, this was also the reason why she didn’t want to tell her husbands everything about the system. Not only would it be hard to explain, but she also didn’t want to scare them with something so unfamiliar.

"What is a hologram?" Zeir asked.

Roxanna was about to explain, but then she paused. In the end, she simply said, "Magic."

"I see..." Zeir replied softly.

Zeir didn’t look away this time. Slowly, his guard dropped. His hand moved away from the axe, though his eyes stayed fixed on the floating panel in front of him.

"What... kind of thing should I be looking at?" Zeir asked.

Roxanna smiled, and the flat panel in front of them suddenly shifted.

The light flickered, and then it transformed into a detailed 3D layout of the Vixeria settlement.

Huts, paths, trees... everything rose up in miniature form, as if a small version of their world had appeared right before their eyes.

Zeir’s eyes widened slightly. "This..." He took a slow step closer, his gaze carefully scanning every part of it. "This is... our settlement?"

Roxanna nodded. "Yes. This is how it looks right now."

Zeir leaned in a little, studying it more closely.

He could see the burned remains of the Black Hut, the scattered huts, the uneven spacing, even the areas where trees were still standing.

"It’s messy," he said honestly.

Roxanna let out a small laugh. "I know."

She pointed at one side of the layout. "That’s why I want to fix it. Look here, everything is too close together. If something happens, people won’t be able to move quickly."

Zeir followed her finger. He murmured, "And it would be hard to defend."

"Exactly," Roxanna said.

She felt relieved because Zeir was able to quickly adapt to the floating hologram without asking too many questions anymore.

Roxanna moved her hand again, tracing another part of the map. "I want to open up the space here, make proper paths, and move the living area deeper inside."

Zeir nodded slowly, already starting to understand. "So the outer area becomes a buffer."

Roxanna’s eyes lit up. "Yes!"

She turned slightly toward him, clearly excited. "And the training ground should be closer to the entrance. That way, if anything happens, the warriors can respond faster."

"How about the storage?" Zeir asked.

"In the center," Roxanna answered right away. "Safe, and easy for everyone to reach. Meanwhile, we can place the farming area at the back because it is the most important area and needs to be hidden from others."

Zeir’s gaze followed her finger as she pointed toward the back of the layout. "Hidden," he repeated quietly. "So it won’t be easily targeted."

Roxanna nodded. "Yes. If someone attacks us, they’ll most likely aim for our food supply first."
