Chapter 82: Demonized

Woooh! Woooh! Woooh!

The wailing sound resounded once more.

This time, Miguel finally confirmed that it also came directly from the mouth of this cave. Just like the water.

Both of them traced to the same source.

Miguel was even more certain that the ’demonic miasma’ was truly hidden beneath this cave.

Miguel held his urge to barge in.

Instead, he closed his eyes and focused while casting [Divine Sense]. The sphere of vision pulsated as it pierce through the mouth of the cave, sensing what was beneath it.

Miguel expected for his [Divine Sense] to become obstructed as the cave’s mouth was very small. Just enough for a person to fit through.

However, what he saw was something else.

Like the hidden room inside the cave where he found that natural treasure not too long ago, the space inside this small cave’s mouth was actually very wide and hollow.

It was like a wide tunnel with the stream of water flowing at the center.

After sensing that there was no danger around, Miguel finally decided to enter the cave.

It was pretty dark inside and eerily silent.

Miguel could only rely on his [Divine Sense] as he moved forward, tracing the streaming water intently. Due to his suspicion that the water was contaminated, he was careful not to step or get drench with it, afraid that it might hasten his contamination.

What was worth mentioning though was that the wailing sound was very low as he traveled on this tunnel-like cave.

However, the further he was away from the entrance, the more hoarse the wailing sound became.

It was as though a huge creature was breathing roughly deep in the cave from time to time, as though someone was blowing a huge horn deep inside.

Due to that, Miguel was extremely careful as he moved forward.

The tunnel inside the cave was spacious, enough for a few people to walk side by side.

Miguel was already very deep at this moment, yet he still did not see an end to this tunnel.

It was also a straight path, as though it was purposely made that way if this was not naturally formed.

As he went deeper and deeper, the straight tunnel finally split into two, along with the water flowing at the center.

He looked at both of them, not knowing what to choose.

However, Miguel had a nagging feeling that no matter what he chose, it would still end up in the same location.

This was his Innate Skill telling him to not be bothered choosing.

Miguel followed his intuition and carelessly went to the right path.

Another long arduous walk followed suit as Miguel was determined to reach the end and find the source.

If he finds the source, he might be able to solve his current predicament.

At the next moment, Miguel suddenly stopped in his tracks.

His face beneath the mask contorted as his hand clutched his left chest that was aching in pain.

His breathing quickened, as he felt his heart being crushed by a huge amount of pressure.

He knelt on the ground, grunting as he clenched his left chest, trying to ease the pain, but to no avail.

His face beneath the mask turned diabolic. Saliva dripped out of his mouth as his eyes turned a shade of red for a moment.

"Huff... Huff... huff!"

Miguel’s breathing was heavy and quick.

The pain subsided but Miguel did not feel anything good.

He knew that this was the demonization. It was starting to get to him. His mind spun a little, but it quickly subsided along with the pain.

After he calmed his heavy breathing, he continued to walk forward with the guide of [Divine Sense].

He didn’t know how long this tunnel would end but he knew that the answer for his current predicament was there.

He must hurry!

As he hurried forward, he felt his body’s temperature slowly rise as beads of sweat escaped out of his pores.

He quickened even more as he realized his steps became erratic.

His [Divine Sense], which had always been turned on actually flickered as he almost stumbled from the sudden loss of ’vision’.

His heart palpitated as pain overtook his mind once again, forcing him to stop in his tracks once more.

However, Miguel gritted his teeth and persevered. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

He was gradually losing focus and the [Divine Sense] constantly flickered, making his ’vision’ very erratic. The only reason why he was able to move forward was due to him tracing the tunnel’s rough walls.

He did not know how long he had walked, but at this moment, Miguel was no different from a fully blind person. The tunnel was dark in the first place and for some reason, he could no longer focus and could no longer use any of his skills, including [Divine Vision].

Miguel’s thoughts drifted randomly. He was no longer aware of what he was doing.

His body continued to move forward, as though it was moving instinctively.

Saliva dripped his mouth as he breathed roughly like a beast.

His eyes turned even redder.

If a person happens to see him right now, they would surely label him like a demonized beast.

However, in this deepest part underground of Ghost Wail Mountain, there was no other person other than him.

His mind was blank and the only reason he continued to crawl forward was due to the determination and from the constant reminded of his Innate Skill that was working passively.

The pain on his chest intensified as his head began to ache as well.

Due to the pain, Miguel even bashed his head to the wall.

Fortunately, the mask cushioned the impact, allowing him to escape almost scotch free.

However, Miguel did not stop there.

He bashed his head to the wall as he crawled forward, until the mask could no longer hold on and broke apart.

He had already lost his mind and was no longer thinking straight.

At this time, he was no different from a demonized beast at all. If anyone were to check his back right now, they would surely realize that the clump of purplish electricity on the left side of his back had already spread and practically covered his whole body.

In fact, it had already spread on his ribs and was now on its way to the other parts of his body.

Suddenly, Miguel, who was only moving instinctively and erratically seemed to have all his strength strip-off of him.

His hand reached forward, as though it still wanted to continue moving ahead.

However, his knees and legs grew weak. Not even a minute later, he fell forward with his hand still extended forward.

His mind finally blanked out, Miguel fainted with the demonic miasma constantly spreading on his back.

Whether he would still be the same person when he woke up, no one knows.

However, right at this moment.

A flash of light suddenly engulfed his mind.
