Chapter 85: He Lacked A Good Beating!!

Raiden woke up the next day feeling much better than yesterday. He could move easily and much more freely now.

Currently, he was walking in the Alliance headquarters of Silver Peak city while tailing Isadora, on his way to select his reward, the egg.

Morgana and Old Man Sol already left the same day the tournament concluded, rushing to get Cinder treated while Isadora stayed back to take care of him.

Soon, following the staff member, they reached the room of the president of the Alliance.

Knock. Knock.

"Come in." A deep masculine voice called out from inside as both Isadora and Raiden stepped inside the room.

Raiden surveyed it and found it decorated with various artworks that he couldn’t understand and gave off an aristocratic feel.

Behind a big mahogany desk sat a dashing middle-aged man, his golden hair slicked back, wearing a pin-striped black suit.

Sitting on top of his nose was a golden-framed glass, which oddly complemented his overall look and hair.

"Ah, Miss Isadora, Raiden Ashford, welcome. I have been expecting you. Thank you for visiting." Despite having an arrogant face, the man spoke politely as he looked at both of them, his eyes lingering on Raiden for a significantly longer period of time.

"Thank you for hosting us, President. I am sure your time is precious, so we won’t waste it. We want to travel to the Egg Compendium to select and pick the prize of the championship." Isadora spoke with a professional smile, clearly familiar with the person before her.

"Of course, of course, that’s his right. Please come with me." The man got up from his chair, as his height revealed itself for the first time.

The man was shorter than he expected, barely reaching 5’10. But he commanded an absolute presence and respect as he moved, making Raiden automatically move aside to clear his way.

The journey was silent on the way up as the man led them through a labyrinth of the headquarters building before reaching a big metal door that was sealed.

He quickly tapped the metal panel on the side wall, as it dropped down to reveal a console.

He lowered his glasses and glanced at the console.

"Open the door, requesting access, Areon Goldwyn."

A green beam fired from the small metal console as they quickly scanned his eyes before sinking back in.

"Good morning, President, welcome back. Hope you have a safe travels."

With a hiss, the metal door opened and revealed itself to Raiden as he peered inside.

The inside of the room was absolutely barebones, except for a big metal platform in the centre of the room that shone with abstract black and red patterns.

"Hey, I thought we were going to pick up an egg, no? There is nothing here. This Alliance president doesn’t want to murder us here, does he?" Raiden whispered quietly to Isadora, who burst into a smile.

Before she could say anything, another voice cut in first.

"Rest assured, boy, I do not want to murder you and steal your reward, as tempting as that may be. In fact, I want to thank you." The man spoke calmly as he looked at him with goodwill in his eyes.

"Yes. Remember Kael who you beat in the finals?"

"Yes..." Raiden answered slowly.

"Well, that’s my son, you beat and embarrassed." The main spoke nonchalantly, as if he didn’t care for his son, scaring Raiden so much that he hid behind Isadora.

"Haha, don’t be afraid. I really do want to thank you. That boy was too arrogant for his own good and lacked a beating. My dad, aka his grandparents, also indulged him too much in everything. But after the beating you gave him, I think he will come back to his senses and realise there is always a higher sky, and he is not invincible at his age, let alone in the world. Otherwise, he would have suffered a much worse fate later in life. So I want to thank you for it."

The man spoke seriously, as he glanced at Raiden, who was still hiding behind Isadora, clearly not believing his words.

Shaking his head, he moved on to the centre console and started pressing buttons.

"Alright, brat, now step onto the centre of the platform. Only you could go there to visit them." Areon asked.

"Step onto it? How will I go there??" Seeing Isadora not saying anything, Raiden slowly stepped out from behind her and asked.

"It’s simple, Teleportation," Areon answered nonchalantly, leaving Raiden shell-shocked.

"Teleportation?? You are telling me teleportation is real?? Then why didn’t I know about it?? Also, why didn’t we use it when we arrived here instead of travelling normally??" Raiden asked in a shocked voice.

"Hehe, teleportation is a black-level technology only available to the Alliance. Of course, you don’t know about it. It’s only in primary stages and very expensive to use, more than it’s worth. So we don’t rely on it unless it’s a super emergency." Areon explained that the platform started buzzing and hummed to life.

All the black and red patterns on it lit up and started rotating around it, giving it a mystic feel.

"Alright, hurry up, don’t waste any time. I can only keep it running for 10 seconds!! You need to step before it’s too late. Only you can visit there. Go!!" Areon screamed at him, snapping Raiden out of his stupor.

He quickly picked up Woolie and stepped onto the platform.

As soon as he set foot on it, the machine hummed to life before he was hit with a feeling of super vertigo and motion sickness.

The world around him blurred into pure white space as he found his body getting twisted and bent in a weird and inexplicable way.

A second later, this feeling vanished as he opened his eyes.

He found himself standing in a completely new place. In front of him was a big castle, a Showa-period Japanese castle, and a big signboard that read,

"Welcome to the Egg Compendium of Alliance"
