I Just Want to Farm, But My Beasts Keep Evolving!!
Chapter 93: Welcoming A New Member
"Brother!! I am back!! You didn’t start without me, did you?" Sylvia’s voice called out as she walked inside the house, only to be greeted by the sight of Raiden, walking around the kitchen in an apron.
"Oh, you are back? Just in time, let’s have some dinner first. I made your favourite dish, take a seat." Raiden called out from the kitchen as he continued to busy himself in the kitchen.
Raiden quickly pulled out an iron skillet and started roasting whole spices on it. Coriander seeds, cumin, fennel, dried red chillies, peppercorns, cardamom, and cinnamon. He tossed them a little to cook the dry spices while putting a different deep frying pan on it, and started tossing the onions and cashews he had prepared long ago.
After noticing they had cooked a little, he tossed in the chopped tomatoes and a little salt, letting it cook while humming to himself.
Meanwhile, Sylvia had made herself at home as she sat together with Ruby and Woolie with anticipation. Since she had been living away from home, she had missed the food her big brother made. The food in the hostel, as fancy as it may be, could not beat the taste of a home-cooked meal by Raiden.
She observed the little grey furball that was sitting on the table sulking, as if a grave injustice had been done to him.
"Woolie?? Is that you?? You look so dashing after evolution!! So cool!!" Sylvia exclaimed in delight as she tried to scoop him up in her arms, only to find him too heavy to move.
’Since when did he become so heavy?!’ Sylvia thought to herself as she failed to pick the little guy up.
"Woolie Woolie Woo!!" ( ˃⌓˂ )!!
Woolie ran and burrowed into Sylvia’s arms in grievance. He had lost his regal and pristine-looking clear coat; instead, it was replaced with this dark, gloomy grey.
He felt like life had lost its meaning, and it had lost the dignity an Emperor should have due to this.
"Hahaha, there there. You haven’t lost the dignity at all, our Woolie is still the best and coolest looking little sheep in the world~" Sylvia consoled him while patting on his head.
"Sniff...Woolie...Sniff" Woolie looked up at Sylvia with teary eyes, as if asking, ’Really??’

"Of course!! You are the most dashing one!! Not to mention, you will have a little brother or sister soon. You need to take care of her, also, okay? Don’t let them see a crying big brother~" Sylvia teased Woolie, who once again got fired up after hearing her words.
"Woolie Wool Woo!!" Woolie jumped up on the table and started thumping his chest with his hooves, as if he were saying he would take care of everything.
Just then, the sounds of their chatting were interrupted by the sounds of a loud grinder, as the smell of roasted and ground spices started to spread across the hall, making both gluttons sitting on the table salivate.
"How much longer big brother?! I am hungry!! Do you need my help?" Sylvia asked in anticipation.
"NO!!! I mean-uh-you must be tired after doing so much in school. Leave everything to me, and just relax and play with Woolie or chat with Aunt Ruby." Raiden consoled his little sister.
What a joke. She was someone who managed to blow the kitchen up while cooking up instant noodles. Who knows what she’ll do if he lets her help cook this dish, which was a little complex. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
To make sure she didn’t come into the kitchen due to impatience, Raiden started to speed up as he started grinding the onion, tomato and cashew paste, while simultaneously rolling a dough ball with a pin, before brushing it with a layer of butter and garlic and putting it in a pan.
Sizzle, Sizzle.
The sound rang out in the kitchen as Raiden moved at light speed, finishing up the dish in a flash, by pouring in the paneer that he had already marinated in gravy he had just cooked in a pan with the spices he ground up, giving it a final touch, a bit of cream and fenugreek leaves.
He then started plating the dish Kadai Paneer with rice and naan, serving it to all three people on the table, who began to dig in without even waiting for him.
{Ding!! The host has cooked a slightly complex food dish! Awarding +114 Exp.}
{Cooking(Level 4): 4,902/8,000 EXP}
A satisfied smile came to his face when he saw the notification.
He wanted to test if the system worked, and he chose cooking for it. From the looks of it, it worked really well.
It was simple enough.
Soon after, he joined the three at dinner, taking a plate and starting to eat with gusto, afraid there would be nothing left for him if he didn’t hurry.
"Phew~I am stuffed. Your cooking is still the best, brother!!" Sylvia lay sprawled on the chair, looking completely unladylike as she patted her stomach.
"Haha, thank you. Let’s get started with the main task now, shall we?? I mean, I already had to wait the whole day for you." Raiden smiled as he talked to her.
Sylvia immediately sat up straight after hearing his words, with Ruby similarly giving up her languid behaviour.
She didn’t like eating this grass-like food, but due to Woolie, who refused to eat meat, they had been eating nothing but meals full of plants for a while now.
As much as she hated to admit it, this food was growing on her, with the way Raiden cooked it. But the next topic was much more important.
"Hiss~ It’s time~ Let’s goo!!" She spoke up as she moved in the living room, with everyone trailing behind her.
There, sitting on the table in front of the sofa, was the objective of today, an incubator.
Looking at the faintly glowing white egg inside it, everyone adopted a serious expression on their faces.
It was time to welcome a new family member!!
