Claire Sinclair grew restless. Unable to bear it any longer, she ran to Henry Hartwell’s office to ask, "Teacher Hartwell, do you know what kind of mission Mr. Quincy is on?"

Henry Hartwell smiled. "How could I possibly know something like that? It’s a Quincy Manor secret. Why don’t you call and ask him yourself?"

With red-rimmed eyes and a voice full of grievance, Claire Sinclair said, "I can’t get through to his phone, and I can’t reach Aiden Howkins or Nancy either. You don’t think something happened, do you?"

"Don’t let your imagination run wild. There are many reasons you can’t get through. They could be at an important event where phones are prohibited, or they could be on a mission deep in the mountains with no signal."

Claire Sinclair couldn’t understand. "Why would Quincy Manor carry out this kind of mission?"

’Besides, Adrian Quincy is the leader. Leaders shouldn’t have to go to the front lines themselves, right?’

Henry Hartwell’s expression turned a little more serious. "Before Young Master Quincy returned to his position at Quincy Manor, he was a legendary figure at the training camp. His brilliant strategies were unparalleled. It’s common for the camp to ask him to return and help out. If it isn’t a critical event that requires his presence, then they’ve run into a problem that only he can solve personally. His position goes far beyond what you see."

Claire Sinclair had never heard any of this before.

Hearing what Teacher Hartwell said, she realized she was like a frog in a well—her understanding of the world was just too limited.

She knew even less about him than Teacher Hartwell did.

’How could an ignorant girl like me ever be worthy of a man like him?’

’There goes my insecurity again...’

Claire Sinclair said dejectedly, "I’m sorry, Teacher Hartwell. I shouldn’t be thinking about non-work-related things during work hours. I’ll get back to it."

How could a crafty old fox like Henry Hartwell not see what was on the young woman’s mind? He chuckled. "If you’re really that worried, why not go ask his grandfather? Old Master Quincy should know something."

’That’s right! The whole world might be against her and Adrian Quincy being together, but not Grandpa White-beard!’

A smile returned to Claire Sinclair’s face. "I understand. Thank you, Teacher Hartwell!"

...

After what felt like an eternity, the workday finally ended. Claire Sinclair couldn’t wait to take a car to the hospital.

When she arrived at the door of the hospital room, she saw someone sitting inside.

’It was his sister, Yara Quincy...’

’Grandpa White-beard seemed to be asleep, lying motionless on the bed. It looked like she’d come at a bad time.’

Claire Sinclair turned to leave, but a sharp voice suddenly called out from behind her, "Stop right there!"

So Yara Quincy had known she was there all along.

Claire Sinclair turned back and looked into the hospital room.

Yara Quincy walked over, her attitude domineering. "Claire Sinclair, what are you doing here?"

"I just came to see Grandpa."

"’Grandpa’? Who do you think you are, calling him that? You’re an imposter! Don’t think you can fool my grandfather just because you have the same face as Quinn. I’m telling you, as long as I’m here, you can forget about getting close to my grandpa!"

Claire Sinclair was speechless for a moment. This sister was so prejudiced against her; there was no talking to her at all. ’Might as well just go home.’

Not even bothering to reply, she turned and walked away.

Yara Quincy grabbed her by the arm. Having been a soldier, her grip was incredibly strong, and it hurt Claire Sinclair instantly.

"Claire Sinclair, don’t you go anywhere!"

"What are you doing? Let go!"

Claire Sinclair struggled with all her might, but Yara Quincy only tightened her grip, nearly twisting her arm off.

"Claire Sinclair, tell me, what’s your motive for getting close to my brother? Are you after my family’s power and influence?"

"You’re being completely unreasonable! Let go!"

Claire Sinclair was too busy struggling to bother speaking with such a deliberately difficult person.
