Chapter 1984: Hye’s Ambitious and Crazy Plan

Moth never expected a newly arrived force like Hye’s, especially someone who didn’t hail from a strong race, to show such fighting prowess.

If Hye’s forces were strong back in the main universe, for a reason Moth and other Hescos elites couldn’t understand, he turned into a real powerhouse in this world.

"We need to talk, fast."

When Moth and other Hescos elites thought that Hye would celebrate this crushing victory, the latter approached Moth and asked for something no one ever expected.

"You want to divide the spoils of war, not the spoils of the fallen ones in this battle, but the different races and forces bases in the waiting area of the Outer Battlefield?!!"

Moth was taken aback by the huge appetite of the human in front of him. Even if Moth knew the basis upon which Hye decided his next target, Moth would have never thought of doing this.

It wasn’t thanks to him having low ambition or because he feared other races. The crux of the problem was the lack of enough forces on their side to properly defend the newly gained bases.

What was the point of taking control over a few more bases today, to lose them tomorrow alongside lots of their forces?

Moth started to slowly explain this to Hye, mistaking that the human would modify his plans and get satisfied with the big victory they achieved today.

But he was greatly mistaken.

He totally underestimated Hye’s resolve.

"It might be a problem for you," Hye casually said, "but for someone like me, I don’t lack forces at all."

"That’s not just about taking out warriors by using tokens." Moth was speechless for a few seconds before adding, "Look, this isn’t the universe we came from; this is the Outer Battlefield. And rule of thumb here, if you don’t have cultivation base, if you didn’t cultivate, you’re worth nothing at all in this world..."

"I know." Hye still kept his calm and pretty annoying smile on his face, "That’s why I’m telling you; for me, this isn’t a problem at all."

Moth went speechless again, this time for a bit longer. He couldn’t tell if Hye hit his head or if he was seriously talking.

"If you are this adamant on doing it, then take any base you want," Moth tiredly said, "we won’t stretch thin our already thinned-out forces. We lost too much today. Even if it’s our victory, we still lost many of what we considered the core of our forces in this world."

"I don’t care about that, but thanks for the generosity." Hye’s face beamed with a bright smile, "If you may, I’ll leave now. I have many bases to conquer, many battles to fight. See you later."

Watching him move away without looking back, calling forth all of his forces and moving fast towards one direction after receiving a map from Moth, left everyone puzzled and pretty much confused.

"You don’t think he was serious, right?" One of the most trusted supporters for Moth spoke up, speaking about everyone’s puzzlement.

And then Moth sighed.

"This human... He is anything but careless or impulsive," Moth looked around, struggling between his desire to go after Hye and do as the human wanted, and between reason and logic.

Eventually, he had to succumb to their current situation.

Even if this was their victory, they lost too many forces that his race and empire spent too much time and effort to build.

The victory was a bitter one this time. And yet he was very curious to see what Hye was going to do, how he would stand against other races when their main forces would return from their outside expeditions.

"Send a detachment alongside the human’s army," Moth said, "let them relay everything the humans will do. Let’s keep an eye on them and see how they will fight on different fronts."

Moth wanted to join but couldn’t, so he sent his spies and waited for news. Then he turned his full focus back on amending the damage this fight caused.

The losses were great, and he knew it would take a long time to recover from such a blow. Luckily, in case Hye brought some miracles like always, the Hescos in this world would have a room to breathe, a period where they could grow stronger and fix everything.

And that was why Moth wanted to see what Hye was going to do, how he would fare against the retaliation of other forces.

Taking many bases now wasn’t a problem; keeping them was.

Hye left the Hescos wing and then the entire base with everyone on his side. In fact, even if Moth tried to stop him using force, he would have fought his ally to not miss this chance.

To him, this was the best opportunity that he had gained using his efforts and strength. And he would never miss it, no matter what.

During the walk, or more precisely, their fast walk, Hye explained everything to Sara and Olana. He even sent for Lucas and explained everything to the three most trustworthy commanders on his side.

"The plan is simple," Hye said, "we have twenty-six different bases that belong to different races we crushed in this battle. These races didn’t send everyone, but most of their elites were involved in this fight. That means these bases are now defenceless and powerless, easy to grab."

"Well..." Olana was the first to speak up. Unlike the other two, she came from a rich family, and she knew way more than anyone else did on Hye’s side: "It’s easy to grab yes, but it’s super hard to keep. Don’t forget, these forces have lots of their strongest armies venturing far from here. The moment the news will spread, and they will, these forces will return and fight to reclaim their bases."

"I know that already." Hye was surprised that something like that was well known to Olana. But when he recalled her origins, he didn’t find it quite surprising: "We have way more than enough to fill each base with our warriors. Not to mention, these forces won’t arrive at the same time. We’ll establish portals between these places, and we’ll help defend the hottest areas and slowly and steadily wear these forces out."
