Lucifer fell back into reality.

He slammed hard into the golden hard-light highway of the Silver Citadel.

His dark leather armor scraped against the glowing surface as he rolled to a stop.

He lay on his back for a fraction of a second with his chest heaving and his muscles screaming from the sheer absolute exhaustion of overriding a conceptual execution.

"Lucifer!"

Elara was there before he even sat up. The Twilight Sovereign landed heavily beside him and her violet-flaming spear hummed.

She grabbed his arm and pulled him upright with a frantic desperate grip. Her golden eyes scanned his body and searched for fatal wounds.

"I’m alive," Lucifer grated out and waved her off slightly. He wiped a streak of blood from his nose with the back of his smoking iron gauntlet. "Just a bit drained."

"You look like you got stepped on by a mountain," Celeste observed and jogged up behind Elara. The High Ranger had her bow drawn and her dark eyes scanned the terrified ranks of the angelic host surrounding them.

"I punched a concept," Lucifer replied smoothly and rolled his shoulders to pop his neck. "It pushed back."

He looked around.

The battlefield was completely frozen.

Millions of six-winged Seraphim hovered in the golden sky. The massive spinning wheels of fire and the sunlight chariots were completely still.

They were all staring at the exact spot where Valerion, the Arch-God of War, had stood seconds before the duel initiated.

Valerion was gone.

Instead, a thick cloud of sparkling golden divine dust was drifting slowly through the air and settling like fine snow onto the hard-light highway.

The absolute crushing psychological weight of the Law of Submission had vanished the moment the duel ended.

Down in the courtyards of Zephyria, the thirteen million mortal soldiers were slowly picking themselves up off the black stone.

They gasped for breath and stared up at the sky in bewildered relief.

"He’s dead," a high-ranking Seraph whispered in horror and dropped its plasma sword. The weapon clattered loudly against the glowing highway. "The Mortal... he killed the God of War in a box."

Panic, a completely alien concept to the celestial host, began to ripple through their perfect rigid formations.

"They are breaking," Lyra noted and stepped up beside Lucifer. The Dawn Saintess’s six wings of twilight energy shifted softly.

"Without Valerion’s aura to enforce their discipline, they are just soldiers realizing they are outmatched."

Lucifer did not smile. He looked at the falling golden dust of the dead God.

"I didn’t just kill him," Lucifer stated coldly. "I won the duel."

[System: Sovereign’s Duel Concluded.]

[Victor: Lucifer of Obsidian.]

[Reward: 10% of Target’s Base Stats permanently absorbed.]

A massive rushing wave of pure divine energy suddenly erupted from the scattered golden dust.

It did not drift away into the atmosphere. The energy violently reversed course and pulled inward toward Lucifer.

It slammed into his chest and flooded his Level 50 Archmage core with the raw concentrated physical power and tactical authority of a Level 90 Celestial Sovereign.

Lucifer’s back arched slightly as the dense magic fused with his Void Arcanist pathways. His muscles thickened. The sheer physical density of his body skyrocketed!

But the system did not stop at raw stats.

[System Alert: High-Value Divinity Absorbed!]

[Source: Valerion, The Arch-God of War.]

[Anomaly Detected: Apex Multiplier interfering with Divine Absorption.]

"System," Lucifer commanded with his voice dropping to a low resonant rumble. "Apply the multiplier to the conceptual domain. Condense the mantle."

[Divine Talent: Apex Multiplier Activated!]

[Applying 10,000x multiplier to Conceptual Authority...]

[Forging Divine Artifact...]

The golden dust remaining in the air swirled violently! It pulled together directly above Lucifer’s head. It melted and fused into a solid physical object.

It dropped into his waiting iron-clad hand.

It was a crown.

But it was not the delicate golden jewelry of the human King he had crushed earlier. This was a brutal heavy crown forged of solid burning adamantine.

It radiated pure unadulterated aggressive military dominance.

[Item Acquired: Crown of Conquest]

[Tier: Divine Relic (Tier 10)]

[Effect: Projects the ’Aura of the War God’.]

"You forged his divinity into a hat," Vexia noted and hovered nearby. The Sanguine Princess crossed her arms and looked suitably impressed. "That is aggressively disrespectful. I love it."

Lucifer did not put the crown on his head. He held it up.

"Let’s see what a God’s authority can do when it’s pointed in the right direction," Lucifer said smoothly.

He did not target the angels. He targeted his own city.

Lucifer channeled his Void Arcanist mana directly into the heavy adamantine crown.

"Activate Aura," Lucifer commanded.

A blinding explosive shockwave of deep crimson and gold light erupted from the Crown of Conquest! It washed over Lucifer, Elara, Lyra, and Celeste, and then blasted downward and completely enveloped the floating mountain of Zephyria.

The effect was instantaneous, planetary, and absolute!

[System: Aura of the War God Applied.]

[Target: 13,000,000+ Allied Entities.]

[Effect: Absolute Fear Immunity. Base Stats +300%. Weapons permanently infused with Void-Fire.]

Down in the courtyards, the thirteen million mortal soldiers gasped in unison.

The lingering exhaustion, fear, and fatigue from the brutal campaign were instantly eradicated! Their muscles bulged with impossible divine strength.

Their standard steel swords, spears, and halberds suddenly ignited and burned with a fierce crackling pitch-black fire that radiated intense heat.

"By the Emperor!" the scarred Templar Captain roared and stared at his burning broadsword in absolute awe. "We are gods!"

The Aether-Steel Dragoons and the Arcane Sentinel Titans also received the buff. Their blue runic veins shifted to a deep violent violet as their processing power and physical mass tripled.

The fifty thousand Glacial Wyrms roared and their white scales gleamed with dark energy.

The mortal army was no longer a squishy vanguard. They were an unstoppable hyper-lethal tide of destruction.

Lucifer looked up at the trembling panicked ranks of the Golden Fleet.

"The War God is dead," Lucifer’s voice thundered across the Heavens and was amplified perfectly by his new domain. He raised the ruby-red Blade of Ruin. "But the war is just starting."

He brought the sword down and pointed the tip directly at the densest formation of Seraphim.

"Kill them all," Lucifer commanded.

The response was a deafening apocalyptic war cry from thirteen million throats.

The Star-Kissed Elves on the battlements opened fire. Eight thousand sniper rounds, now infused with Void-Fire and hitting with 300% increased damage, ripped through the sky.

The volley did not just pierce the angelic armor. It detonated violently upon impact and blew massive black-fire holes straight through the rigid formations.

Thousands of Seraphim were vaporized in the opening second.

The Dragoons and the Glacial Wyrms launched from the city and swarmed the sky in a chaotic brutal melee.

The Wyrms tore into the spinning wheels of fire. Their newly buffed strength allowed them to literally bite through the solid gold constructs.

And then, the mortals attacked.

They did not wait on the walls. The sheer adrenaline and divine buff completely overrode their common sense.

"Charge!" Lady Scarlett roared. The mercenary captain leaped off the high battlements and plunged toward the hard-light highway below.

She landed heavily with her buffed stats absorbing the impact effortlessly. She swung her twin Void-Fire curved swords and sliced cleanly through the legs of a towering golden-armored Seraph.

The rest of the army followed. Millions of soldiers poured out of Zephyria’s gates and stormed onto the glowing hard-light highways that connected the celestial fortresses.

It was a massive black-flame-wielding stampede of pure violence.

The angels broke.

The Celestial Vanguard, the undisputed elite military force of the cosmos, completely lost their nerve. They had watched their Arch-God die in a duel, and now they were being physically overpowered by mortal peasants swinging black fire.

"Fall back! Retreat to the Solar Throne!" a Seraph commander shrieked, turned, and flew desperately away from the slaughter.

The rout was absolute!

Millions of angels broke formation and fled across the golden sky. They dropped their plasma swords and abandoned their chariots.

They swarmed toward the massive inner sanctums of the Silver Citadel. They were desperate to put walls between themselves and the terrifying buffed human army.

"They are running like whipped dogs," Elara noted and a fierce satisfied smile touched her lips. She rested her spear on her shoulder and watched the golden fleet scatter.

"Let them run," Lucifer said smoothly. He hooked the Crown of Conquest onto his belt next to the Heart of Ruin.

He did not order a blind pursuit. The enemy was broken, but the Silver Citadel was vast. Rushing blindly into the inner sanctums was a tactical error.

"Celeste," Lucifer commanded over the comms. "Halt the infantry advance. Secure the immediate hard-light highways and establish a perimeter. Do not overextend."

"Understood, Grand Marshal!" Celeste yelled back and her voice was thick with battle-joy. "We are holding the bridgehead! They are leaving all their shiny toys behind!"

Lucifer turned back to the floating city of Zephyria.

"Sarah," Lucifer ordered. "Move the city forward. Anchor us over the nearest secured sector."

"Plotting course," the Oracle confirmed.

The massive black mountain drifted smoothly through the golden sky and moved past the shattered remnants of the angelic blockade.

Zephyria hovered to a stop directly over a massive beautiful floating island of pristine white marble. It was covered in lush glowing silver flora and perfectly manicured tiered gardens.

It was a breathtakingly peaceful serene location. It completely contrasted the brutal slaughter that had just occurred.

[System: Location Secured.]

[Name: The Hanging Gardens of Elysium.]

[Status: Occupied by Zephyrian Forces.]

Lucifer walked back through the pitch-black Void-shield and onto the balcony of his central keep.

The immediate threat was neutralized. The Vanguard was dead, the War God was absorbed, and the heavens were officially occupied territory.

"We hold here for the night," Lucifer announced to his commanders. "Let the men loot the outer fortresses. Let the angels panic behind their walls. Tomorrow, we march on the capital."

He sheathed the Blade of Ruin.

"Dismissed," Lucifer said smoothly.

Elara, Celeste, and Vexia nodded and moved off to manage the logistics of their respective legions.

Lucifer stood alone on the balcony for a moment and looked out over the glowing peaceful gardens of Elysium below.

He had done it. He had breached heaven, killed a god, and planted his flag in the clouds!

But as he watched the silver flora gently sway in the celestial breeze, he noticed a lone figure sitting quietly on a white marble bench near a burning statue of an angel.

It was Lyra.

The Dawn Saintess had not joined the slaughter on the highways. She had retreated to the gardens. She sat perfectly still and stared at the destruction.

Lucifer frowned slightly. He stepped off the balcony, activated Void Step, and materialized flawlessly a few feet away from her in the quiet glowing garden.
