I Reincarnated as The Protagonist's Best Friend
Chapter 55: Looking For Info
Quash thought for a while and decided that he will challenge at night. There are few reasons. And it’s not because he is tired. It is because he wants to study his opponent first. Since the Top 100 is going to officially do fist fight tonight, it will be an excellent opportunity.
Even outside of Top 100, there are Limit Breakers who are bulldozing through the ranks. Just like the opponent he faced before. And among Top 100, Quash feared that the lowest possible stat range is near 200 over all. That’s just how massive the gap is. So he doesn’t want to take any risk of getting into a hopeless fight for no reason.
He will study his opponent first, then decide weather or not he will challenge for the Top 20. And even if he does, he needs to make sure that he wins with just enough time before the Ranking Battle is over.
If he decided to challenge and won by any chance then someone else challenged him for his rank, he will lose everything at the last moment. And there’s nothing more painful than that.
Because he knows that there is a very high chance of him losing without even knowing how. That’s just how powerful the Top 100 are.
So for now, he will go back to the Inn for good rest and shower.
"Hey Alan. I’m going back to the Inn, wanna tag along?"
"Nah bro. I need to cranck up my rank. It does not feel good to be over taken like that."
"Alright. Take care bro. Don’t push yourself too hard."
With that, Quash got up and exited the arena. There wasn’t anyone to snitch and tell the paparazzi about his exit in this Battle Hall, mainly because the pressure of event end was looming over everyone. They were busy increasing their rank. While other reason is, no one actually cared enough to lust after the little money of paparazzi.
But Quash also knew that if he didn’t do anything, he will be swarmed which is not something he wants at the moment. Every second counts. And he also wasn’t willing to give those pathetic bunch any content worth selling about him other than their own embarrassment.
So, he went to the rest room, pulled out a robe from his Spatial Ring . He dropped it over his shoulders, pulled up the hood and now he looked like a mage. But Quash looked at himself in the mirror and felt something was missing. He hunched a bit, and pulled his hood even further.
Changing his vibe. Quash nodded with a smile. He then took out a long stick he borrowed without telling(stole). With that, his preparation was complete. He looked like a mage whose "avoid people" stat was cranked up to max.
Quash walked out of the restroom. There wasn’t many people here at this hour. Or rather, most of the time. As people got stronger, their natural anatomy starts to change.
And at some point, they stop producing waste altogether. Of course Quash was no where near that level. Nor was anyone in the first year in that matter. But they definitely needed to use restrooms less frequently.
Thus the scene of empty restrooms. Even though there are nearly 10,000 people here.
Quash neared the exit of the Battle Hall and saw may exiting as well. They probably going to eat something, or take a short rest and come back quick. Quash joined them with his gloomy aura. When he stepped outside, he noticed that there were many paparazzi but they were lax. But they will swarm the moment they see anything worth capturing.
Quash quietly made his way out and after a while, stored his borrowed(stolen) stick inside his Spatial Ring. Also the robe. He didn’t care if someone saw. This was the last day before the Academy City will be completely closed off to normal people.
Quash reached the Inn after a while of walk. The atmosphere in Academy City was hyper active. Everyone was moving with an urgency that was hard to explain.
Quash went to his room, took a long shower before stepping out. He ordered food to eat then waited as he thought of his situation. Through this 7 days, his improvement was insane. Not in terms of Stats but skills. He had probably cracked up his Flowing Water Footwork Technique and Tri-Sword Formation to Master Lv.10.
He also figured out a way to use Aura in a way that makes up for his short comings. Even by a little bit. Although he only knows how to use Lighting through Attribute Superimposition at he moment, he is confident that he will be able to change that completely. But he didn’t get the chance to figure out because he learned it just today.
So instead of trying to be master of all, he instead focused on mastering what he has. And that’s what gave him confidence to face someone from the Top 100.
But that person needs to be slower than him. If his estimates were correct, when he used Attribute Superimposition to force his Pure Aura to act like lightning, his speed becomes equivalent to someone with Dexterity Stats of 170 to 200.
That’s an insane jump but the cost is just as high. His legs literally melted from the heat generated from it. And speed is the only advantage he has.
Then there was calculation of Administrative Formation. Since it said that he has earned the right to Challenge the 20th Rank, then it must mean there was some ways to beat that guy. He holds even a smallest bit of advantage that made the Formation determine that he has a small chance of winning.
Though it is entirely up to him if he could win or not. It all boiled down to skills and execution.
So without further adue, Quash started to look for informations regarding the 20th Rank. And as he read, a smile involuntarily appeared on his face.
