Tristan Lawson’s expression changed in an instant. He helped Noelle Sutton up and immediately got a cup of water for her to rinse her mouth.

His guilt intensified.

’He had gone too far. He had really hurt her.’

He took a towel, dipped it in water, wrung it out, and wiped her face clean. He even combed her hair until it was perfectly neat.

Only then did he say, his voice pained, "Let’s go to the hospital."

He moved to pick her up, but she dodged him, turning to walk into the bathroom. Then she went to the kitchen and made a glass of light saltwater to rinse her mouth.

’She wouldn’t go to the hospital with Tristan Lawson.’

’She didn’t want him to know about her cancer. Last night, she had realized that even after what had happened the night before, he still had no intention of letting her go.’

’He always found a way to drive away anyone who tried to help her.’

’Bringing her here was a light punishment. If she resisted, she couldn’t even imagine where he might take her.’

’She especially didn’t want him to find out about the cancer.’

’It was her last way to get away from him. She wouldn’t let him discover it.’

She walked to the side of the bed, slipped under the covers, lay down, and turned her head to face the other way.

Tristan Lawson approached, leaned down, and whispered, "Be good. Let’s go to the hospital, hmm?"

The person on the bed didn’t move.

He was anxious but held it in, saying in a gentle, coaxing tone, "I know you’re in a bad mood and angry at me, but you can’t neglect your health. You’ve coughed up blood. You have to go to the hospital."

Noelle Sutton finally turned over slowly and signed to him, "Why did I cough up blood? Don’t you know why?"

The man’s heart clenched.

’If she went to the hospital with him, the cancer would easily be discovered.’

’Her only choice was to put the blame on him.’

Tristan Lawson’s stern features twisted, his guilt deepening.

After a moment, he said in a hoarse voice, "If you don’t want to go to the hospital, at least eat something."

She pointed to her throat and signed, "It hurts. I can’t eat."

Then, she pulled her hands under the covers and turned her back to him.

Tristan Lawson’s body trembled.

’Thinking of his own beastly actions, he didn’t dare mention her eating again.’

’But with her refusing to go to the hospital and refusing to eat, this couldn’t go on.’

Afraid of disturbing her, he stepped outside.

Noelle Sutton heard Tristan Lawson’s low voice on the phone.

She took out her phone and sent the materials from her reports to the Women’s Federation and the Disabled Persons’ Federation to Old Master Lawson, including the medical evaluation report from her hospital visit.

I want to divorce Tristan Lawson, but he refuses and is haunting me relentlessly. If the Lawson Family can’t convince him to agree to a divorce, my only choice is to hand these documents over to the police. I am a person with a disability, and the judiciary will pursue this more severely. If this gets to the police, you know better than I do how much it will affect the Lawson Corporation!

She didn’t have time to keep dragging this out with Tristan Lawson.

Tristan Lawson would definitely find a way to get lawyers to handle it. Even if he were temporarily detained, his lawyers would be able to bail him out.

She didn’t have many days left. It had been over five weeks since she was diagnosed with cancer.

She just wanted to get away from Tristan Lawson in the quickest way possible.

When Old Master Lawson suddenly received the message from Noelle Sutton, he almost fainted.

’Tristan Lawson had actually done something like this to Noelle Sutton?’

’Did he really have to do that?’

’If he had needs and Noelle Sutton refused, couldn’t he find another woman anywhere?’

’Noelle Sutton was a mute. For him to assault her like that... Did he have a fetish for the disabled?’

Other than that, Old Master Lawson couldn’t think of any other reason why Tristan Lawson would force himself on Noelle Sutton.

But this matter could not be taken lightly.

Old Master Lawson took the opportunity to simply collapse.

Soon, just after Tristan Lawson contacted the Lawson family’s doctor and hung up, a call from Nathaniel Lawson came in.

His voice was frantic. "Tristan, you need to get to the hospital, fast! The Old Master collapsed." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"If he collapsed, call a doctor. What’s the use in calling me? I’m not a doctor, I can’t treat him!"

With that, Tristan Lawson hung up the phone.

Nathaniel Lawson fumed into the phone, "That damn brat! His grandfather is sick and he won’t even come back!"

Seeing that faking his illness hadn’t worked, Old Master Lawson opened his eyes and said in exasperation, "All of you, figure something out! Get Tristan back here for me!"

Nathaniel Lawson’s eyelids twitched. He asked in confusion, "Dad, you didn’t collapse?"

"What? Are you unhappy that I didn’t collapse?"

Nathaniel Lawson muttered, "No wonder Tristan won’t come back. He probably guessed you were faking it, old man!"

Old Master Lawson’s expression turned utterly foul. Having such a sharp and capable grandson... he truly didn’t know if it was a blessing or a curse.

Old Master Lawson’s thoughts shifted. "Um... Nathaniel, I want you to go to the cemetery now, damage Tristan’s mother’s gravestone, and then call him."

Nathaniel Lawson’s face changed drastically when he heard this. "Dad, what kind of twisted idea is this? You want me to damage Hannah’s gravestone? What if Hannah comes looking for me in the middle of the night?"

The dead deserved respect. There were some superstitions you just had to believe in, especially for a family like theirs that valued ancestral blessings.

"Let me ask you this: are you more afraid of Tristan’s mother visiting you at night, or are you more afraid of Tristan going to jail?"

"Tristan committed a crime?" Nathaniel Lawson raised an eyebrow. "Impossible. I don’t believe it."

"Are you trying to anger me to death? If it weren’t true, would I be telling you to mess with Tristan’s mother’s gravestone? Or what, you think you can fake an illness and get your son to come back?"

Nathaniel Lawson shook his head repeatedly. If the Old Master faking an illness couldn’t get him back, it was highly unlikely he could either.

"There you have it. Besides something involving his mother, can you think of any other way to get him back here immediately? Tell me! If you can’t, then you’d better go have a nice long talk with Tristan’s mother before you do it!"

Old Master Lawson’s words were absolute. Nathaniel Lawson was completely out of options; he truly couldn’t think of any other way to get Tristan Lawson back right away.

Feeling utterly helpless, Nathaniel Lawson knew this was something he couldn’t ask anyone else to do. He had to "discuss" it with Tristan’s mother himself. Nathaniel arrived at the cemetery with some offerings, which he laid out. As he burned joss paper, he explained the situation to Hannah Hughes. He told her that their son was about to go to jail, that he trusted she would understand his actions, and begged her not to blame him, as he was only doing it for their son.

Tristan Lawson had left his phone on, as he was waiting for the family doctor. He would need to go downstairs to let them in.

Just as he was greeting the family doctor, a call came in from Hugo Sterling.

Tristan Lawson didn’t answer.

Hugo Sterling had sent out numerous people, practically turning Glenwater upside down, but after a whole night, there was still no news of Tristan Lawson.

Tristan Lawson had specifically arranged for a gentle female doctor who also knew some psychology.

He led the female doctor inside. Noelle Sutton was lying on the bed with her eyes closed.

Tristan Lawson gently patted her shoulder and said in a low, soft voice, "Noelle, I brought the doctor. Let her take a look at you..."

Just then, Tristan Lawson’s phone rang. It was Nathaniel Lawson calling.

Tristan Lawson frowned and answered the phone.

"Tristan, this is bad. I don’t know how it happened, but your mother’s gravestone is suddenly damaged. It’s broken in half. You need to get over here and see."
