I Will Conquer The Seas and Gods
Chapter 101: Lunarti of the Moon*
Dawn found herself back in the Unseen Realm. A strange calmness spread throughout her body.
Lunarti... That quickly?
For a moment, Dawn didn’t know how to react.
The Crescente Spear had explained that the user would gradually become a worshipper of the Reflected Moon God, Lunarti, but this... this didn’t seem like something gradual.
After just the first time entering the Unseen Realm, Dawn was granted the opportunity to speak to this god.
She remained standing on the sand, sceptical.
Part of her wanted to hear this god out, but a much larger part warned her to be careful.
Treasure-Eater Nammon had traumatised all of the Redflower Pirates. It was a great example of just how evil the sea gods could be. Not to mention her encounter with Sea God Daedalus in the Maze Sea.
Then why... why do I feel so inclined to accept? 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Dawn tried to fight against her urges, but she managed to convince herself. Why? Because she felt a strange calmness immediately after being given the offer.
Most gods brought their believers great pain when speaking to them, but with Lunarti, it was different.
Therefore, Dawn came to the conclusion that the least she could do was hear the god out.
[Yes], she replied within her mind.
The ocean ahead of her stirred slightly. The moon reflected in the water grew larger, whilst the moon above remained unseen.
After the waters stilled and became gentle again, Dawn was given her offer.
[Lunarti’s Offering:]
[You receive: Powers in the domain of moonlight and reflections.]
[You lose: The need and ability to sleep.]
...
The offer hung in the air for a few moments. Dawn was left stunned.
This... doesn’t seem too bad.
She stood there in thought for what felt like another five minutes, going over the pros and cons of the offer.
There were no negatives to gaining powers in the domains of moonlight and reflections. As for losing the ability to sleep, she also lost the need for it too?
Could it really be so bad?
She decided to ask a question, wishing to use this opportunity to communicate with the god whilst she could.
[How will I replenish my energy and get rid of fatigue and tiredness?]
Dawn waited for a few seconds before a response appeared in her mind.
[Lunarti says that by entering the Unseen Realm, you can replenish your energy.]
So all I would need to do is spend more time in the Unseen Realm? This trade... doesn’t it only make sense to accept?
[What is your response?]
The sailor system urged Dawn for an answer. This made her wonder what was behind the strange system and why it seemed to be in a rush.
Putting that thought aside, she gave her response.
[I accept.]
...
Following these words, Dawn found the strange presence leaving her mind and her body returning to the physical world.
Life returned to the beach. The animals and insects continued to move, and the winds blew once again.
"..."
Dawn didn’t move for a second, not realising that she was holding her breath too. This was a natural response after returning to the real world.
Due to the effects that came with moving in the Unseen Realm, the caution sometimes carried over.
After letting out a deep breath and relaxing her body, Dawn checked her Supreme System.
—SUPREME SYSTEM—
Patron God: Lunarti
Pact Rank: Follower
Progress: 0/100
[Conditions]
[You receive: Powers in the domain of moonlight and reflections.]
[You lose: The need and ability to sleep.]
[Powers]
[Reflected Fate]
Force a target to experience a reflection of their own actions. A significant portion of the damage or conditions they inflict on you returns to them.
"This... this is incredible?"
Dawn found a great smile spreading across her face.
In truth, she had always desired greater combat strength. In her mind, all the greatest pirates and sailors she had met so far had the capacity to deal ferocious damage to their enemies.
Her blessing had not given her the direct ability to attack others. However, it allowed her to damage those who decided to attack her.
So if someone shoots me, I can have that damage returned to them!
I’m sure it will take a lot out of me to use this, but I can only imagine how useful this will be in battle. Especially against those who don’t know about my power.
She wanted to try it right now, but sadly, there were no enemies around.
Dawn scratched her head in deep thought.
I need to go and tell Rose!
...
In the Yazuan Church...
"You... You actually hunted him."
Roseus stood alone in the Yazuan Church, which was located close to the tavern he was staying at.
Blodwen and Lencho had returned to rest up, whilst Roseus was claiming the bounty.
Priest Bolajide, an older dark-skinned man with thick, curly black hair, took the head from Roseus’ hand and examined it closely.
Roseus nodded his head.
"He was strong, but I was a difficult match-up for him."
"You have lightning resistance?" Bolajide asked after confirming that the head was Mikoto’s.
Roseus nodded.
"Then you must be a blessing from Yazu herself," Bolajide said before drawing a strange symbol on his chest with his hands. "Wait here. I will collect your rewards."
As Bolajide walked away, he couldn’t help but keep thinking over the situation.
Just who is this new captain? Word will spread of this. I will make sure of it.
...
Bolajide headed to the back rooms of the church and returned with two items in his hand.
One was a brown sack filled with metal objects that continuously clanked together. It contained the 26,000 Halos. These were not the standard golden Halos, otherwise they wouldn’t have fit in the bag. Instead, they were made from a special compound created by the government themselves. One of these platinum-coloured Halos represented one hundred Halos.
With this, Roseus could now purchase the two treasures from the store.
And on top of that, Priest Bolajide handed him another item. It was a chest that was roughly as long as an adult’s arm.
Roseus took it in his hand and pulled open the chest. Inside, a hammer looked out at him.
He hefted the weapon in his hand. It looked like a smithing tool, with a wooden handle and a black head. It looked plain, nothing like Admiral Grace’s weapon.
However, when he saw its effects, all thoughts of complaint left his mind.
A smile spread across Roseus’ face as he accepted the item. He chuckled.
"Pip will appreciate this."
