I'm 90 years old and the system tells me it's time to create harem
Chapter 103: Why are you flirting with her right in front of us as if we don’t even exist?
"You’re saying the two of them are being hunted down? Very well, very well, I understand! Don’t do anything rash where you are; I’ll be right there!" Alexander leapt to his feet, pivoted to face Laura and the others, and grinned.
"I’ve located Robert and Louis; they’re together. I’ll leave a ghost to guide you. They’re in danger, so I’ll go ahead to provide support!" With that said, Alexander unleashed the power of wind elementals and, in an instant, acquired the ability to fly, much like a superman.
Laura’s face lit up with joy, and she exclaimed, "Let’s go provide backup as well! As expected, our husband truly is the most powerful and never fails to surprise us."
...
Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, Robert was drenched in blood, gripping a blade and staring intently at a man in black before him.
Behind him lay Louis, coughing up blood and barely hanging onto life. Signs of battle were everywhere: towering trees lay toppled and the corpses of the Order of the Wandering Oracles’ disciples littered the ground. They had just survived a major battle.
Gasping for air, Robert inquired, "Louis, are you alright?"
Cradling a deep, bone-visible wound on his chest, Louis panted, "I don’t think I’ll last much longer, Robert. Run! We’re no match for him!"
Beside Louis, a girl clad in a white robe was supporting him; her clothes were already stained with blood. She turned her gaze toward the man in black and panted, "This man is one of the six hall masters of the Order of the Wandering Oracles, Hell Hall’s Master Fire Ghost. He’s extremely strong.
Do you see the sword he’s holding, ablaze with fire? That blade can generate corpse flames that, once attached to your body, burn like the fires of Hell and won’t extinguish until you’re dead. One of my senior brothers died at his hands!"
The girl was named Lan Xi, a fellow traveler whom Robert and his companions had encountered on their perilous journey. Originating from a Daoist temple in an Eastern country, she had arrived in the Amazon three days prior, following her master after sensing the resurgence of spiritual energy in the world.
Unfortunately, she was separated from her master during the chaos that had ensued just a day before.
Clenching his teeth, Robert asked, "Lan Xi, what’s the extent of your abilities?"
Struggling to her feet, Lan Xi panted, "Big brother, my talent level is S, and I’m currently at Level 35. However, I’m not proficient in combat; I can assist you."
Robert’s fists tightened, his teeth gritting in silent fury.
Damn it all!
Was today truly going to be their last? Had he not been ambushed by a gigantic ruler on the plane, he could’ve at least escaped this fiend. But now, burdened with these two, how could they possibly flee?
Louis gasped, "Robert, just go! Staying here is a one-way ticket to death!"
"Shut up!" Robert roared. "You’re distracting me!"
With a wry smile, Louis coughed up another mouthful of blood. "I never thought you’d be the one not to abandon me, despite always looking down on me. Now I see why Alexander always considered you a brother—you are indeed someone to be trusted."
Trembling from head to toe, Robert screamed, "Don’t mention him in front of me!"
Watching this unfolding drama, the man in black across from them sneered coldly, clapping his hands.
"Such an emotionally charged scene! Is this what you call brotherly love in the face of adversity? Haha, but it’s useless; none of you will escape today. You’re all going to die here!"
Behind him, dozens of disciples from the Order of the Wandering Oracles all revealed sardonic smiles, each brandishing their weapons as they closed in slowly.
With malevolent grace, Fire Ghost extended his arm; his blade instantly ignited with black flames. In a voice dripping with icy menace, he cooed, "How would you like to die? I can certainly oblige."
Gasping for breath, Robert retorted, "Are you insane? Haven’t you ever heard of the theorem that villains die because they talk too much? Keep running your mouth, and you won’t even know how you died!"
Stunned for a second, Fire Ghost burst into laughter, his disciples following suit, as if they’d just heard the world’s greatest joke.
Fire Ghost roared with laughter, "Do you think we’re in a movie or something? Villains die because they talk too much? Hahaha! This is, by far, the funniest thing I’ve ever heard! You really think someone will come to save you? You might as well pray for a sword to fall from the sky and kill me. Hahaha!"
His disciples joined in, laughing even more uproariously. "Exactly! That’s even more likely!"
"Indeed! This is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard!"
Eyes narrowing, Fire Ghost suddenly brandished his blade ablaze, proclaiming, "Remember this, I never believe in such theo—"
But before he could complete his sentence, an overwhelming burst of golden light sliced through the sky. A sonic boom heralded its descent. In a split second, a golden spiritual sword plummeted from the heavens.
With a sickening squelch, the sword speared straight through Fire Ghost’s skull, perforating his body in full view of the incredulous crowd. Life drained from his eyes instantly, leaving them forever unblinking.
Silence enveloped the scene. His disciples, and Robert’s party alike, could only gawk in stupefied horror.
Then, chaos erupted.
"He’s impaled! The boss got impaled!"
"Where did that sword come from?!"
"Oh my God!"
In the very next moment, a voice rang out from the heavens. "Robert, Louis, are you guys okay?"
Everyone lifted their heads in shock and disbelief, only to see a man gently descending from the sky, alighting upon the hilt of the golden spiritual sword.
Joy and amazement instantly flickered across the faces of Robert and his companions.
"Alexander?!"
Lan xi’s eyes widened in delight, her hand covering her mouth as if beholding a god. She was completely captivated by Alexander’s arresting good looks as he descended from the sky, her heart pounding in her chest.
Was he a god? Had the divine heard her prayers and come to their rescue?
What a stunning god he was!
Feeling a bit dizzy, she turned her head and saw the excitement mirrored on Louis and the others’ faces. "You know him?"
Louis exclaimed, "He’s Alexander, our companion. The strongest among us! We’re saved!"
Alexander offered a slight smile as he touched down. With a swift movement, he withdrew the spiritual sword, absorbing it back into himself.
"Who are you?!" stammered a disciple from the Order of the Wandering Oracles.
Alexander slowly turned his head and grinned, "You could call me Superman if you like. Do I resemble him?"
Because he had been practicing the Supreme Yin-Yang Dual Cultivation Technique, Alexander appeared increasingly youthful. Not only had he regained his youthful appearance, but he looked even more dashing than before.
At this moment, he resembled nothing less than a god of war. The only things distinguishing him from Superman would be a cape and the habit of wearing underpants on the outside.
The disciples of the Order of the Wandering Oracles were instantly cowed, their minds conjuring up an impossibly grand figure. Even Louis and the others were momentarily stunned, standing rooted to the spot.
What?
Aren’t you Alexander? Who else could you be? Since when did you become Superman?
The disciple from the Order of the Wandering Oracles stepped back trembling, muttering, "Could it be that you are..."
Alexander turned, speaking softly, "No, I’m not Superman. But with my abilities, one day I’ll surpass even him."
Lanxi clasped her hand over her mouth, murmuring, "So... so handsome..."
In the next instant, the disciples from the Order of the Wandering Oracles turned on their heels and sprinted wildly into the forest, shouting, "Run! Run fast!"
Alexander swiftly extended his arm. His garments fluttered in a brilliant white light as an elemental shockwave burst forth toward them.
"Thinking of running? Do you really think I’d give you that opportunity?" Alexander roared.
Immediately, under the astonished gazes of Lanxi and her companions, the shockwave streaked like a cannonball, piercing through the bodies of the fleeing Order of the Wandering Oracles disciples.
The disciples’ bodies disintegrated, torn to shreds by the elemental force.
"It’s a pity they had to die," Alexander mused somberly.
Louis and Robert stood frozen, swallowing hard.
So powerful...
Lan xi stared dumbfounded at the unfolding scene, her youthful heart wildly aflutter.
He’s so handsome! How could someone this dashing even exist in the world?
Finally, she thought, the hero has come to rescue the damsel.
Though it was a cliché, the pounding in her chest made it feel unbelievably real. Could he be her prince?
Then, right in front of a dazed Lan xi, Alexander strolled over. He blatantly ignored the gravely injured Louis and Robert and courteously extended his hand toward her.
A tender, considerate smile graced Alexander’s face—warm as sunshine and full of care.
"Miss, are you alright?"
Lanxi’s face turned a vivid shade of red as she stared at Alexander.
This handsome man had just flashed her the softest, most tender smile!
So gentle...
"I’m... I’m fine... Thank you for saving me, big brother!" Lan xi blushed, hastily extending her hand.
Alexander shook his head, smiling, "Helping others is what I should do. There’s no need for excessive formalities."
Lan xi’s heart pounded even faster, her face growing a deeper shade of red, as she said, "Big brother, can I hug you? You make me feel so safe."
Alexander opened his arms, saying, "Of course you may—"
Just then, he spotted Laura and the triplet sisters approaching quickly. Alexander decisively shook his head while maintaining his enchanting smile, "I apologize, Miss. No need to thank me; it’s a small matter."
Lan xi’s admiration for Alexander soared to new heights. He truly was the perfect god of a man! Restrained, polite, and formidable—his character flawless.
She felt as if she were on the verge of tears. A man like this, she mused, would be a once-in-ten-lifetimes encounter.
I really want to have his child!
What went unnoticed, however, were Louis and Robert, sitting dumbfounded in the background.
They watched the unfolding romantic exchange, feeling like irrelevant bystanders, mere extras on a stage lit by someone else’s brilliance.
But Alexander... Wasn’t your purpose for coming here to save us? Why are you flirting with her right in front of us as if we don’t even exist?
Can you at least look at us? We are dying here!
Finally, after a long while, Alexander turned his attention to the injured Louis and Robert. Startled, he rushed over and helped them up, asking, "Louis, Robert, how did the two of you get so severely injured?"
