I'm 90 years old and the system tells me it's time to create harem
Chapter 78: Strong defensive power
The gates of the villa slowly opened, and out walked Louis, dressed in a suit, intently sizing up Alexander.
He said:"Mr. Alexander, we are from the Supernatural Research Association. We kindly request your cooperation, as we have some matters we’d like to inquire about."
...
A few minutes later, in the living room.
Sofia gently placed two cups of coffee in front of Alexander and Louis, saying, "Please, have some tea."
Alexander, reclining on a leather sofa, took a sip of his coffee and smiled, saying, "Supernatural Research Association? I’m sorry, but I’ve never heard of it."
Louis seriously regarded the young man seated across from him. From the moment he walked through the door, he felt a sense of familiarity.
Before arriving, he had investigated; this estate was the property of America’s wealthiest individual, but for some unknown reason, a young man was now residing here.
Moreover, not only was this young man named Alexander, but upon close examination, it was clear that his appearance bore a striking resemblance to the young Alexander, the wealthy magnate.
Could it be that he was the magnate’s illegitimate child? After all, Alexander had let everyone know via social media that he was planning to build an enormous harem.
But this had only been a few months ago; how could he already have a child?
Louis pondered the situation but couldn’t figure out what had happened.
Regardless, Alexander’s status was highly noble, and if it weren’t for this incident involving something beyond human comprehension, probably no one would dare investigate him.
Louis spoke with a humble tone: "It doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of us. Our organization operates under the United Nations, and we were just established a year ago. Our task is to investigate supernatural incidents occurring within society, to maintain social stability."
"Be it ghosts, witchcraft, psychic abilities, or otherwise, they all fall within the scope of our investigation."
Louis looked up, his eyes filled with profound meaning, and then pulled several photographs from a file, saying:"Mr. Alexander, may I ask which of these categories you belong to?"
Alexander looked at the photos placed on the table before him, images captured by passersby of his previous climb up the skyscraper.
He was not surprised and leaned back on the sofa, smiling as he said:"It was George who told you, wasn’t it?"
Louis didn’t conceal anything and said calmly, "He cooperated with us fully, Mr. Alexander, and we also found out that you went to the Psychic Association’s headquarters afterward and had a significant conflict with their members."
"We discovered the pilot’s corpse among the helicopter wreckage, dead from the explosion. Aside from that, a council member of the Psychic Association, Simba, is dead. I suspect you killed him too. Your existence has already posed a considerable threat to society."
"We have every reason to arrest you," Louis said gravely.
Alexander smiled, not at all perturbed, and replied, "Then why haven’t you made your move?"
Louis crossed his arms and said lightly, "We’d like to talk to you first, but if that falls through, this will be our final solution for you."
Alexander grinned, "So, you’re threatening me?"
Louis was impassive and then pulled out a handgun from his jacket, placing it on the table, saying, "We know ordinary bullets have no effect on you, so we’ve prepared special armor-piercing rounds for you. These bullets can easily penetrate ten centimeters of tank armor from a kilometer away. At close range..."
Louis looked up, his expression blank, "We haven’t found anything it can’t penetrate yet."
The room fell into silence, the atmosphere growing increasingly tense.
"That powerful?" A spark of interest gleamed in Alexander’s eyes as he swiftly grabbed the gun.
"Don’t move!"
"Drop the gun!"
The surrounding special forces were on high alert, aiming their dark barrels at Alexander.
Louis held out a hand, stopping them, looking calmly at Alexander and saying, "Mr. Alexander is my friend. I believe you won’t do anything rash, am I right?"
Alexander toyed with the gun, speaking slowly, "You’re testing me. You’re confident, thinking you have me figured out, so you dare place a gun before me."
"Confidence is a good thing, but sometimes..."
He slowly raised the gun, clicked off the safety, and then smiled as he aimed it at his head.
"It depends on the situation, the place, and the person."
Their eyes widened in astonishment.
Louis’s eyes narrowed instantly, a glimmer of wariness in them.
What was he doing?
They were well aware of the power of this bullet, as fragile as paper against a human head.
Alexander’s face maintained its smile, "Do you think the bullets in this gun can harm me?"
Louis’s eyes widened, "What are you trying to do!"
Alexander said slowly, "Exactly what it sounds like..."
"Don’t be reckless!"
The surrounding special forces’ eyes widened, an indescribable shock in their eyes.
This was an armor-piercing bullet, not an ordinary one; he couldn’t be serious!
Alexander smiled, "Today, I’ll show you what real strength is."
Under the stunned gaze of all the special forces, Alexander pulled the trigger.
Bang!
"What the hell!"
Bang!
"What the hell!"
Bang, bang, bang!
"What the hell!"
Alexander fired five shots, emptying the gun, smoke trailing from the barrel, his face still bearing that calm smile.
Including Louis, everyone was stunned by this scene.
Louis’s breathing became rapid, his heart pounding in his chest.
This is a specially made armor-piercing bullet! It can even break through tank armor!
Alexander remained unflinching, extending his hand and slowly opening it, smiling as he said:"Do you really think that the bullets in your guns can harm me, in the face of true strength?"
He opened his hand, and a flattened bullet head quietly rested in his palm.
The room fell into silence.
Everyone’s eyes widened, staring incredulously at the bullet head.
"He...he caught it with his hand!"
Incredible!
But wait, something’s not right!
The crowd spotted a problem, and their expressions turned blank.
He clearly fired five shots, so why was there only one bullet head in his hand?!
Where were the other four bullet heads?
They looked at each other, their breathing heavy, their gaze fixed on the floor, and then they were struck dumb.
There, on the floor, flattened bullet heads were embedded in the wood.
So, that meant...
They stiffly raised their heads to look at the composed Alexander.
He didn’t catch the other four bullets at all! They hit his head and then bounced off?!
Holy crap!!
This...This...
The hearts of the special forces soldiers skipped a beat, and even Louis’s face began to turn pale.
Looking at the smile on Alexander’s face, panic began to set in. How terrifying was this man?
Sophia asked quietly, "Does it hurt?"
Alexander forced a calm smile on his face, making himself look inscrutable, and whispered to her, "It hurts."
Maintaining his smile, Alexander thought to himself, "It seems I need to increase my speed. I’ve been focusing on strength lately, and I’m a bit slow, but it’s not a big problem."
Sophia said sympathetically, "Let me blow on it..."
"No need, with so many people watching," Alexander whispered back to her.
However, Sophia just smiled at Alexander, then gently raised her finger. A soft breeze came gently through the window, caressing Alexander’s face.
Alexander gave Sophia an appreciative look; after some practice, she had finally awakened her special ability.
Alexander placed the bullet on the table, his face calm, and said, "Louis, don’t naively think that these so-called armor-piercing bullets have the power to harm me. If you want to negotiate with me, show some sincerity."
"Besides, I don’t like being threatened."
Louis swallowed, shakily taking a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping the sweat from his forehead.
He’d made a mistake, a definite mistake.
He never expected this man to be so terrifying.Hit in the head with four armor-piercing bullets and still smiling, how strong must his defenses be!
Louis wiped his sweat, saying, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to threaten you. I was too rash before."
Alexander leaned back on the sofa, legs crossed, smiling as he said, "Also, Mr. Louis, let your three friends in, hiding on the roof of my house is rather impolite."
Louis’s expression froze.
Had he... had he discovered the people he’d secretly placed?
Looking at the inscrutable smile on Alexander’s face, Louis shuddered involuntarily.
With a wry smile, Louis said, "It seems I really can’t hide anything from you."
"Ava, Mia, Zoe, come out!"
Just as he finished speaking, Alexander curiously noticed the shadows on the floor slowly beginning to writhe.
A woman, clad in a tight black suit that accentuated her alluring figure, slowly emerged from the shadows. Two handguns hung at her waist, a dagger in her hand, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, looking exceptionally striking.
Louis said quietly, "Ava, a shadow spirit-walker, able to move within the shadows. She’s one of our Supernatural Bureau’s best psychic users."
Alexander rubbed his chin, interestedly saying, "Nice, quite interesting."
The woman stood behind Louis, her eyes coldly fixed on Alexander.
Soon, two women who looked exactly like Ava entered from outside, identical in height, appearance, and even figure.
Alexander questioned, "Shadow clones?"
Louis shook his head, saying, "No, they’re Ava’s triplet sisters, Mia and Zoe. Their abilities differ, though. Mia specializes in contortion, and Zoe can control fire."
Alexander looked the three identical women up and down, all of them staring coldly at him, and couldn’t help but exclaim, "Impressive, very impressive."
Louis said with a wry smile, "The three of them were among the first members to join our Association after its establishment. They are very skilled, but I’m afraid they can’t be compared to you."
