In The Apocalypse With My Sacred Dimension System
Chapter 180: Explain What You Got!
Finally, Theodore and the others arrived at their destination, only to realize that the place was much bigger than he had imagined. Theodore could tell that where they would meet with Victor was like a conference hall.
"Gosh, will there be a lot of people there?" Neville whispered to Chelsea, who was beside him.
"I think so. Do you think we’ll be sentenced to death there?" Chelsea whispered to Neville, who already looked scared.
Neville turned to Chelsea and hit her hand quite hard, "Can you not joke about something scary like that?"
"You’re so easy to scare like that." Chelsea giggled as she saw how scared Neville was.
Fortunately, the other three people who didn’t think much of their behavior were silent and didn’t say anything.
Finally, the large closed door opened, and the five entered the conference hall-like room. As Theodore had expected, there were many people inside the hall.
From what Theodore saw, there were many high-ranking soldiers in the hall; why did he know because he had seen them in his previous life? He didn’t know what they would do to him this time, but Theodore knew they wanted to extract information from him.
Victor was waiting for them in front of the hall. Madeline stopped her steps in the middle of the room and made the others stop their steps.
"I have brought them here as you wished, Captain." Madeline bowed her head, started walking toward Victor, and stood behind him afterward.
"You never disappoint me, Madeline." Victor grinned happily as he could finally see the rest of Theodore.
Some of the people sitting in the chairs that were quite far away from where the other Theodore was standing had already started whispering when they saw Theodore and the others enter the room.
Theodore was already uncomfortable in the room. All the gazes of the people in the room were on them. Theodore wanted to leave this place as soon as possible, so he asked Victor.
"Why did you call me to this place, Captain? If you want to hear a report from us, you can call us in your office as usual," Theodore said, looking straight into Victor’s eyes.
"Being seen by many higher-ups in the base like this, you will not hide important information from us. Therefore, with the suggestion of the higher-ups, I called you to this room," Victor explained later with a severe face.
To be honest, Victor was also pressured by his superiors to bring Theodore and the others to this place. If he complied with his wishes, he also did not want to give these officials the information that Theodore had.
But, because it was like this, Victor had to extract Theodore’s information after this trip. He had heard the strangeness of Theodore’s strength from Madeline.
Hearing Victor’s words, Theodore also gritted his teeth in annoyance. He had guessed that the higher-ups at the base had planned all of this.
"So now you have to tell me all the information you know. The higher-ups here will be very happy if you do it without a fight," Victor continued.
"I just want to remind you that I never said I worked for the military. You were the one who asked for my help to save your things. So there is no urgency for me to tell you the information I have," Theodore explained as he tugged at the corners of his lips.
Victor looked surprised when he heard Theodore’s words; he did not expect him to be so bold as to say something like that in front of the higher-ups on this base.
"You are high up in the base we created. You should share the information you have with us, " a voice said from the seats of the base officials.
"If you want information, you should send soldiers out," Theodore retorted, looking at the person in the voice.
"It seems you don’t know what we can do for you now. If you don’t want to reveal the information you have, then I and the others won’t let you out of this place alive."
Cassian, Chelsea, and Neville, who heard that, immediately got goosebumps; it was highly probable that they would not survive if Theodore remained stubborn like this.
Theodore himself laughed when he heard, "You think about it. Me and the others managed to survive after being surrounded by thousands of zombies. Do you th. Will I be afraid of your threat?"
Some of the higher-ups who heard that also looked at Theodore with various gazes. Some were laughing, and some were also quite annoyed and angry with Theodore’s words.
"But," Theodore continued, making everyone curious about what he would say.
"Since you have been kind enough to set up this base, I will provide some information that might be useful to you. Consider it my kindness to share this information with all of you here." Theodore ended his speech with a smile on his face.
The higher-ups here began to calm down when they heard Theodore’s explanation; they would also have difficulty fighting someone like Theodore.
"Of course, I expect a reward from you for sharing this information willingly. So tell me what I will get if I give you the information?" Theodore grinned as he looked at Victor, who was turning pale.
Victor had already experienced this, although the information he released was also worth the info he got from Theodore. Victor couldn’t believe Theodore would also use this trick on the higher-ups.
"You bastard!"
"Damn it, looks like he underestimated us!"
"It’s better that we send out our soldiers to gather our information."
Theodore chuckled as he heard the words of the people around him, already expecting that they would not reward him for sharing this information.
"Then I won’t open my mouth," Theodore said calmly.
"Theodore, if I could suggest that you give a little information to the higher-ups to make them trust your source of information," Victor said quickly.
"Ah! That’s right, the Captain is great!" Theodore nodded his head enthusiastically.
"Then I’ll tell you something about what happened in our city two days ago," said Theodore as he opened his voice to say what little information he had.
"From what we know, during this trip, there was a spike in the number of zombies in the city. You could say that the number of zombies roaming every street in this city has doubled," Theodore said about the spike in the number of zombies in City A.
"And they won’t decrease if you don’t send soldiers out from the base to kill them. Sooner or later, they’ll be here and could jeopardize the safety of our base," Theodore continued calmly.
Some of the higher-ups looked surprised when they heard Theodore’s explanation. Until now, they had no idea that the number of zombies out there was increasing.
Theodore, who saw the surprised looks on their faces, felt lazy because they did not intend to do anything to increase the security level of this base. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Even though the number of zombies outside the base entrance gate had already spiked, Theodore began to believe that these officials were not doing anything to benefit the base.
