Michael did not react to Onyx’s notification of someone coming to visit him. Instead, he just continued holding Kate in his embrace, until she was finally calm.

Initially, Kate was feeling quite overwhelmed. After all, she had just dealt with someone who had caused her so much trouble.

It was because this person had killed her father, that she had not experienced at the same childhood as other children. Ever since she was young, she had to endure harsh training, while other kids enjoyed life.

With her background and the support of the Morgan family, she would have definitely had gotten a better childhood, if not for the death of her father.

Therefore, the hatred that she held towards this guy, it was tremendous. When she got the chance to take revenge, she could not hold back at all.

The moment that Michael arrived in the living room, he had also noticed this lady. But, despite this being the first time that he was meeting her, he immediately knew who she was.

"What? You think that you can hide here with your boyfriend? You left me all alone back at the company, coming to surprise your boyfriend. I thought that you would come looking for me after some minutes, but it has been quite a long while, yet you never showed up. I thought that I would come looking for you." Lina mischievously answered.

Kate was left momentary speechless, as a blush crept to her face. Indeed, she had asked Lina to stay behind for a bit, before she came to surprise Michael.

At that time, she was thinking, she would once again bring up the issue regarding her relationship with Michael. She therefore did not want Lina to be there, otherwise, she would feel kind of awkward.

Unexpectedly, after the two of them had confirmed their relationship, they ended up chatting for several hours. Then, the issue about Bob was brought up, and they went to the basement, where she dealt with him.

All this while, she had really forgotten about Lina, and the fact that she had told her that she would go looking for her.

It was just that she found it unexpected that Lina would be here, looking for her. But then, she thought, maybe she had asked Adrian to bring her here?

Just as she was still thinking about this, Michael pulled her, and the two of them sat on a couch in the living room.

Lina nodded, before she went ahead and sat on another couch, sitting directly in front of Kate, separated by the coffee table.

At this moment, as she looked at the stunned gaze on Kate’s face, Lina chuckled slightly, finding this amusing. It was quite rare to be able to find such an expression on Kate’s face.

"How cute," she could not help but remark.

It was only after Lina had said those words that finally, Kate came back to her senses. She looked at Lina, before looking back at Michael, totally confused.

Seeing her confusion, Michael explained, "Her relationship with me, it is just like that of a superior and a subordinate. She works for me, but the type of address that she uses, it is almost the same as during the ancient times.

Anyway, she is someone that I had arranged to protect you. I wasn’t very sure about NEXUS, which was why I had to make some arrangements for someone to be with you, in case your life was in danger."

With Michael’s revelation, so many things finally began making sense to Kate. It was just that, she wondered, just when did Michael start making the arrangement?

Clearly, from what she understood, Richard Theodore, the very same person who had extended an invitation for her to join NEXUS, was moving around, randomly looking for possible candidates to join the organization.
