Zu An was speechless. He'd heard that the Asuras had been at war with the Celestials for a long time now, but he hadn’t expected their grudge to be this deep-seated. He replied, “I'm not a celestial, but a human. She is my friend.”

The asura woman was surprised. “I would have never expected there to be such a powerful expert among the weak humans! And to think that a celestial would befriend a human.”

Xihe was starting to lose her patience. She tightened her grip on the asura woman’s shoulder as she snorted, “I don’t think you understand the situation you’re in. We’re the ones asking the questions.”

Xihe was taken aback. “How do you know I’m a woman?” She was confident in her disguise.

“No man would treat me like this,” the asura woman replied with a sigh.

Xihe was stunned. This asura woman has guts. I’m already holding her hostage, but she is still in the mood to kid around with me.

Zu An coldly remarked, “There’s no point beating around the bush. Do you believe me when I say that I can read your memories?”
