King of Assassins
Chapter 1059 - 696: Demons Rampant (Part 3)
"That's none of your business."
Qing Xiaoyi said, her steps lightly moving as she gracefully walked over to Gao Xuan. She softly said, "Don't be afraid, I'm Qing Xiaoyi. Everyone here listens to me. With my protection, I won't let you suffer..."
The more she looked at Gao Xuan, the more she liked him, and couldn't help but reach out to touch Gao Xuan's face.
Ripples simply couldn't stand the flirtatious manner of the woman. Her eyes turned cold, and she activated the Hongyi Sword.
The flowing Ming Che Sword Light gently swirled, deeply reflecting into Qing Xiaoyi's green pupils.
Qing Xiaoyi realized something was wrong. She shook her head and transformed into a green smoke, dissipating.
The green smoke landed beside Boss Huang, reshaping into human form. Qing Xiaoyi, full of fear, said to Boss Huang, "This sword is powerful, save me quickly..."
Boss Huang reached out to support Qing Xiaoyi, about to speak, but Qing Xiaoyi's forehead showed a trace of blood seeping out, and the Spiritual Light in her eyes rapidly faded.
In the blink of an eye, Qing Xiaoyi had turned into a massive green snake several yards long.
Under the room's lights, the green snake moved its tail several times and quickly fell silent. Only the scales on the snake's body still glimmered with a green hue.
The sudden change startled many of the surrounding men in green attire, causing them to quickly retreat in panic.
Only Vulture and a few others gathered around, looking at the snake's corpse, their eyes filled with shock.
Boss Huang was also stunned. He froze for a moment before suddenly raising his head and shouting at Ripples, "How dare you, how dare you harm her!"
In a fit of rage, Boss Huang could no longer maintain his human form. His body rapidly expanded, sprouting dense yellow fur on his head, resembling a massive lion standing upright.
Boss Huang's roar was even more intense, the booming sound bursting like gusts of wind and thunder, sweeping fiercely across.
The group of men in green standing around couldn't react before being shattered by the roar.
Dozens of men in green instantly died, their bodies bursting and splattering blood all over the floor and walls.
The array within the compound was activated by the roar, emitting beams of green light.
Facing the roar directly, Ripples pointed her sword at Boss Huang, her gaze calm. Yet, the Hongyi Sword in her hand gently vibrated and fluctuated in the roar, its blade shimmering like rippling water.
The sudden roar couldn't harm Ripples but did exert some pressure on her, forcing her to guide it with the Hongyi Sword.
Gao Xuan encouraged Ripples, "Stay calm. This lion head has crossed three tribulations; the Lion's Roar is an innate divine technique. He won't be able to use it many times. Don't be afraid."
Ripples nodded firmly. She was fearless from the start. Her only concern was the opponent escaping.
Boss Huang roared once but couldn't handle Ripples, so he calmed down. The opponent's composed demeanor was not to be messed with. No wonder Qing Xiaoyi, who had cultivated for thousands of years, was killed with one sword strike.
Looking again at Gao Xuan, this handsome man seemed unfazed, showing no fear of his Lion's Roar. Clearly, Gao Xuan was even more formidable than Ripples.
Boss Huang felt a bit apprehensive, uncertain of where this pair of man and woman originated, both being Spirit Immortals. The key was that earlier he hadn't noticed any immortal aura from them.
Unable to see through the facade, Boss Huang didn't want to make a move yet. He said to Gao Xuan, "Who are you people, killing at my Qingyi Tower? Do you know what this place is? Do you know who we are?"
Ripples disdainfully ignored Boss Huang. At this moment, it all boiled down to who had the faster sword, no point in saying much.
But Gao Xuan was interested and replied, "What is this place? And what kind of demons are you?"
Boss Huang glared viciously at Gao Xuan, saying, "We belong to the Celestial Dragon Temple, Master Xuanxiang is our master. You've got a death wish daring to provoke us." ππ«ππ²ππππ§π πππ₯.πππ
"Monk Xuanxiang has you bunch of demon disciples?"
Gao Xuan laughed, "Very well, it's just right to send you to hell to reunite with Xuanxiang."
Boss Huang was both shocked and angry, wondering what Gao Xuan meant. Did it mean Xuanxiang was dead?
Impossible, Xuanxiang was the strongest of the Buddhist Sect in the Northern Province, even suppressing the Daoist Sect. In the Northern Province, who dared provoke Xuanxiang?
However, for Gao Xuan to say that, he clearly didn't regard Xuanxiang at all. Matters couldn't end peacefully now.
Boss Huang said to the minions beside him, "What are you waiting for, go kill him..."
Vulture and other demons had already been reverted to their original forms by the Lion's Roar. Vulture's wings were exposed, his mouth transformed into a hooked bird's beak, covered in pale yellow feathers.
The other demons also looked bizarre, some resembling weasels, rats, foxes, wolves, with two enormous toads.
Though the demons were hideous, each had a large physique, the smallest over ten feet tall. Gathered together, they made the spacious courtyard seem cramped.
With Boss Huang's command, the group of demons rushed towards Ripples.
Ripples, without a shred of fear, greeted the giant weasel with a sword. Ming Che Sword Light flashed, and the weasel was sliced into two, dying on the spot.
But as the weasel died, it released a foul fart, yellow smoke spreading everywhere, filling the air with an unbearable stench.
Ripples was protected by Sword Qi, immune to all laws. Such toxic gas had no effect on her.
The other demons weren't as fortunate, each suffering from dizziness induced by the stench, their eyes stinging and unable to open.
The group of demons descended into chaos, inadvertently giving Ripples an opportunity.
Most of these demons hadn't crossed tribulation, whereas Vulture had survived two Thunder Tribulations, qualifying him as an expert. His speed was swift, and his reflexes sharp, especially his keen eyes unaffected by the smoke.
Ripples struck him thrice with her sword, but Vulture evaded each time.
