King of the Wilderness
Chapter 366 - 220: The Thirty-third Day!
"Let’s go, we’re setting off," Lin Yu’an said, not holding December but opening the door and stepping outside first.
Then he turned back, using encouraging eyes and a gentle voice to call it, "Come on, December, come out and see."
December hesitated for a moment at the door, its small nostrils flaring quickly as it sniffed the cold and fresh air outside.
It could see the snowy path leading to a white world, but the thick, unfamiliar snow beyond the path seemed to remind it of bad memories, causing it to instinctively feel a hint of hesitation.
But ultimately, trust in Lin Yu’an and its innate curiosity overcame the safety of staying in a familiar environment.
It tentatively stepped out its little short legs, for the first time stepping onto the land outside the shelter.
At first, it walked cautiously on the solid path cleared by Lin Yu’an, step by step, like a child just learning to walk.
When it reached the end of the path, one of its front paws accidentally stepped into the soft deep snow beside, startling it as its entire leg sank in, causing it to quickly pull back.
Lin Yu’an watched its funny expression, wanting to explore yet a bit scared, and smiled as he encouraged, "It’s okay, go forward boldly, that is your world. How can a polar bear be afraid of snow?"
Saying this, he took the lead and walked into the deep snow, paving the way for December.
With Lin Yu’an opening the way ahead, December gained courage. It followed Lin Yu’an’s footprints and plunged into the soft snow.
The thick snow almost submerged half of its body, each step forward requiring it to "swim" with effort, which felt both novel and fun to it.
Like a little boat sailing in a white sea, its little bottom arched up and down on the snow surface.
And so, one man and one bear, crossed through that patch of soft snow, finally reaching the silently working snow hut smokehouse not far away.
Here was the vast lake surface, where the snow near the shore was pressed extraordinarily firm by the wind, forming a natural flat and wide sports ground capable of supporting December’s weight.
When December’s little paws, for the first time, truly set foot on the solid icy snow of the lake surface, its four little feet seemed to stick to the ground.
A feeling of icy hardness, completely different from the soft ground in the shelter and the deep snow just now, clearly transmitted from its paw pads.
Curious, it lifted a front paw, hung in mid-air, seemingly pondering what strange thing this was.
Then, it cautiously put it down again, gently scraping with its claws, producing a faint "rustling" sound.
This sound seemed to delight it; it switched to another paw, as if playing an invisible piano.
It lowered its head, sniffing the pure snow forcefully; the icy breath made it involuntarily let out a loud little sneeze, causing its whole furry little head to shake.
This sneeze seemed to be a key, awakening its suppressed nature, which at this moment burst forth like a dam breaking!
"Awoo——!"
December let out a milk-flavored, yet slightly wild, joyous roar, like a little white tank suddenly ignited and started, galloping on this open ice-snow platform! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The solid snow surface made its run no longer as bumbling as in deep snow, its four little short legs alternating with unprecedented speed.
For the first time, it felt the joy of speed that the wind brought as it swept past its ears!
Excitedly rolling on the ice, it surrendered its entire body to this icy and white world.
With its feet in the air, exposing its soft white belly, it rubbed around on the snow without a care, as if it wanted to blend this cool breath into every inch of its fur.
Tired from playing, it plunged into the nearby soft snow heap, the soft snow instantly burying more than half of its body.
