Lord Of Beasts
Chapter 109: C Rank Boss Beast Part 1
Just as Ethan had given up on finding the Boss Beast, he suddenly felt an incredibly powerful presence. His hair stood on end as a chill ran down his spine, but not from the cold this time.
Then it stepped into view, a massive beast that was equally terrifying as it was majestic.
{Boss Beast Status}
{Race: Glacial Crown Moose
Growth Stage: Prime
Beast Rank: C
Strength: 42
Speed: 40
Stamina: 38
MP: 32/32}
"Damn."
It was enormous, easily dwarfing anything he had seen so far.
Its body was covered in thick, white fur that shimmered faintly, while its antlers - massive, branching, and glowing with an icy blue hue - looked like jagged crowns of frozen crystal.
Each step it took cracked the ground beneath it.
Its breath came out in heavy, freezing bursts, and its presence was oppressive and dominant.
But Ethan didn’t feel fear, standing there calmly, locking eyes with the C Rank Boss Beast.
’It’s definitely strong, especially for the boss of a D Tier Floor.’
His blue eyes gleamed.
’But everything can be killed one way or another.’
There was a tense standstill as the graceful creature studied Ethan, while he reviewed its status. Its stats were definitely impressive, even slightly greater than Wolfy’s.
But while it was alone...
’I’ve got three beasts.’
Without hesitation, Ethan summoned them all.
"Spark."
"Talon."
"Wolfy."
The air shifted instantly, flames flickered, the wind stirred, and a low growl rumbled as the three beasts appeared.
And that’s when the battle began...
-
Ethan was in no condition to be fighting, and a single attack from that Moose beast would probably end him. He also didn’t have full reserves of mana, so he couldn’t maintain all three of his summons for long.
"Fuck it up for me!" he called out to his beasts, who were all eager to oblige.
The odd trio of creatures were locked in as the Boss Beast moved first.
It jumped up onto its hind legs like a horse rearing up, then it came back down with a thunderous stomp, cracking the frozen earth beneath it.
’What a showoff,’ despite thinking that, Ethan couldn’t help but be impressed as he instinctively backed away.
Then the Boss Beast surged forward.
Its massive antlers lit up with an icy glow, veins of frost spreading like fractures through glass.
Glacial Charge.
The ground exploded beneath its hooves as it launched itself forward with terrifying speed, its sheer mass turning into a weapon of unstoppable momentum.
Talon reacted instantly: the hawk shot upward, wings slicing through the frigid air as it gained altitude in a single fluid motion. Spark flared violently, its tiny body bursting with heat as embers scattered into the wind.
But Wolfy didn’t move away.
It leaned back, charging up an attack before bursting forward to meet it head-on.
Cross Slash.
BOOM!
The collision shook the forest.
Snow fell from branches, and ice shattered underfoot.
But it was clear who had gotten the upper hand.
The force launched Wolfy backwards, his claws digging deep trenches into the frozen ground. Its muscles strained, but its teeth still bared in a feral snarl.
Wolfy could have evaded it as the other beasts had, but it endured the attack to protect its summoner, who was standing behind it.
’Appreciate you, buddy,’ Ethan backed away further so as not to become a hindrance to his beasts.
His eyes were glued to their exchange as he watched while feeling slightly guilty that he couldn’t do anything to help his beasts.
The moose didn’t stop after its first attack.
It reared its head back, letting out a deep, echoing roar that vibrated through the trees. Then its antlers pulsed again, but this time, the air itself changed.
Permafrost Surge.
Instead of a simple wave, jagged pillars of ice erupted violently from the ground in all directions, spreading outward like a deadly blooming flower.
The terrain shifted instantly.
Frozen spikes shot up unpredictably, forcing movement, limiting space, and controlling the battlefield itself.
Talon twisted mid-air, narrowly avoiding a spike that erupted beneath it. Spark burned brighter, its flames intensifying as it resisted the encroaching cold. Wolfy growled low, weaving between the rising ice formations, its movements turning sharper, more deliberate.
The Boss Beast’s two skills were clear, and both were incredible.
’That second skill probably uses a shit ton of MP, but even without MP, its physical stats and size alone are dangerous.’
Ethan’s observations were on point.
Yet he remained calm and confident, knowing just how fearsome his beasts were, especially when they worked together. Quickly adapting, his trio of summons was in sync after many joint battles across the E Tier Floors.
Talon moved first, a blur in the sky.
Swoosh!
It dove with lethal precision, activating Gale Rend as it sliced across the moose’s flank, wind-enhanced blades carving through thick hide and leaving a deep, bleeding gash.
The moose roared in pain, trying to strike with its antlers.
But before it could react, Spark followed with a burst of blazing light.
Ember Pulse.
Flames exploded outward, latching onto the beast’s body, igniting its fur and searing into the wounds Talon had opened.
Steam hissed violently as fire met frost.
And then Wolfy struck with a savage blur of claws and teeth.
It lunged low, tearing into the moose’s front legs, ripping through muscle with brutal efficiency before darting away just as the beast retaliated.
Boom!
The moose slammed its antlers downward, shattering the ground where Wolfy had been a moment earlier.
Then it spun and charged again, even faster, clearly angrier.
Glacial Charge.
Its movements were no longer controlled; they were furious, wild, and desperate
Ethan’s eyes tracked everything: every movement and reaction.
"That’s it," he murmured, a grin tugging at his lips.
"Keep attacking it!"
His beasts did exactly that, the pressure intensifying.
Talon harassed it from above, constantly attacking then bursting away, never giving the moose a chance to counter. Spark constantly sprayed flames at the beast at each opening, scorching its flesh.
That was all while Wolfy stayed close and acted as the team’s tank. It darted in and out like a predator toying with its prey, forcing the moose to split its focus constantly.
But the Boss Beast wasn’t going down without a fight...
