Love You Till the End
Chapter 1176 - 1174: Shi Mei vs. Shi Keke (21)
Shi Mei rarely saw this little woman side of Shi Keke, not knowing what she was thinking, smiling so contentedly.
In the past, in front of him, she never admitted defeat, never conceded, her stubbornness made people feel sorry for her.
Now in front of him, her smile was gentle, so tender that it seemed unlike her, yet still evoked a sense of pity.
He glanced at her sideways, then silently turned his gaze away.
He looked straight ahead, gracefully steering the wheel to avoid one car after another.
Shi Keke finally emerged from her memories, but at that moment heard his cold voice: "That shop is no longer open." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Shi Mei’s words cut off her thoughts; although she had considered that with the passage of time, the old shop might have already disappeared, she still felt a bit disappointed hearing it from him.
But she didn’t show it, retracting her little womanly side from earlier, she smiled nonchalantly, "Then forget it, I’m not that keen on eating it anyway."
As she spoke, she glanced at her watch, and said: "It’s getting late, I still have materials to review when I get back, let’s go, take me back."
"Okay."
They didn’t speak again for the rest of the journey.
Because she had stayed up until four in the morning last night and had been busy all day today, Shi Keke wasn’t feeling well, accustomed as she was to staying up late, she still felt a bit tired.
Her eyelids felt heavy, she was unbearably sleepy, so she reclined her seat, with more than twenty minutes’ drive left to home,
she planned to take a short nap.
Half-asleep, she vaguely heard Shi Mei talking on the phone, seemingly saying "delay closing for an hour."
Exhausted and sleepy, she didn’t think much of it, changed her position, and fell asleep quickly.
Seeing she had fallen asleep, Shi Mei turned up the air conditioner temperature, then retrieved a coat from the back seat and covered her with it before continuing to drive.
Fifteen minutes later, the car stopped outside an old deli near the eastern dock of the city.
The shop’s sign was very old, and the interior facilities also seemed aged, indicating it was an old establishment.
At this time normally, the deli would have already closed, but today it remained quite busy, packed with customers.
After the car came to a stop, Shi Mei saw that Shi Keke was still sleeping soundly, so he didn’t wake her.
He also reclined his seat, lazily lying down, turning his face to look at the little woman sleeping deeply beside him.
Under the dim car light, her face seemed to be coated with a layer of sheen, making her features appear even more delicate.
Beautiful eyes gently closed, long eyelashes slightly trembling, she slept soundly, yet seemed somewhat restless, her brows tightly furrowed.
Shi Mei extended his hand, gently placed it over her face, then moved upwards along her face, pausing at her forehead.
He used his fingertip to gently smooth her furrowed brows, easing out the creases.
Perhaps because of his touch, she became alert, and Shi Keke awoke with a start, opening her eyes to see a face magnified tenfold in front of her, his hand resting on her forehead, maintaining a suggestively close distance.
"Brother, why are you touching me?" she asked him.
Shi Mei gazed deeply at her, not answering her question, after about ten seconds, he slowly withdrew his hand, then said: "Just checking your temperature, seeing if you had a fever."
"An excuse." Shi Keke immediately called him out, "You must have thought I looked too enchanting while I was asleep, and couldn’t resist touching me."
