Chapter 241: Chapter 241: This Time Comes an Unfamiliar Territory

"It seems that Impermanence’s timeline before the time travel was further back, or maybe it’s a different historical branch of the world..." Feng Xue observed Impermanence’s clueless appearance and slowly made a judgment, then spoke up:

"This place isn’t safe for a long stay. Where should we go?"

"I don’t know, but with all the Chinese on the signboards..." Old Li shook his head and sighed with frustration. Qing Ming didn’t catch on at once and immediately asked:

"Aren’t we here because of the Kaidan that people from Yan Country know martial arts? Doesn’t a lot of Chinese suggest that we’re in Yan Country?"

"Because we’re not here to seek the origin of the Kaidan, but rather to piggyback on a branch of it, by becoming the ’Yan Country people who know martial arts’ Kaidan ourselves. Do you think it’s easier to create that impression among a group of Yan Country people or in the eyes of some foreigners?"

Old Li seemed to explain with experience, then continued:

"I don’t know if you have other intentions, but I’m only here to piggyback on the Kaidan. If you have other plans, leave on your own later so others won’t be implicated."

"How could I!" Qing Ming scratched his head awkwardly, apparently with some other thoughts in mind.

No one paid attention to him, as everyone was focused on the situation on the street.

By now, the sky was completely dark, and hardly any pedestrians could be seen on the street, only the traditional Chinese signboards asserting their presence.

"Wait a moment!" Qing Ming, seemingly embarrassed by his prior actions, suddenly vanished from sight. Feng Xue could swear he hadn’t seen him move; without a doubt, this must be some sort of teleportation skill.

But his thoughts didn’t linger for long. Just a few seconds later, Qing Ming dragged out two nondescript fellows from a corner, excitedly saying:

"This guy’s a Caucasian! This shouldn’t be..."

"Keep it down!" Old Li cut him off, his eyes suddenly emitting a sharp light. He swiftly scanned the observer, then removed a handgun, two magazines, and a somewhat outdated slider phone from the man’s pocket, before saying:

"He doesn’t have any recording or transmitting devices on him, but since he was watching this area, if he goes too long without contact, our position can still be exposed. Take him with us, and let’s leave here first."

Faced with this situation, everyone clearly had their own set of solutions. After confirming there were no surveillance cameras around, they moved quickly.

Under the blessing of Old Li’s "Hermit" power, everyone’s temperament became extremely ordinary. However, it was deep into the night, and with the streets empty, it seemed somewhat difficult to hide.

Seeing the unnaturally bright car headlights in the distance, everyone began to consider whether it was time to play their trump cards.

At that moment, Lu Gen made a decision. He clapped his hands hard and shouted at the wall by the roadside:

"Open Sesame!"

A door suddenly appeared on a wall full of graffiti. Lu Gen immediately entered, and the others quickly followed suit.

"Close Sesame!"

Following Lu Gen’s command, the door closed again, and everyone had the chance to take in this abruptly formed room.

The room wasn’t large, only about fifteen square meters, and it was furnished with ordinary furniture, appearing no different than a regular bedroom.

"This is my Kaidan power, which can open a ’Secret Room,’ but apart from myself, no one can stay inside for more than eight hours."

"A fairy tale Kaidan, or is it simply borrowing the command ’Open Sesame’ and associating the action with ’opening a door’?" Hearing Lu Gen’s words, Feng Xue made a guess about Lu Gen’s Kaidan, while Impermanence frowned and asked:

"Can you see the outside from this room? We’re not far from that door; it would be troublesome if we get staked out."

"We can." Lu Gen nodded, opened a window next to the door, and they all looked through it to see the street under the night sky. Surprisingly, there was no sign of anyone passing by, as if the earlier car headlights were just an illusion.

"Non-official personnel?" Old Li glanced at the tied up Caucasian captive and again at the quiet street, suddenly realizing a problem—

"Is there a possibility... that this guy wasn’t watching the door, but... that car?"

"Who knows? But catching us coming out of that door isn’t a mistake." Feng Xue spoke while taking out his phone. Seeing it had full bars was surprising:

"Your room still has a connection to the outside world?"

"I’m not very sure, as I’ve never used a phone inside the Secret Room, but an ID badge would work." Lu Gen looked curiously at Feng Xue’s smartphone, wondering if it was illusion or reality.

Feng Xue stayed silent, only quietly opening the IP function on the phone and selecting the local positioning. Immediately, the name of the address appeared.

"Does anyone know what Pradamia is?" Feng Xue raised an eyebrow, his expression extremely weird—he had never even heard of such a name.

"Pradamia? The one in Siam? No wonder it feels like a suburban area..." Qing Ming murmured with a strange expression then stopped trying to change his IP address to Yan Country and bypass the firewall to search on Baidu. Feng Xue paused and looked at Qing Ming with an inquiring gaze.

Not just Feng Xue, at that moment the other three also looked at him with a "you know?" expression. Qing Ming, seeing this, introduced:

"I don’t know if it’s the same here, but in my world, Pradamia is a port city in Siam primarily known for tourism. But it’s notorious not because of its beauty but because it’s chaotic enough. It’s often mentioned alongside Juarez and Saint Luotan as one of the world’s three sin cities... If this really is that place, then we must be on the Triads’ turf."

"On par with Juarez and Saint Luotan?" Feng Xue grimaced. He knew of Juarez in his past life, and had firsthand experience with Saint Luotan. Even without knowing the name previously, just being ranked alongside those two gave him an idea of what sort of place Pradamia was.

Considering its location in Siam...

"Is there a problem?" Impermanence, seemingly not very knowledgeable about geography and history, felt like a fool. To avoid unnecessary trouble, he still asked.

"I’m not entirely sure, but I’ve heard that no good people settle in that place; even the begging panhandler, the dancing tea masters, or the old lady selling fruit on the side of the road might pull a gun on you at any moment!"

Qing Ming had never actually visited there before the time travel, but in his world, this place was often mentioned in movies about gangs and gunfights, and its notoriety was extremely high.

"Isn’t that even better?" Impermanence, hearing Qing Ming put it that way, immediately smiled:

"The more complex the power structure, the better for us to make our move, right?"
