MMORPG: Birth of the World's Luckiest Player
Chapter 339: The Big Money Plan
"Whoa!"
"Stone, this is high-grade cooking material!"
"Did you kill a Mythic Beast?"
Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong both blurted it out the moment they saw the slab of Venomous Horned Serpent meat Marcus had brought back. Their eyes were practically glowing.
"Come on, a Mythic Beast? You think I’m some kind of superhero?" Marcus folded his arms, looking smug enough to be punched.
"Then what is it?"
Seeing that expression on his face, Tactical Drunkard narrowed his eyes and immediately opened the Level Leaderboard for a quick check.
"No way. Stone, are you seriously trying to keep us guessing? Your level jumped three whole levels overnight. Unless you killed a Mythic Beast, nothing levels that fast."
He looked deeply offended by the deception.
"It’s really not a Mythic Beast!" Marcus sounded genuinely wronged.
"Still lying. Talk now, or the boys get violent." Invincible Strong rolled up his sleeves and tried to look intimidating, though nobody in the room took it seriously.
"Fine, fine. If you insist on calling a Divine Beast a Mythic Beast, what am I supposed to do?"
"Divine Beast?!"
Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong shouted at the same time. Their eyes widened so far it looked painful.
"Stone, stop messing around. You killed a Divine Beast?"
Even DragonBlade found that hard to believe. If it had been a newborn Mythic Beast, or a weakened one, then maybe Marcus could have pulled something off through stealth, trickery, or sheer shameless luck. But a Divine Beast? That sounded absurd.
"Stone, tell the truth. Did you just happen to run into a Divine Beast already fighting something else and loot the remains afterward?"
Cleaver asked the question everyone was thinking.
"Smart man."
Marcus grinned and pulled out his recorder. "Let me educate you all on what a masterpiece looks like."
He activated the device. The screen lit up, and the massive form of the Divine Beast Venomous Horned Serpent appeared before them. The room fell silent almost instantly.
Everyone stared and obody spoke.
When the footage ended, Tactical Drunkard lunged forward and grabbed Marcus by the arm, his eyes shining with emotion.
"Stone, that’s unbelievable. I’ve decided, from today onward, I’m never leaving your side."
"Get off me, you freak."
Marcus kicked him away without hesitation. Tactical Drunkard stumbled backward and nearly crashed into Gloomy Arrow. When he saw the man laughing, he straightened up at once and spoke with exaggerated seriousness.
"Laugh while you can, Arrow. Take a good look at what a real Archer is supposed to be. If you don’t reach Liam Windrunner’s level someday, don’t call me your bro."
Gloomy Arrow looked ready to kick him across the room, but Tactical Drunkard had already skipped out of range.
"Stone. This is huge." Invincible Strong was visibly excited now.
"Lately, players across Dominion have been uploading recordings of rare landscapes, secret encounters, mysterious monsters, anything unusual. Those clips explode online."
"You can absolutely make money from this."
Boss Blaze spoke at once, and Path to Heaven nodded beside him. Among everyone present, those two had the sharpest instincts for business.
"Think of it like selling movie tickets," Boss Blaze continued. "Charge players an entry fee to watch each recording. Maybe a dozen gold coins or so. That’s roughly what most people earn in a day, so it won’t feel outrageous."
"Then file a protection request with the system so nobody can pirate the footage," Path to Heaven added smoothly. "If we market it right, tens of millions of players could end up watching. That means real money."
"Exactly what I was thinking."
Marcus nodded. He still remembered how Old Vine had made a fortune by hosting an equipment showcase for the first Guild Creation Token and several pieces of Golden gear. That event had practically printed money.
"I’ve got more footage too. Watch these." He restarted the recorder and began showing the other clips he had captured.
The first scene was Star Lake.
Blue sky reflected over crystal-clear water while Pegasus flew overhead in sweeping circles. In the middle of it all, the Divine Beast Nightmare King battled the Five-Element White Dragon in a clash so violent it made the whole lake look small.
The second scene was Mist Veil Palace.
Wyvern Saint Knight Lyanna thrust out her Wyvern Flame Spear, and after absorbing Marcus’s blood, the weapon transformed into a raging Fire Dragon that destroyed the Spring of Purity in one spectacular blast.
Naturally, Marcus had carefully edited out every shot of Lyanna herself. Lyanna was his goddess, nobody else was allowed to see her.
The third scene took place outside Mist Veil Palace.
A chaotic melee between Divine Beast-class monsters filled the screen: the Three-Headed Black Dragon Knight, the Six-Headed Twin-Winged Serpent, the Double-Headed Raven King, the Cloud-Tusk Lion, and the mysterious woman wielding twin fans who could command storms with a gesture.
The fourth scene featured the Vixen Spirit instantly killing two of Alana’s Beasts.
While tracking her, Marcus had also recorded the stunning scenery of the Vixen Clan territory, Phantom Peach Grove, along with the eerie and beautiful Peach Blossom Miasma drifting through the forest.
The fifth scene was the evolution of the Golden-Petal Snow Eagle King.
Its body tore apart and rebuilt itself in blood and light as it transformed into a Mythic Beast: the Blood-Burst Golden Eagle.
The footage ended. For several seconds, nobody said anything.
Then Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong immediately began replaying their favorite moments, nodding so hard it looked dangerous.
"Stone... these are classics."
"Absolutely premium content."
Boss Blaze and DragonBlade both gave firm nods.
"This stuff sells."
"You’ll make a fortune."
Cleaver, Fate’s Trial, and Gloomy Arrow agreed as well. Even they had to admit these recordings were worth paying for.
Meanwhile, Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong had huddled in a corner, whispering intensely like two criminals planning a robbery.
Then Tactical Drunkard stood up with a sly grin. "Stone, we’ve solved everything for you."
"What now?"
Everyone turned to look at him.
"Titles," Tactical Drunkard declared proudly. "We came up with titles for every scene."
He raised a finger dramatically.
"Scene One: Star Lake, Home of the Super Divine Mount, the Nightmare Dragon Steed."
"Scene Two: Fury of the Fire Dragon."
"Scene Three: The Double-Headed Raven King Who Lost His Feathers."
"Scene Four: The Legendary Eight-Tailed Vixen Spirit."
"Scene Five: Evolution of a Mythic Beast."
"And the grand finale..." He paused for effect.
"Killing a Divine Beast."
Invincible Strong rose immediately after him, his chest puffed out like a seasoned merchant.
"And I’ve handled the pricing." He began counting on his fingers.
"Scene One lets players see the Nightmare Dragon Steed’s original form, plus hints on where Pegasus can be found. Thirty gold coins each."
"Scene Two is a little blurry and not especially practical, but a Divine Artifact turning into a dragon is worth watching. Fifteen gold."
"Scene Three has the famous Double-Headed Raven King. Thirty gold is fair."
"Scene Four..." He grinned shamelessly. "Honestly, thirty gold is cheap considering how many weirdos out there will watch it for the Vixen Spirit alone. But we’ll be generous."
The room immediately burst into laughter.
"Scene Five is mostly visual spectacle, same as Scene Two. Fifteen gold."
"And the final scene, Killing a Divine Beast..." He slapped the table dramatically. "After seeing the first five, nobody will skip the ending. Fifty gold coins. Let them witness how a Divine Beast truly dies."
Tactical Drunkard and Invincible Strong looked around proudly, clearly convinced they had just built a commercial empire.
"What do you all think?"
Marcus stared at them for a moment, then finally spoke.
"...Isn’t that a little expensive?"
He genuinely meant it. After all, getting these recordings had felt far too easy.
