Looking at the little backpack he’s carrying, it’s likely this kid planned for me to take him out all along.

He followed along into the store.

The shop assistant initially saw this adorable little boy and was curious about why he was here alone. Just as she was about to ask where his mom and dad were, Ling Haoyu walked in.

They looked somewhat similar, so the assistant automatically assumed he was the little one’s guardian.

Smiling, she asked, "Sir, are you looking to buy clothes for your son? We have clothing for children aged 0-7. Take a look and see if there’s anything you like!"

Before Ling Haoyu could say anything, Jingxi, who was holding a baby outfit, suddenly spoke up, "Miss, you’ve got it wrong, he’s not my daddy, he’s my uncle..."

Upon hearing this, Ling Haoyu’s eyes widened, nearly making him spill his ice cream cone in excitement.

What did the little guy just say?

He said I’m his uncle? Could it be that he knows? Has he acknowledged me as his uncle?

Realizing he had misspoken, Jingxi quickly corrected himself, "No, it’s Uncle!"

But Ling Haoyu didn’t hear the latter part; his mind continued to echo Jingxi’s earlier statement about him being the uncle...

Jingxi turned around and saw Ling Haoyu’s shocked expression. He silently scoffed at him before turning to look at other clothes.

Seeing a pink outfit, he couldn’t help but stop and say to the nearby shop assistant, "Could you please show me that one?"

The assistant followed his gaze, nodded, and brought the outfit down.

The fabric felt really soft, perfect for a newborn. Jingxi immediately decided, "Please wrap this up for me!"

The shop assistant glanced at the little boy and then at the still-stunned Ling Haoyu with a bit of reluctance, "Shouldn’t you show it to your uncle first?"

"No need, I have money!"

As he spoke, he took out cash from his backpack and handed it to her, "Please wrap it up for me!"

Since Jingxi was still young, most shops wouldn’t let him use a card, so he often carried cash instead.

The assistant was astonished to see him pulling out thousands, mentally noting that he was truly a little prince from a wealthy family.

Despite her internal comments, she took the clothes and packed them anyway.

Jingxi carried the shopping bag, walked over to Ling Haoyu, who still had a dazed look, placed his hand on his forehead, and shook his head, lightly tugged Ling Haoyu’s clothes, and walked straight out, not caring if he snapped out of it.

Ling Haoyu snapped back to reality, glanced around, but Jingxi was nowhere in sight. It wasn’t until the assistant pointed him to a spot not far ahead that Ling Haoyu spotted him and quickly chased after him.

"What did you buy?"

Jingxi replied, "Some clothes for my sister!"

"When did you find out?"

Jingxi turned his head, feigning ignorance, "Find out about what?"

Ling Haoyu didn’t pay much attention to his playing dumb attitude but continued, "Didn’t you just say I was your uncle? When did you find out?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Did I say that?"

"You didn’t? Let me repeat what you said, ’Miss, you’ve got it wrong, he’s not my daddy, he’s my uncle.’ That’s what you said!"

In response, Jingxi smiled and showed a few white teeth, "I also said afterwards, it’s Uncle. Did I not express myself clearly, or did Uncle Ling not hear it right?"
