Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 433: Roasted Chicken
The old man looked at Stefan for a moment and asked, "Why are you in such a hurry?"
He wanted to get things done quickly, but it was too hasty to register this marriage tomorrow.
Stefan pursed his lips and said, "The baby in Riya’s belly can’t wait any longer." Also...he could only wait for one night.
Mr. Marley nodded in agreement. Indeed, the baby was growing fast in her belly. What if the wedding photos didn’t look good?
He replied, "Alright, you guys can go tomorrow. I’ll make a call right now and ask our family members to come back. You guys should hurry up and hold the wedding."
Stefan said, "I’m almost ready. Just sending out the invitation would be fine."
This was unexpected for Mr. Marley. He looked at Stefan and smiled. He patted him heavily on his shoulder, "Young man, you are very thoughtful."
"It seems that you have been thinking about this for a long time." Mr. Marley nodded, "Alright, the wedding will be held..." "Half a month later," Stefan replied.
Although he wanted to say one week, he was afraid that Mr. Marley would think that he was too hasty and would be unhappy.
The old man nodded and asked, "Riya, she..."
"I have already proposed to Riya. She agreed."
Mr. Marley was surprised and pleased, "Then, you have prepared everything and come back only to inform me, right?"
"I am fine if you and Riya are happy. You have my consent and blessings."
Mr. Marley had been looking forward to this marriage for so many years. It was time to see it come true.
In the past, he had always felt that Riya and Stefan were a good match, but his granddaughter didn’t show any interest in this young man. He preferred Stefan, but what was the use of it if Riya didn’t love him.
Now that the two young people fell in love, Riya, his granddaughter, had found her Mr. Right. He was more than happy for her.
"Ah, I only have one granddaughter. You have to take good care of Riya and not ill-treat her."
"I understand, grandpa."
Mr. Marley nodded in satisfaction. He glanced at the gifts and asked, "These are for me, right?"
"There are two boxes of tea leaves and a white jade tea set. They were specially prepared for you." Stefan answered.
Mr. Marley was pleased and thought, "Stefan really understands me."
Around Christmas, everywhere was in a festive mood. There were many people on the streets.
Margaret received the news of Riya’s marriage and ran downstairs.
Seeing this, Julian grabbed the hood on her back, held her back, and pulled her into his arms.
"What are you running around for?"
Margaret stuck out her tongue and calmed herself down.
She was so excited just now that she had forgotten she carried a baby in her belly.
The baby was still very small and her belly was very flat. In fact, Margaret did not feel like she was pregnant at all.
"Oh, I’m looking for Hilla."
Julian let go of her hood and said coldly, "Take it slow."
He thought that she bustled around every day like a child. Those who didn’t know would think that their house was on fire.
Margaret curled her lips and said weakly, "Got it."
As she spoke, her two hands held each other in her chest and walked like a respectful noblewoman. However, she moved her hip too much.
It looked like she was twerking.
Julian looked at her pretending to be a dignified noblewoman. He sighed, "Walk normally."
It made him uncomfortable to see her walk in that way.
Margaret turned around and rolled her eyes at him. She said unhappily, "Why is this not normal? This is the most dignified way of walking in ancient time."
She was serious. Back then, she had worked very hard to learn it and her mother had been very mad at her for that.
"You don’t need to walk like that," Julian frowned and said coldly, "It is not suitable for you."
"Just walk a little slower."
Looking at her twerking hip, he felt embarrassed.
"OK, you are so hard to please."
Margaret snorted unhappily, turned around, and went downstairs quickly.
However, she was still obedient and did not run.
Hearing Margaret’s words, Hilla was shocked at first and then said, "Indeed, it is time for Stefan and Riya to get married. I wonder what gift I should give them!"
Hilla leaned her chin on her hands and thought with a serious expression.
A wedding gift should not be taken carelessly.
Margaret waved her hand and said indifferently, "You are good at making clothes. Get her some nightgowns, sexy ones. It’s best to make Mr. Key’s blood boil."
Her face was red with excitement.
She gestured the nightgown style with her hands, her eyes shining.
The corner of Hilla’s mouth twitched and she said embarrassedly, "Riya is pregnant. It is not appropriate."
After all, if a pregnant woman was dressed like that, it would be hard for her husband.
With this thought, she felt that Margaret’s idea was very improper. It was better to think about it herself.
Seeing that Hilla didn’t accept her opinion, Margaret pursed her lips and said unhappily, "If you don’t want to give them these, I’ll do that."
Riya did it to Margaret. If she didn’t take revenge now, would she have a chance in the future? 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Hilla muttered in a low voice, "Do you want to take revenge on Riya or punish Stefan? I’m afraid that Stefan will suffer in the end."
After all, as newlyweds, Riya and Stefan would like to be very close to each other.
Riya was pregnant, and it was very hard for Stefan to restrain himself. It would be unkind to give them sexy underwear as their wedding gifts.
Margaret gritted her teeth, "Riya, this woman, being pregnant saved her life this time."
Seeing her expression, Hilla couldn’t help but laugh, "Don’t you have a baby in your belly now?"
Only then did Margaret smile happily, her face full of pride as she touched her belly that was still very flat.
She said with pride, "Anyway, I don’t care. This time, I must give birth earlier than her and make that woman speechless."
Hilla nodded, "You try hard to win."
As she spoke, she burst out laughing.
Giving birth was not like a running match, how could one try to win?
However, counting the days, Riya and Margaret’s due dates were close. It was difficult to predict who would give birth earlier.
Margaret did not care about that and said in a good mood, "Hilla, let’s eat fish today."
Eating fish?
Hilla was surprised and then she asked, "You want to eat fish?"
The crucian carp in the pond was not bad, so she would ask Bruce to catch a few.
Margaret nodded vigorously, "Yes, I want to eat fish. Make more."
As she spoke, she rubbed her belly and snorted, "My baby must be smarter than that woman’s and stronger, too."
Hilla was amused, "do you really want to eat fish, or is it because you want to win over Margaret?"
Hilla frowned and didn’t want to discourage Margaret. She nodded and said, "I’ll let the cook prepare it. What kind of fish do you like to eat?"
"One boiled and one steamed!"
Margaret raised her head with a look of arrogance.
Hilla replied with a smile, "Alright, I’ll ask your brother to fish now."
Margaret thought she would eat a lot of fish to make her baby smarter. Otherwise, the pool of fish would be wasted.
...
It was the last month of the year, very cold.
Standing by the pond, Hilla looked at the huge pond and sighed, "This water is so cold!"
Bruce threw the tools to the ground. In fact, the servants could catch a few fish easily, but Bruce wanted to do it by himself.
"Crucian carp!"
Hilla turned to look at Bruce, who was very serious. She smiled, "If you can’t get it, let’s call over the pond keeper."
Bruce might be good at signing documents, but catching fish was different.
He walked up to her and tugged at her collar. Then he said in a low voice, "Don’t worry, you will have fish at dinner. Go home, it’s cold here."
Hilla had wanted to be with him here. She was surprised when Bruce asked her to leave.
She pursed her lips and said, "Then I’ll go back first. Be careful not to fall into the pond."
Hilla’s eyebrows and eyes curved on her smiling face.
Her eyes were like the stars in the night sky but also like the moon.
The man lowered his head and kissed her cold lips. His hand touched her cold cheek, "Go back, I will be careful."
It was only her joke. She didn’t want him to fall into the pond.
The pond was full of withered lotus poles. Although it was messy, it looked natural and beautiful.
Hilla nodded.
She tiptoed to kiss him on the cheek and smiled, "I will be waiting for you to bring the fish back."
With these words, she turned around and ran off before Bruce could respond.
Margaret sat on the sofa in the living room and ate tomatoes. Julian, who was sitting beside her, cracked sunflower seeds and gave her the hearts.
There was a small plate of sunflower hearts on the table, and beside it was a pile of sunflower seed hulls.
"I want some salty sunflower hearts."
Margaret took a bite of the tomato and ordered.
Julian raised the corner of his eyes slightly and glanced at her, "Eating so many
hearts will make you sick."
Margaret stopped to stare at Julian with a frown. Then she said fiercely, "Is it I who want to eat? It is your future heir who wants to eat."
Julian laughed and rolled his eyes in indignation, "Got it."
Margaret was pleased and smiled in satisfaction. She stretched out her long legs and placed them on the sofa. Then she said in boredom, "Treat me better. If I’m unhappy, a bad mood will affect the baby in my belly."
Julian was in desire. It was still half a year before her due date. When was she going to give birth?
Margaret turned her head and saw Hilla coming back with a red face. She turned around and waved happily, "Hilla, can I eat fish today?"
Hilla steadied her heartbeat and nodded with a smile, "Likely. Your brother is catching fish right now. There should be fish for dinner tonight."
"Great!"
After saying that, Margaret took a bite of the tomato, felt that it was not delicious, and threw it in front of Julian.
"Eat it and don’t waste."
After that, she picked up the strawberries on the plate and put them into her mouth.
It was so sweet and delicious.
Julian glanced at the half tomato. He frowned and threw it into the trash can.
Margaret turned to glare at him, "You don’t love me?"
Julian pursed his lips, "Sure, I do, but there are sunflower hulls on the tomato."
Margaret took a deep look at the man and didn’t continue to argue.
In the evening, the sky gradually darkened.
Standing at the door, Hilla frowned slightly as she looked at the empty courtyard.
Orlenna stood behind her.
Orlenna asked Margaret, "Why should you eat fish? Will you die if there is no fish?"
Margaret retorted in a low voice, "Eating fish can make baby smart. I’m afraid the baby will be stupid if I don’t eat it."
Orlenna looked at her and said with an unhappy smile, "It is pity that I ate too little fish when I was pregnant with you."
Margaret frowned and understood Orlenna was making fun of her. She stared at Orlenna unhappily, "Mom, do you think I’m stupid?"
Orlenna was speechless. Margaret was her own daughter and she loved her very much. It was only a joke.
She waved her hand and said, "Alright, hurry up and call your brother. It’s already so late. Why isn’t he back yet?"
Margaret curled her lips.
She was a little hurt and thought, "After all, you love your son more than your daughter."
"Hilla has already called my brother. He didn’t answer it."
He didn’t answer it. It was no big deal. Bruce was already a grown-up; how could he get drowned in a pond?
Thinking of this, Orlenna heard Hilla’s joyful voice crying, "He’s back!"
Before Margaret looked up, Hilla had already run out.
In the afterglow of the setting sun, the air became thin and cold.
Bruce held a large fishing net in his hand. His coat was clean and tidy.
Hilla quickly ran over only to see Bruce’s trousers being covered in mud.
She paused for a moment and wondered, "Did he fall into the pond?"
Bruce frowned. He could tell that Hilla was going to jump into his arms.
However, he looked really... like having rolled around in a pond.
Bruce moved his lips and said, "I accidentally fell."
The butler hurried forward and took the fish from Bruce.
Looking at the mud on his trousers, Hilla frowned and said, "Let’s hurry back to the room and take a shower!"
On such a cold day, he would get sick wearing wet trousers.
Orlenna also urged Bruce to return to his room. Hilla put down the things in her hands and followed upstairs.
Orlenna turned around and glanced at Margaret in the living room. She quickly walked over.
When Margaret saw Orlenna’s face, she knew she was in trouble. She quickly hid behind Julian and whispered, "Mom, calm down, calm down. It’s easy for women to grow old when they are angry."
Orlenna was irritated and thought, "Damn girl, you dare to curse me." "You...just wait and see," she warned. Then she turned to the kitchen.
Margaret secretly poked her head and muttered in a low voice, "What does my mother mean?"
She had thought that Orlenna would scold her because of Bruce’s falling into the pond, but she went go to the kitchen.
Was Orlenna going to teach her a lesson or to poison her?
Julian glanced at her and said, "She lets you wait for a while and then eat fish." Julian was calm like there was nothing wrong.
He walked to the tea table and continued to crack the sunflower seeds.
Margaret frowned and leaned against him, resting her head on Julian’s shoulder.
She ate the hearts and said, "Actually, I don’t really want to eat fish."
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Julian gave her a nasty look.
His eyes were full of warning and worry.
If Orlenna and Bruce found out that she didn’t want to eat fish and only made trouble for them, she would be in trouble.
Margaret waved her hand and smiled guiltily. "It’s not that I don’t want to eat. I can still eat some."
"Then what do you want to eat?" Julian turned around and asked.
Margaret thought about it seriously and then said, "The roast chicken you made last time is not bad."
She ate more than half of it by herself and the two chicken drumsticks.
The man suddenly stood up. Margaret tilted her body and fell on the sofa, "What are you doing!"
Julian did not turn and only said, "Make roasted chicken."
