Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 437: Don’t You Know It Yourself?
An old servant said, "Mrs. Jorgansen, congratulations. You are going to have a new grandchild."
It was in the early morning. Brittany got up under the care of the old servant. As she got old, she slept less.
She heard the servant’s words but showed no expression on her aged face.
The servant chose a more festive outfit for her. Brittany didn’t object and said in a low voice, "Are Julian and his wife back?"
The old servant nodded her head, "I heard that he came back last night. This morning, he would come to pay his respects to you and tell you this good news."
The old servant had gotten used to Brittany’s expressionless face and still put on a smiling face.
Brittany nodded slightly and coughed heavily.
The servant quickly brought over the throat moistening tea she drank every morning.
Brittany slowly drank her tea. After a while, she said: "Go to the warehouse and pick some of the best health supplements. When Julian comes, give them to him and his wife."
It was not important whether the health supplements are useful or not. They should be expensive and rare to show that the Jorgansen family takes Margaret and her baby very seriously.
The old servant replied, "Don’t worry about that. I’ve already arranged it for you."
Having been Brittany’s servant for most of her life, she knew Brittany’s habits well.
Brittany stood up and said, "Go and take out my white jade bracelets."
The old servant was stunned, "That’s the dowry from your family."
She had thought that the bracelets would be Brittany’s grave goods.
Brittany took out these, mostly to show to the whole Jorgansen family that the family head would be changed.
Usually, a son would bring honor to the mother. However, Julian enjoyed the honor brought to him by his wife and baby.
The appearance of this pair of bracelets would make many people in the Jorgansen family jealous or uneasy.
Brittany said calmly, "These are just dead things. It is useless to keep them. I can’t wear them after I die."
"Mrs. Jorgansen, what are you saying?"
The old servant’s face tightened. She looked a little worried.
All the people would get old and die. No one could escape.
Brittany sneered and said indifferently, "Alright, let’s go and eat breakfast. When Julian comes over, the house will be lively again."
The Jorgansen family was large and had many children, not to mention that her husband was a romantic man when he was alive.
He had quite many mistresses and illegitimate children.
At the thought of this, ruthlessness flashed through Brittany’s old eyes.
This kind of man, if he didn’t die, what was the point of keeping him alive?
The sky was bright. Some family members had come to eat breakfast with Brittany.
At most times, they stayed in their respective houses and seldom came. However, all of them arrived at the Brittany’s house this morning as if they had made an appointment among them.
Early in the morning, all the children and grandchildren in the room were waiting for her.
A cold expression came across Brittany’s face. Her heavy body walked extremely slowly and clumsily.
Sophie stepped forward first and took Brittany’s arm to help. She smiled and said, "Mrs. Jorgansen, I am going to tell you a piece of good news."
Brittany smiled and said in a low voice, "What, something marvelous happened to you?"
Sophie’s face flushed with embarrassment.
All the women in the entire Jorgansen family but her could be pregnant. That would never happen to her.
Ever since that incident, she and Marcos had never lived like ordinary wife and husband. She had completely given up the hope.
To be precise, Marcos couldn’t do it at all. They didn’t do it at all.
The corners of Sophie’s mouth twitched into a smile, "Mrs. Jorgansen, you’re making a joke with me. I don’t have such good luck?"
Brittany pretended not to understand and said, "Just now you said you had a piece of good news. Then you are making a joke with me, aren’t you?"
Sophie was stunned as if she needed time to understand what Brittany had said.
Brittany knew that Marcos was impotent and she could never get pregnant. Why did she mention it? Sophie thought, " Maybe I am being too sensitive and suspicious."
Sophie smiled and said, "It’s I who didn’t make it clear. It’s Julian and his wife who are going to report the good news to you. Don’t you know that Julian’s wife is
pregnant? They are going to bring you a healthy grandson in the coming year."
Brittany knew everything that was happening in the entire Jorgansen family. Nothing could be hidden from her.
She knew everything.
Sophie said this only to find an excuse for herself.
Also, she wanted to please Brittany.
Brittany’s mouth twitched slightly, but she didn’t smile.
Her usually cold face was full of solemn and dignity, like the cornerstone of the Jorgansen family.
"Yes, it’s good news. Don’t tell me all of you are here early in the morning to tell me this good news?"
Brittany didn’t look up, but she already knew, among all her children and grandchildren, who were here and who weren’t. Mostly she guessed it right.
They were all a bunch of good-for-nothings. A little baby in Margaret’s belly could make them so anxious.
If this child was born, these people would probably be anxious to death.
"Mrs. Jorgansen, I went back to my mother’s home two days ago. I brought some health supplements for you."
Jenny found a proper excuse for being here.
It was true that she had just returned from her family. According to the Jorgansen family rules, she should come to pay respects to Brittany today.
Hearing this, Brittany relaxed her face a little.
She replied indifferently with "um", not looking at the others. Then she said, "Since all of you are here, come and have breakfast with me if you’re free."
Usually, Brittany’s breakfast was simple, unlike their eating habits. Therefore, they didn’t like to come to eat.
Now that they were invited, some looked troubled.
Those young grandchildren quickly found excuses and left.
Her sons and daughters-in-law wouldn’t mind the food and occasionally come to eat with Brittany.
Sophie naturally stayed behind. Anyway, she had already eaten something before she came. She would just have a little to show respect to Brittany.
When they sat down, Sophie said, "Do we need to wait for a while? I think Julian and his wife would come. They should not have eaten breakfast so early."
Sophie smiled and put on a face of affection for Julian and Margaret.
Jenny nudged Sophie, who didn’t respond.
Sally also glanced at the door and whispered, "She is already pregnant. Why would she come here to eat food like this?"
Although her voice was not loud, it was too quiet on the table.
The dining table was round and so it was very easy for the people around her to hear it clearly.
Everyone raised eyebrows and looked at Brittany.
Margaret from the Anderson family had just gotten pregnant. If she wanted to put on airs, Brittany probably wouldn’t be happy!
Moreover, if the couple came late today, it would be disrespectful to Brittany.
Therefore, they all came here today to watch the show.
Just as they were thinking about these, the old butler came over and said, "Mr. Julian and Ms. Margaret are here."
Very quickly, Julian and Margaret with her big belly walked in...
...
Margaret instantly became the focus of the people at the table after she appeared.
Actually, it was her belly that attracted the attention of everyone.
Except for Brittany, the women’s sight at the table were all on Margaret’s belly, no matter who she was.
However, Margaret was wearing a tight skirt today, which vividly outlined her ’bloated’ belly.
It was inevitable to see.
Alice laughed and said, "Julian is so lucky that Margaret has been pregnant before long getting married while someone still didn’t have good news after getting married for so long and so many efforts.
Alice’s words were full of sarcasm and insinuations.
Sophie’s face turned cold.
It was like a thorn stabbing into her heart every time someone mentioned it.
Although her heart had been stabbed into a bloody mess already, these words would still make her feel even more painful.
"What are you trying to say?"
Sally was the first to lose her temper as she had been married to the Jorgansen family for the longest time and had no children.
The only daughter she adopted was sent abroad.
At the thought of Jessie’s grievance and cry over the phone with her last night, she felt a burst of bitterness.
She didn’t expect that Jessie would be forced to marry a royal noble with a violent tendency as soon as she went abroad.
That kind of man did not treat her daughter as a person at all.
Every time Sally thought about it, she would scold Julian for his ruthlessness.
He could do anything to please his wife’s family and consolidate his position.
Alice’s words had also pierced into Sally’s heart and she could not help but feel resentful.
"Sally, you are too sensitive. You thought I was directing against you whatever I say. Then why don’t you just sew everyone’s mouths shut and make them mute? It also saves your hatred when they say things that annoy you."
Alice said with a smile. The atmosphere was tense from the beginning. Margaret was watching from the side ’obediently’. The light in her eyes never
disappeared.
<I was still too young!
The novels of overbearing CEOs I usually read had muddled my mind.
I should watch more harem fight dramas so that I would integrate into real life better. >
"Stop pretending here. If not me, were you talking about Sophie?" Well, Sally’s words immediately made Sophie the focus of the fight. Everyone turned to stare at Sophie.
Sophie was so resentful that she was about to jump up, but she couldn’t afford to lose face.
She could only look at Brittany with red eyes and a wronged expression.
"Alright, can’t you two stop for a while?"
Brittany glanced at Sally and Alice with a warning.
The two daughters-in-law immediately shut up and lost their temper.
Brittany thought, "Incompetent person was more vicious than the other when fighting with each other."
Alice was alert and immediately smiled apologetically, "Mom, it’s my fault to offend you again. If you are too angry to have dinner, then I will eat your share for you today."
As the youngest daughter-in-law, Alice knew how to act spoiled towards Brittany.
Just because being young, Alice had always been the most flamboyant and domineering one but won Brittany’s favor.
Sally secretly hated her for being a lackey, but she did not know how to please Brittany.
Brittany looked at Alice with dissatisfaction but also with affection. She didn’t mean to blame her.
Instead, she turned her gaze to Julian and Margaret and said with a soft voice. "Sit down and have dinner!"
Since Brittany had ordered, Margaret could not say that she had already had dinner before she came here, so she could only sit down with Julian obediently after the servants’ guidance.
Margaret frowned at the bland vegetables on the table.
Nothing was to her taste.
She had to say, "Grandma, I don’t feel well because of pregnancy these days. Nor do
I feel like eating."
On the way here, Julian had told her.
She didn’t need to hide her pregnancy from them because she couldn’t manage it.
These people were as sensitive as a dog and would bark at one when they smelled the blood.
Sure enough, everyone on the table immediately had different expressions and sent different ’blessings’ to Margaret as soon as she said this.
"Pregnant? How long have you been pregnant? I also felt sick when I just got pregnant. I can understand it."
Sitting beside Margaret, Alice held Margaret’s hand and smiled affectionately. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
It was as if her daughter-in-law was pregnant.
Margaret was a little embarrassed and tried to withdraw her hand back. Luckily, she quickly pulled it out as Alice did not hold tight.
Margaret lowered her head because of embarrassment. She said in a small voice with her fingers crossed, "I am not just pregnant. It’s been almost three months. I am much better now."
Three months?
They didn’t know it until she had been pregnant for three months?
The expressions of the people on the table changed again as expected.
The young couple was so cautious that they hid the news of pregnancy from them.
Why did they do that?
"Margaret is really lucky to be pregnant in such a short time, yet you keep such a big event from us family. Is that because you don’t take grandmother and these aunts seriously or you think that we will harm the child in your belly?"
Sophie said these words out of mixed feelings and her secret ruthlessness.
However, she also successfully set a trap for Margaret.
Now, everyone on the table felt that Margaret hid the ’great news’ from them as she was precautious of them.
Sure enough, the aunts’ face was longer than each other.
Although they didn’t want to see this situation, as the elders of the family, they certainly wouldn’t harm the child of the younger generation.
Margaret was going against all of them.
Wasn’t she going to get along with the family?
Different from the long face of these people, Brittany with superior feeling was
indifferent to these words as if she had not heard them.
Nor did she have any reaction to Margaret’s good news for the time being.
The shyness and tension were replaced by grievance immediately on Margaret’s face.
Her voice was full of uneasiness and fear when looking at the people at the table.
It seemed like everyone at this table was bullying her.
"I was pregnant for the first time and ignorant of it at all. It was my fault for not informing you as soon as I knew it. I really didn’t know when I would get pregnant, so..."
She was effeminate and her voice trembled.
Her snow-white teeth lightly touched against her red lips. It seemed like that she was about to cry if anyone said another word.
Julian added, "Margaret and I have no such experience. It has been more than two months before we found out about it. The customs of Margaret’s family stipulated that one shouldn’t reveal it to anyone else until three months."
He said it without hurry but the people on the table sneered in their hearts. Don’t you know whether there is such a custom yourself?
