My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 407: Suddenly Feeling a Bit More at Ease
"..." The man’s silence followed her question.
Summer Shawcross stared at his composed face for a moment, then couldn’t help but ask.
"Do you really dislike children that much?"
His actions tonight made her suspect that he didn’t want kids!
He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he lowered his eyes, looked at her dissatisfied little face for a moment, then parted his thin lips and spoke to her with a serious expression.
"Summer Shawcross, we’ll prepare for children in a couple of years!"
His words left Summer stunned, her face revealing a look of surprise and confusion.
"Why?"
Why must it be two years later? Why can’t it be now?
Noah Drexler cleared his throat and then slowly began to explain to her.
"Having a child is not a trivial matter, we need more time to prepare."
Listening to his explanation, Summer paused, feeling an inexplicable sense of discomfort.
Even though having a child isn’t a small matter, taking two years to prepare seems overly long.
Moreover, their current environment is very suitable for raising children, she couldn’t understand why they must wait for two years.
Just as she was puzzled, a related concern suddenly popped into her mind.
What she was worried about wasn’t about the best time for them to have a child, but rather... why hadn’t she gotten pregnant!
She remembered clearly that when they were together, they took no precautions and she never used any contraceptives.
If both their bodies were fine, she should have been pregnant by now.
But... she wasn’t.
Thinking of this, Summer couldn’t help but lower her head, glancing at her flat abdomen with a distressed expression.
"Noah Drexler, I should really go to the hospital for a checkup!" She bit her lower lip, speaking with some concern. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
They had been together so many times, yet she hadn’t conceived, even the housekeeper found it surprising.
As soon as she spoke, the man’s previously calm face suddenly showed a trace of tension.
"Are you feeling unwell?" he asked with a frown, concerned about her.
Is she feeling unwell?
Summer shook her head, then pursed her lips and said.
"No... I’m just afraid that I..." At this point, she tightened the hand resting on her abdomen.
Seeing this, Noah’s eyes deepened.
"Summer Shawcross, there’s nothing wrong with your body." He looked at her seriously and spoke slowly.
She didn’t need to go to the hospital!
"Then why haven’t I..." Summer paused, somewhat shocked at how sure he sounded.
Facing her puzzled expression, Noah frowned slightly, then somewhat displeased, he countered.
"Do you think getting pregnant is as simple as eating a meal?"
With that question, Summer was momentarily dumbfounded, unable to find the words to respond to him.
As she stood there dazed, the man’s deep voice slowly explained again.
"We’ve been married for less than half a year, it’s normal not to have conceived yet."
Listening to his deep voice, Summer paused, looking up at his incredibly handsome face.
He was watching her with lowered eyes, those black orbs filled with calm and composure.
Seeing his current demeanor, Summer’s heart skipped a beat, inexplicably feeling... a bit more reassured.
