The fenrirs were looking at their prey

“Ah… They are cautious. No, I think they are carefully assessing their prey?”

“Wuff.”

Leo agreed with me.

While half of the fenrirs were dealing with the aftermath of the magic, the others were slowly surrounding Euto.

At first, I thought they were just being cautious, but then I remembered that this was something that wolves often did when closing in on their prey.

Well, Fen and Riruru were among them, so it was possible that they were just playing.

Regardless, it was somehow comforting, knowing that their wild side still remained in them.

“P-prey!? Well…it is true that I was the one to attack first! But that big wall blocked most of it. And Leo is here…!”

Leo and I were not angry, and even if Claire and Sebastian were troubled, they certainly weren’t looking to punish him. Of course, they were not even in a position to do such a thing.

“In any case. Leo, please tell the fenrirs to scatter. Sebastian, I’m sure that everyone is shocked after what just happened. So tell them and the fenrirs to rest for now.”

“Cerrtainly.”

As the servants and children looked a little shaken, perhaps they would be able to calm down if they were with the fenrirs.

Especially people like Emeralda, Chita, Johanna and Lyra…

“You are very calm, Takumi. After such an incident… And being surrounded in so many fenrirs. Well…perhaps they are the reason that you are calm?”

“…Actually, after something like that, being calm is the only thing I can do.”

“I agree with Mr. Takumi.”

Mr. Euro looked both surprised and exasperated by how calm I was.

While I had been surprised, it was Leo and Mr. Euto.

And so my emotion quickly surpassed mere surprise and I reached a strange kind of calmness within… Ms. Lugretta agreed with me with a nod.

“So, could you explain to me what happened, exactly?”

After all, the ice wall had blocked my vision, and so I didn’t see what had happened.

I had some time to kill until the fenrirs finished with the work, and the people calmed down.

Also, I wanted to know so that I could praise Leo properly for protecting everyone.

“Uh…you mean…my I used the magic?”

“Actually, I want to know what you two are doing here…but we can talk about that later. I am interested in knowing why you unleashed that magic as well.”

There was a lot that I was curious about, including their presence here. But the magic was the most pressing matter.

It seemed like Leo and Euto’s magic had clashed. But that was all that I knew.

There had been an explosive sound and the ground had shook… It had likely reached Ractos, and could be causing quite a stir right now.

We should probably send someone back there in order to explain. But if we were going to do that, we had to learn about what really happened.

Also…we might not be able to tell them everything…

“Well…umm…”

“Wuff. Wuff-wuff…”

Mr. Euto seemed to be able to tell that I was interested in the magic as well. And so he and Leo began to talk about it… Though, he continued to glance in the direction of Ractos.

As for the magic… According to him, he had tried to use the most powerful spell that he was able to use with his Gift.

Why would he suddenly unleash such a spell in the middle of the forest? It was because he had seen a group of fenrirs running out. And he assumed that something very dangerous was about to happen.

It would have been easy enough to deal with a single fenrir, but it was a whole pack… And so he wanted to take them by surprise… Though, he had not known that there would be over forty of them…
