My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 1884 - 1880: Commanding Monsters
"Kid, run! Bai Shengqi can control these monsters."
Seeing Tang Ming and Hua Yingjie appear, Tang Xinhai immediately shouted a warning.
"Bai Shengqi can also control monsters?"
Tang Ming exclaimed in disbelief.
"Hahaha! Tang Ming, Hua Yingjie, you two have finally shown up."
At that moment, Bai Shengqi appeared at the edge of the battlefield, standing atop a giant snake’s head, glaring murderously at Tang Ming and Hua Yingjie: "The first people I’ll kill are you two. Now I am the sovereign here, prepare to die."
As soon as he said this, Bai Shengqi immediately waved his hand, commanding a group of monsters to attack Tang Ming and Hua Yingjie.
"Damn it, this loser has turned the tables."
Seeing the monsters crashing towards him like a tidal wave, Tang Ming immediately began his cultivation to prepare for battle.
"Everyone, fall back."
At that moment, Hua Yingjie stood in front of Tang Ming and roared angrily.
The group of charging monsters slowed down instantly, and then looked at Hua Yingjie with reverence, stopping their attack.
"Hmm? What’s going on?"
Bai Shengqi was slightly shocked, continuously issuing commands to the monsters, but they all crouched on the ground, ignoring him, with some even returning to Bai Shengqi’s side.
"Come."
Seeing that he had intimidated the monsters, Hua Yingjie strode towards them.
Seeing Hua Yingjie so commanding, Tang Ming quickly followed.
Hua Yingjie pulled Tang Ming onto the back of a giant black rabbit, leading the crouched monsters towards the battlefield.
With Hua Yingjie’s movement, the monsters attacking Tang Xinhai and others automatically split into two camps: one camp leaned toward Hua Yingjie, the other toward Bai Shengqi.
"What’s going on here?"
With the pressure greatly reduced, Tang Xinhai stood between the two camps, looking around blankly.
"Everyone, we’re the good guys, hurry over."
Tang Ming shouted loudly to Tang Xinhai and the others.
Tang Xinhai didn’t hesitate to run towards Tang Ming and Hua Yingjie, and after a brief hesitation, a few others followed.
"Hua Yingjie, you actually gained the ability to control these mutated animals as well."
Bai Shengqi stood atop the giant snake, staring incredulously at Hua Yingjie.
"That’s what I wanted to say; I didn’t expect a despicable person like you to still have such a fortuitous encounter."
Hua Yingjie stood on the rabbit, confronting Bai Shengqi.
"What’s the deal here? Why do these two guys not need protection and are not poisoned, let alone controlling these monsters?"
The handsome Jinzijai asked with a grim face.
"Damn it, I thought having someone as bizarre as Hua Yingjie was shocking enough, but here comes another Bai Shengqi."
Tang Xinhai couldn’t help but cursing; he came seeking opportunity only to absorb some poison and boost his cultivation slightly, completely outclassed by Hua Yingjie and Bai Shengqi.
"The Heavenly Mechanism is unpredictable, it seems indeed something major is happening in the southwest."
The bespectacled man in white pushed up his glasses, looking deep in thought.
"Brother, if I remember correctly, you should be called Zhuge Guang. Seeing the technique you just employed, are you from the Heavenly Mechanism Sect?"
Tang Ming turned to Zhuge Guang, surprised that someone from the Heavenly Mechanism Sect was involved.
"Tang Ming from the Imperial City, I’ve heard of you. It seemed Zhuge Qing suffered at your hands, right?"
Zhuge Guang nodded, fiddling with his fingers while sizing up Tang Ming: "You’re indeed an anomaly, I’ve always been observing you, your performances along the way are commendable, deserving of being someone who bested my brother."
"Judging by what you said, are you looking for revenge?"
Tang Ming frowned slightly; his past with Zhuge Qing wasn’t exactly pleasant.
"The Heavenly Mechanism Sect isn’t as petty as you might think, I came here to investigate changes in the southwest, not interested in making enemies with you, and we never hold grudges; everything has its destiny."
Zhuge Guang smiled lightly, "If I wanted revenge, I would’ve acted long ago."
"Interesting, it seems I underestimated the Heavenly Mechanism Sect, no wonder it’s the leading sect in martial arts."
Tang Ming nodded repeatedly, his impression of the Heavenly Mechanism Sect improving greatly.
"Enough talk, let’s solve the problem before us first."
Shao Wuchou cursed impatiently, "Bai Shengqi’s controlling these monsters to massacre the contestants; aside from us few, everyone else is likely dead."
"Then let’s join forces to take him down."
Tang Ming looked coldly at Bai Shengqi; originally eleven people, now only he, Hua Yingjie, Bai Shengqi, Tang Xinhai, Shao Wuchou, Jinzijai, and Zhuge Qing were left, a total of seven.
"Take me down? You’re dreaming."
Bai Shengqi laughed coldly, arrogantly looking at Tang Ming and the others: "Though there are traitors, I have armies of mutated animals under my command; can you really kill me?"
As he finished, countless green eyes appeared behind Bai Shengqi, the monsters’ eyes glowing, outnumbering Hua Yingjie’s forces several times over.
"Trouble! This guy has been recruiting monsters since entering here, forming a massive monster army."
Hua Yingjie’s expression changed slightly, worriedly reminding, "I can only turn the monsters he just controlled, while those long loyal to him have formed loyalty; I can’t steal their control."
"Then the numbers are really disproportionate."
Tang Ming glanced around, his expression instantly serious.
"Afraid of nothing! Though he has more monsters, we have more martial generals."
Tang Xinhai laughed coldly, fearlessly shouting: "Six martial generals joining forces and with so many monsters, we might not lose facing him."
"That’s right! These monsters are strong but not that powerful, we’ve destroyed plenty."
Zhuge Guang smiled lightly, feeling more confident with Hua Yingjie—another monster controller—as a companion.
"Alright. Since that’s the case, let’s do it."
Hearing this, Hua Yingjie nodded firmly, eager to participate in such a martial general battle, clearly one of the main forces this time.
"Wait!"
Just as the tension was peaking, Jinzijai suddenly laughed: "Everyone, haven’t we forgotten why we came here? At this point, there’s no need to conceal our intents; nobody came here for the medical competition alone, and now only martial generals remain; we should lay our cards on the table."
"Indeed, if we continue fighting like this, it’s likely we’ll end up in mutual destruction."
Shao Wuchou also smiled and spoke, "You must’ve noticed, we’re not far from this space’s center point, and there’s a glow emanating; surely there’s treasure there."
