My Core is the Boss
Chapter 304.1: Blood Essence
A blood-red glow rose and flashed by in an instant. The civilians on the hilltop widened their eyes.
Yaji tightly held onto his little sister, his pupils contracting. "D-did Mr. Qi do this?”
The scene before him surpassed his wildest imagination. Even modern weaponry would find it difficult to create such a terrifying spectacle. Perhaps only a movie’s depiction of a god’s terrifying attack could capture even a fraction of it. However, that was only films, filled with special effects and the like.
Yaji's young mind was filled with all kinds of emotions. "Sir, is he some kind of a god?"

Inside the prison deep within the steel structure of the camp, Kuang Huan’s eyes were filled with surprise. "The sound stopped!"
The bearded man next to him widened his eyes. "There was a flash of red light, and then nothing...?"
Even from here, they could clearly hear the gunfire and artillery outside. Thinking the camp had come under attack, they were on edge, not knowing what awaited them. They had never imagined this camp could be breached. After all, this was inside Wugui territory.
With three thousand soldiers stationed here, Yuelang would have a difficult time breaking this far inside. A war of this intensity was not something Yuelang could organize on short notice. What had occurred was likely just a small-scale raid.
Yet afterward, in that single instant, the world turned blood-red.
Kuang Huan was utterly bewildered. The bearded man imprisoned beside him was equally bewildered, having no idea what had happened. After that enormous bloody light flashed past, it was followed by a huge commotion. Then the entire camp suddenly fell silent.
The sounds of gunfire ceased. There were no alarms. Even the soldiers stationed in the prison seemed to have vanished. To be honest, it was rather eerie.
The two of them were deeply puzzled.
"What’s going on?!"
"Why isn't there any sound at all?"
That bloody light lingered in their minds. Neither of them had any idea what had happened.
Just then, light footsteps sounded, echoing especially clearly in the prison. The two held their breath, then relaxed slightly. If there were footsteps, that meant the camp was fine.
The stationed soldiers were probably just on patrol. The two looked toward the source of the footsteps. There stood an iron door, which was also the only entrance and exit to the prison.
Suddenly, a streak of bloody light flashed past.
Before the two could even react, the iron door split apart like tofu. The two were shocked beyond their wits.
The bearded man was full of questions. "W-what’s going on?! What weapon is that? Who is it?"
From beyond the shattered iron door, a tall and well-proportioned figure appeared, a smile on his handsome and elegant face. "Kuang Huan, I've come to take you away."
The moment Kuang Huan saw that face, stormy waves surged in his heart. "M-Mr. Qi!"
The bearded man froze, then turned to Kuang Huan. "Do you know each other? What's going on?"
Today, the words he had said the most were, "What's going on?"
Qi Yuan said slowly, "Two days ago, I received a call from your wife. I heard you had met with trouble in Wugui and were captured by their military, so I came here to bring you back."
He stated as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.
Kuang Huan's heart trembled, followed by gratitude.
The bearded man, however, was stunned. "Were you the one that caused all the commotion up there just now? Your team is incredible. And that blood-red light... What kind of weapon was that? Why have I never heard of it?"
He had also voiced Kuang Huan's doubts.
Qi Yuan answered calmly, "Sword radiance, of course. Alright, come with me. We're returning to Qin Yuan."
He swung his long sword again, shattering the steel prison door ahead.
The bearded man’s eyes widened to maximum.
Kuang Huan, however, had calmed down. He knew Qi Yuan was a cultivator. Cutting through an iron door with a sword should be nothing unusual.
The viscount asked carefully, "Sir, this bearded man is also from Qin Yuan. Could he come with us as well?"
After all, Qi Yuan had risked danger to save him, and each additional person meant more risk. He naturally assumed had worked together with his younger sister to infiltrate the camp. Most likely, they had used drones to bomb the military camp, and snuck into prison while the chaos ensued.
It never even occurred to him that Qi Yuan had faced the entire military head-on. The combat power unleashed by three thousand fully armed modern soldiers was beyond imagination.
Qi Yuan nodded. "That's fine."
Joy glimmered in the bearded man's eyes. "Thank you."
Thus, the two stepped out of the prison and followed behind Qi Yuan. Though they had many questions, they knew that the priority was sneaking out of the camp and meeting up with whoever was waiting for them. Lingering was the last thing they should do.
At that moment, Qi Yuan said again, "We're not in a hurry to leave. There's a rather interesting place in this camp. Follow me."
It went without saying that Kuang Huan did not dare object to Qi Yuan.
The bearded man anxiously asked, "If we don't hurry up and leave, what if the soldiers above discover us?"
Qi Yuan responded casually, "Don't worry. They won't discover us. They're all dead."
The bearded man was stunned, confused. "Dead?"
Qi Yuan did not hide it, nor was there any to. "I killed them all in one strike."
The bearded man froze, still unable to understand. "Killed them all?"
Kuang Huan's eyes shrank, and a terrifying thought arose in his heart. Could it be...?
Before the topic could continue, Qi Yuan led the two across the prison.
They encountered many soldiers' corpses along the way. On the surface, those corpses appeared peaceful, with no visible wounds. It was as if they had simply died in the middle of going about their daily routine.
The bearded man fell silent, no longer daring to speak. He could only secretly glance at Qi Yuan from time to time.
Kuang Huan said nothing, but his walking speed unconsciously increased. Soon, they passed through many structures and arrived before an iron door. The air seemed to be filled with the smell of disinfectant, along with a thick scent of blood.
With the flash of the long sword, the iron door came crashing down.
The viscount watched Qi Yuan with envy. On the other hand, the bearded man appeared astonished and thoughtful, seemingly puzzled about how Qi Yuan had accomplished such a feat.
As the iron door broke apart, an enormous hall came into view. Inside were more than thirty huge, cylindrical glass containers, filled with liquid. Three people were immersed within.
