Chapter 129: Going to the Moriarty clan

Alex walked toward his family at an unhurried pace, yet every step seemed to press down on the air itself. The ground did not tremble, and no visible force radiated from him, but the atmosphere carried a suffocating weight that none of them could ignore. It was not mere strength. It was authority, something far beyond anything they had ever witnessed or imagined.

His father and mother stood still, their expressions rigid and uncertain. They looked at him as though he had become something foreign, something no longer entirely human. Alex had always been strong. Even before everything changed, his abilities had exceeded normal limits. Yet that strength had still been within the boundaries of comprehension. What he displayed now was not.

Elizabeth was the first to speak, her voice steady but strained.

"Alex, what is going on?"

Alex stopped in front of them. His expression softened slightly, though the depth behind his eyes remained distant, as if he were looking far beyond this moment.

"Mom, Dad, we need to talk. But before that, we should visit the Moriarty family. I want to see the family tree."

Noah studied him for a moment before nodding.

"Alright."

Alex gave a small acknowledgment, then turned away and walked toward Anna.

She had retreated a few steps earlier, curling into herself as if trying to make her presence smaller. When she saw him approaching, her entire body stiffened. Her face flushed deeply, and her hands trembled slightly at her sides. There was hesitation in her posture, fear in her eyes, and something else that she could not suppress no matter how hard she tried.

Alex stopped a short distance from her.

For a brief moment, he said nothing.

His thoughts were unusually tangled. It was not that he disliked her. In fact, there was a certain sincerity in her feelings that he respected. However, his life had already spiraled far beyond anything ordinary. He was no longer dealing with matters confined to a single world. His enemies, his responsibilities, and the forces surrounding him had all escalated to a scale that left no room for personal attachments.

Binding someone to that path would not be kindness. It would be a burden.

"Anna," he said quietly, his tone controlled and calm, "I understand how you feel."

She looked up at him, her eyes trembling with expectation and fear.

"But my life is already too complicated," he continued. "What I am facing now is not something I can step away from. I cannot bring someone else into that. It would not be fair to you."

Her lips parted slightly, but no words came out.

"If there comes a time when everything is under control," Alex went on, "and if you still feel the same way then, I may consider it. But right now, I cannot accept your feelings."

The words were gentle, but they carried no ambiguity.

Anna felt a sharp pain spread through her chest. She had known, deep down, that this was a possibility. She had never truly believed she could stand beside someone like him. Still, emotions did not follow logic, and knowing something did not lessen its impact.

For a moment, her vision blurred.

Then she forced herself to steady.

She drew in a quiet breath, held it, and released it slowly. When she looked at him again, she was smiling. It was not a perfect smile, but it was genuine in its own way.

"I understand," she said softly. "I will wait. And I will try to become someone worthy of standing beside you. You should focus on what you need to do."

Alex regarded her for a moment, then nodded.

"Thank you."

He turned away without lingering.

"I will be leaving Earth again," he added, his voice carrying just enough for everyone nearby to hear. "But you do not need to worry. No one will disturb humanity anymore."

There was no arrogance in his tone. It was simply a statement.

Then his gaze shifted toward Victor.

Victor stood rigidly in place, his earlier composure completely gone. He looked like a man awaiting judgment, his body stiff and his expression pale.

Alex’s lips curved slightly, though there was no warmth in it.

"Dad," he said, glancing at Noah, "what should we do with these motherfuckers? They are technically our ancestors, aren’t they?"

Noah followed his gaze, his brow furrowing.

"What exactly are they?"

Alex paused briefly, then realized that no one from modern Earth truly understood the origins of these beings. Without delay, he gave a concise explanation of the ancient human race, their actions, and the consequences of their betrayal.

As his words settled in, the mood shifted.

The surrounding crowd, including those who had once been neutral, began to look at the ancient humans with undisguised hostility. Even the vampires present showed visible anger. If not for the actions of these bastards, much of the suffering that followed might never have occurred.

Victor felt the weight of those gazes press down on him. His throat tightened, and he instinctively dropped to his knees.

He opened his mouth to speak, desperation already forming in his expression.

"If you say a single word," Alex interrupted coldly, "I will erase you right away."

The temperature seemed to drop instantly.

Victor froze. His lips snapped shut, and he lowered his head, not daring to make a sound.

Alex’s patience was thin.

"You are not from Earth," Alex said, his voice sharp. "What is someone from the Immortal Human Race doing here?"

Victor’s face drained of what little color remained.

"How does he know?" the thought echoed frantically in his mind.

"I... I..." he stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence.

"Think before you speak," Alex said, his tone cutting through the hesitation. "Do not waste my time."

Victor swallowed hard.

"I was exiled," he said quickly. "The Immortal Human Race is an eternal-grade race in my universe. I was cast out and ended up being transported here. I found this planet afterward."

He stopped, his breathing was uneven.

Alex watched him for a moment, then nodded slightly. He had already gathered enough information about that race from other sources. Victor’s explanation aligned with what he knew. There were no such race in this universe and he had fought with a genius in from another universe in that trial ground.

"Give me the martial soul awakening technique," Alex said.

There was no negotiation in his voice.

"Yes, yes," Victor replied immediately, fumbling as he produced the technique and handed it over with both hands.

Alex took it without comment.

"Sage Merlin," he said, turning slightly, "Please seal them again. They do not deserve freedom."

The ancient humans erupted into panic.

"No, please!"

"Forgive us!"

"We will not do it again!"

Their voices overlapped in desperation as they fell to their knees.

Alex did not look at them.

"I will provide enough resources for them to survive," he said calmly. "If I find it appropriate later, I may release them."

He paused briefly.

"Until then, they remain sealed."

"Understood," Merlin replied.

With a simple wave of his hand, space beneath the ancient humans distorted. A dark void opened, silent and absolute. Before they could react further, they were swallowed by it, disappearing without a trace.

The area fell quiet.

Moments later, Alex appeared in front of Valthor.

"Give me a drop of your essence blood," he said.

Valthor did not hesitate.

"Yes, sir."

He produced a small droplet of blood that glowed faintly with concentrated energy. For a vampire, essence blood was the core of their existence. It was not something given lightly under normal circumstances.

Alex took it, then returned to Noah.

"Dad, let us go to the Moriarty clan."

Noah nodded.

In the distance, members of the Moriarty family had already gathered. When they heard that Alex intended to visit, their reactions were immediate and unrestrained. Excitement spread through the group. Even if they did not fully understand his power, they were not foolish. They had seen enough to know that Alex stood at a level that even the supreme cosmic races treated with caution.

Noah stepped forward and faced Alexander.

"Grandfather," he said, his tone was measured, "do you permit us to visit the clan?"

Alexander’s composure broke at that point.

A tear slipped down his face as he stepped closer.

"Noah... please forgive me," he said. "Come back to the family."

Noah remained silent for a moment. He glanced at Elizabeth, then at Alex.

Elizabeth gave a small nod.

"Very well," Noah said. "Prepare a grand feast. Invite everyone."

Alexander wiped his eyes quickly, his expression brightening with a smile.

"Yes. Of course."

The surrounding family members erupted into motion, their earlier tension replaced with excitement and relief.

Before leaving, Merlin approached Alex and handed him a small device.

"Finish what you need to do," he said. "Call me when you are ready. I will come to pick you up."

Alex accepted it.

"Alright."

He turned to Valthor.

"Stay here. I will call you when it is time to go to your clan."

"Yes, your highness," Valthor replied immediately.

Alex then left with his family.

...

Far away, Merlin appeared near the sun. The intense heat and light had no effect on him. He closed his eyes briefly.

Moments later, six figures appeared before him, each radiating immense power. They bowed in unison.

"Master."

Merlin opened his eyes.

"Protect Alex Moriarty until he completes his matters here," he said.

Without waiting for a response, he vanished.

"As you wish, Master," the eldest disciple replied.

He stood slightly ahead of the others, his presence steady and restrained. He was already close to reaching the Sage level.

One of the others let out a quiet sigh.

"He advanced too quickly," he said. "To think he would become the disciple of someone at that level."

There was a trace of regret in his voice.

...

Back at the Moriarty clan, Alex appeared within the estate grounds.

He looked around briefly.

There was no sense of nostalgia in his expression. The place held no emotional weight for him.

"Prepare a room for me," he said. "I will enter seclusion."

He paused, then added,

"And gather the complete family tree. I need to trace the origin of this vampire bloodline."
