My Last Wish Is to open a Restaurant with Miss Villainess
Chapter 32: We need more employees, Miss Villainess! (4)
In the game, there was a cutscene showing Tizmilly asking Gyllena to help her sabotaging the Last Dungeon Expedition of their class, of which she demanded her to use her connection to set some traps for Ahlia and her party.
Tizmilly at that time had already become too obsessed with taking revenge. Her words harsh, her arrogant personality has lost its elegance, and her eyes were filled with endless hatred and shadow.
"Get out!"
And Gyllena refused. She ridiculed Tizmilly, saying that she was her friend no more.
"Why!? Did we not share the same? Was these memories were all but meaningless thing to you, Gyllena!?"
Gyllena responded with a cold, dagger-sharp stare.
"I never knew a childhood friend who was planning to murder someone like a filthy lowlife."
After that, Gyllena spilled the word about Tizmilly’s plan to the Crown prince of the Empire, Agraviel. Which started the countdown to the ultimate fall of the Villainess.
...
We let everyone inside and separated them into two groups. Gyllena and her knights to the second floor to wait for her meal, while the Dungeon Divers and Carole’s friends would stay in the first floor with us for the interview.
I ordered Carole to serve Gyllena politely while my Mother and Tizmilly went to the kitchen to start cooking for Gyllena and preparing the cookies for our applicants.
We let them sat on the chairs that were already lined orderly to meet our need. Because we lacked people, the one who served them with teas was Timmy in his butler uniform, and I would become their sole interviewer.
They sipped their teas quietly while I waiting until they finished.
"Welcome, everyone," I greeted them once I confimed that they were ready.
"For those who don’t know, nice to meet you all here today. My name is Theo Roost. I am the founder of this Restaurant."
I paused and looked at their races. They all listened my speech, though some didn’t look too interested. Especially a girl who looked like Gerena. She was just playing with her spoon while I was talking.
’Her name... If I am not wrong, is Rosa... No, Rasa... Right?’
I continued while I was scanning their expressions.
"The Tiz & Roosts is different from other normal eatery. Here, we uphold equality highly. Some of you already know about it, but I’ll explain it again for those who have yet to know..."
I repeated the explanation Tizmilly gave to Carole’s friends at the previous interview.
Their reactions were varied. Carole’s friends didn’t looked too surprised, since it was not the first time they hear about it. But for the Dungeon Divers, some of them frowned after they heard my explanation.
One of them raised their hand.
I looked at him and let him speak.
He was a middle-aged man with unkept beard.
"Wait," He said, raising one of his eyebrow. "Boss, are you serious, to put people, no matter how highly or lowly regarded them in the society, to eat in the same place?"
"Of course," I answered without a second thought. I wouldn’t give after I decided to do it.
"For you, do I looked like I was kidding?" I asked him with a smile.
The man looked straight into my eyes. His fingers rhythmically rapping the table surface every second, like a ticking clock.
After a while, the man clicked his tongue. "Tsk, I am out."
"I don’t have time to play with your dangerous game, kid. Well, thanks for the tea, though. That’s good," Said the man before he leave the place.
Following after him, two other Divers leave the place. Now we had only five Dungeon Diver applicants left. I didn’t mind it and continued the interview. But before that, we will give them something to eat first.
Timmy came out of the kitchen with a tray full of small plates filled with cookies. He gave the applicants each one plate before went back into the kitchen with three small plate of cookies that had lost the ones that were supposed to eat them.
"Well then, please, feel free to eat your cookies," I said, taking a sip of my tea.
I didn’t want the interview to be too strict, as that would ruin the very essence of our restaurant. So I would let them relax their nerves again before we enter the real interview.
Our best menu, Lemon Filet with Luxe Salad, was ready while we were taking our time. Tizmilly herself brought it to Gyllena while wearing her maid uniform. Her determination had filled her eyes with fire. I prayed for her success and continued the interview once the applicants stopped eating either because they finished their cookies, or because they was full.
I let them introduce themselves first before I started asking the from Divers.
"Is there any particular reason you chose to work in our place?" The ultimate interview question was used again, of course.
The young woman who was asked scratched her head. She looked at the ceiling, trying to recall something.
I twirled my pen between my fingers while patiently waiting her. She need a whole 5 minutes before she could come up with something.
"Err... Because I want to a safer job?"
I rubbed my chin as I wrote down what I understood about her into my small board.
’Undecided. And also a bit... Slow-witted? Not a good option to be a guard..."
Next.
"Well, you know that someone can’t stay forever as a Dungeon Diver, right? I am 28s already this year. My prime years was almost over. Soon, my body will start to become weaker and weaker, until ultimately, the day that I can’t wield a Gemgun anymore come, which will certainly ends my career. So before that..."
’Thought character. Not bad. But can’t he explain everything with just few sentences?’
Next.
"I want to work here because I want to!"
I paused, then looked at the young man’s face. Well, not that young actually, maybe 18 year old or more. Older than my current body. But want to work because he want to? Now he intrigued me.
’His name is Ivandel... right.’
His blonde hair was cut short, even shorter than my hair. With a wide smile, his eyes were sparkling to show his enthusiasm.
"Can you explain your motivation somewhat more detailed, Ivandel?" I asked him.
And his answer was: "No, sir!"
Silence filled the room. The other applicants looked at Ivandel as if they were looking at an idiot.
"Hmm..."
I narrowed my eyes at him.
’Interesting character. He might has potential.’
All of the Divers had claimed to be a skilled Dungeon Divers who had at least cleared the 15th floor of any Dungeon. So their skills were decent. And this man, Ivandel, also had a well-trained build. I could tell how good his balance was by analizing how he move.
"I see," I said before moved to the next person.
"I haven’t get enough money working as a Dungeon Diver. With each broken equipments, I had to buy the new one to replace it, which cost more that anyone could expect. During these times, I was forced to eat hard bread, that stone-like thing... So I want to stop working as a Dungeon Diver. And the weekly wage was higher than my weekly yield after tirelessly diving into the Dungeon and risks my life. And that’s irritating, because it made me wanted to work here even more!"
He maybe the youngest out of them. Only one year younger than me. Black-haired, a bit short than most, but from my view, he was certainly had some skill.
’Have high-spirit and determination. His personality is slightly unmatured, since he still young, but beside that, he lacks nothing.’
The boy’s name is Karr.
I knew that whether I accepted him here or not, he would certainly become a great fighter later. He was untrained, but had the tenacity needed to reach the top of the Dungeon Divers. He only need time to grow.
’Hire him, or not?’
I was pondering about that as I continued to interview the others.
Everything was smooth sailing. With no problem, except when I was interviewing Carole’s friend who named Davina. She was a little tricky to deal with, since the way of her brain working was different from normal person’s.
The only thing left was to discuss about who we would hire with Tizmilly and others.
I was about to got to the kitchen and ask my Mother about it when a particular young girl rushed down from the second floor. Her heels made a loud sounds as she stopped just before us and started gasping for air. She was not a combatant, so her stamina must be her lowest stat.
"Wait, Gyllena!"
Following after her, Tizmilly and the two female bodyguards showed up.
As the applicants and me staring curiously at her, Gyllena suddenly raised her pointer finger.
"I want to meet with the chef!"
’Ah, damn,’ I sighed inwardly.
Suddenly, I smell trouble out of this situation.
