Chapter 39: A Gift for Miss Villainess (2)

Tizmilly had long wanted to show Theo the results of her training. Now, she finally had her chance.

She swam toward the Deep Clam, her posture sharp and her movements swift. Noticing her approach, the Deep Clam opened its shell, extending dozens of tendrils that began to whip in a circular motion. Within a minute, the force was strong enough to create a violent whirlpool.

"So this is what ended Hero Ranvirr’s life," Tizmilly muttered.

Without the Aqua Rune, the pressure would have crushed her. But with its protection, she could endure the brunt of the vortex.

Shielding her face, Tizmilly slowly pushed through the churning water. She began creating Rose Bombs continuously, letting the current carry the buds away, swirling them around the monster.

It got harder to swim with every passing second. The roar of the whirlpool became deafening, drowning out all other senses. To drive her away, the Deep Clam launched high-pressure water balls at her. She managed to evade most, though a few caught her, pushing her back into the dark water.

But her eyes remained locked on her target. Her lips moved silently, counting the buds she had released while carefully monitoring her mana reserve.

Finally, she released the hundredth Rose Bomb. The buds now completely encircled the whirlpool. She had reached the ideal distance.

She flicked her fingers, and the trap was sprung.

In an instant, icy vines invaded the vortex, weaving around the Deep Clam. A crimson prison of frozen roses erupted from the depths.

"Ice Rose: One Hundred Prison!" Tizmilly chanted.

The spell manifested spectacularly, a massive rose blossoming atop the frozen cage. With the Deep Clam trapped, the whirlpool faded, returning a haunting stillness to the underwater world.

For the finale, Tizmilly released one last, fully blossomed ice rose.

"Ice Rose: Crimson Coffin."

The rose drifted down, landing on the center of the larger flower. It passed through the barrier as if it didn’t exist, entering the heart of the prison.

Then—

Dozens of massive thorns erupted from within, shattering the One Hundred Prison and the Deep Clam alike. The remains crumbled into mana particles, sparkling in the dark water.

Tizmilly swam down, retrieved the large water element gem left behind by the Floor Boss, and showed it to Theo with a confident smile.

...

Theo swam toward Tizmilly, his eyes looking around at the ruined silt surface and coral reef.

"To think that she managed to inflict that much damage and still have mana left... She had grown so fast," he muttered while shaking his head.

The moment his heels touched the silt surface, Tizmilly immediately approached him, holding the big gem out for him to see. Her eyes sparkled. "What do you think about my new spells, Mr. Roost?" She asked with a big smile.

Theo looked around the place as he continued. "We have to be quick when trying to defeat the Deep Clam. As time passed, its whirlpool will only grow stronger. Hero Ranvirr underestimated it and let it alone until it made a catastrophical vortex that filled the whole place. That’s why he die."

Then Theo looked at Tizmilly again, extending his hand to pat her head. "You did it very well in that regard. With your magic, you disrupted its most powerful weapon, rendering it powerless, before ends it with a last, deathly move."

A smile formed on his face. "That was a masterpiece, Tizmilly. Hero Ranvirr would be crying in his grave if he saw how easy you made that look."

Theo gave her three more pats before retracted his hand. That left Tizmilly stunned, her face as red as a tomato. But she didn’t dislike it.

Still with his smile, Theo turned around with his hands planted on his waist. "Now, let’s go look for your gift!"

But Tizmilly didn’t responded. He looked at her, and she was still froze in place.

"Tizmilly?" He called her out, waving his hand before her face.

She flinched, finally sobered up. She hastily raised her hands up to hide her embarrassment. "A-ah, yes, let’s go!"

With that, Theo began to lead her pass the coral reefs toward the northern side of the place. They only stopped once they almost reached the wall.

"It should be around this place," Theo said, rubbing his chin while looking around the mismatched combination of coral reefs.

"Hero Ranvirr passed away here?" Tizmilly asked, her eyes curiously scanned the area.

Theo chuckled. "Kind of. For some reason, he was gathering something with his party around here at that time."

"Before the vortex created by the Deep Clam swallowed and drowned them?" Tizmilly guessed the end of the story.

He grinned as Theo shrugged. "Unfortunately, yes. Anyway, let’s quickly start looking for the sword. We need to go back before the dinner."

Tizmilly nodded in response. She also didn’t want to miss the chance of eating Calary’s heavenly dishes. She thought she might had fell in love to her cookings.

With that, they separated and began searching for the Magic Sword left behind by Hero Ranvirr. They checked every corner, for example: behind a big coral, under a big rock, or even inside an underwater cave.

As she brushed aside some seaweed, Tizmilly’s fingers brushed against something hard and cold. It wasn’t the sword, but a rusted, broken shield—half-buried in the silt. She stared at it, realizing this was all that remained of Ranvirr’s dream of glory. The silence of the Drowned Pit suddenly felt much heavier. It wasn’t just a game world to her; it was a graveyard of real ambitions.

—5 minutes later.

They still couldn’t find the sword.

Tizmilly looked up at some bubbles coming out of her nose. Before she turned to look at Theo. "Are you sure that the sword was still in this place, Mr. Roost? After all these years, don’t you think it was already taken by someone?"

Theo shook his head stubbornly in response. "I am a reincarnator, remember? I know about it from the game. Hero Ranvirr’s Magic Sword will never be found by anyone until the protagonist, Ahlia, looking for it. So it is still here. Certainly!"

She pursed her lips, before refocused back to looking for the sword with a sigh.

"Who is even Ahlia?" Tizmilly muttered, felt annoyed for some reason.

The only thing that made her interested to Hero Ranvirr’s Magic Sword was because Theo said that he would gave it to her as a celebratory gift. She didn’t actually need it or something.

’Was Mr. Roost telling the truth about everything? Even about his reincarnation, and that... Game?’ Tizmilly idly thought.

Right then, when she jumped up to the top of a big coral reefs, her eyes picked up something shimmering from the side of her vision.

The light came from the coral formation, from something blue that was covered by them. The Villainess crouched and checked it up close. To her surprise, it was a sword handle.

Tizmilly pulled the handle out of the coral formation, revealing its shimmering soft blueish blade.

"Who would have thought that it true that a Hero actually so tragic to meet his end in the hands of a Floor Boss of a low-level Dungeon?"

Tizmilly’s face became a blank mask for a moment. Once she recovered, she immediately called Theo over.

Theo laughed when his eyes landed onto the shimmering sword in her hands. "Maybe you really are destined to hold this sword, after all, Tizmilly," he muttered with a smile.

Tizmilly, however, didn’t look that happy. She seemed to be stressed instead. "If the story of Hero Ranvirr is real, then won’t everything you just told me before—about the end of the world, and your reincarnation—were also true!?"

He let out a sigh and picked up the sword from Tizmilly’s hold, raising it upward. A mysterious grin on his face. "Who knows? Maybe I am telling the truth, or maybe I am lying, just as you believed until now."

Then he placed the sword back on Tizmilly’s palms after he satisfied. "Anyway let’s go home. Hero Ranvirr die because he underestimated his opponent. While you wields in the future, don’t forget about it. That’s my gift for you. It’s called Waveblade. The sword that was told to be capable of wielding the ocean."

Theo didn’t wait for her to process her fear. He grabbed her hand—the one not holding the Waveblade—and began swimming upward. "No more thinking for today, Tiz. The only ’end of the world’ I’m worried about right now is if my mom finds out we’re five minutes late for her roast beef."

They broke the surface of the water with a loud splash, gasping for the fresh, evening air of the Dungeon City. As they walked back towards the house of Roost Family, the blue glow of the Waveblade in Tizmilly’s hand felt surprisingly warm. She looked at Theo’s back, realizing that regardless of whether he was a reincarnator or a liar, he was the only person who had ever handed her a weapon instead of a chain.
