My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 343 - 231: Chen, Long Time No See
"Isn’t that Professor Jiangg?"
"I don’t remember there being a philosophy class today. Did the schedule change?"
"No... I’m a little dizzy. How did Professor Jiangg split? There are two of her!"
"Whoa! For real... Two people who look exactly the same. Are they twins?"
"Professor Jiangg cloned herself. There’s one of her, and another one of her. Am I hallucinating or something...?"
"What’s going on?"
Everyone in the lecture hall was whispering, the low sound waves resonating. They were like a swarm of bees, their abdomens trembling as they buzzed.
Nothing less could express the crowd’s astonishment.
They could see clearly now. Before them was none other than Jiangg Ning, the former philosophy lecturer and associate professor at Lanjing University. She had, however, already resigned.
This news had not yet been made public.
The shock of seeing two identical people standing together was immense. The students stared at each other, then back at the twins, their eyes wide as they tried to find some subtle difference between them.
But no matter how hard they looked, aside from a slight difference in their makeup and the style of their white dresses, they were identical.
Their faces and height were, it could be said, exactly the same.
It was truly a rare spectacle.
Everyone was naturally dumbstruck. If the "second Professor Jiangg" before them hadn’t looked so real, some might have suspected it was some new technology or even a clone. But technology was nowhere near that advanced. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Cloning was something that only happened in the movies.
The low hum of discussion made Jiangg Yao feel utterly uncomfortable. She didn’t dare lift her head to look around, feeling her social anxiety about to flare up... Suddenly, she felt a sudden pressure on the back of her hand.
Her older sister squeezed her hand a little tighter.
"Is that Professor Jiangg and her younger sister? Oh my god... To think there are actually identical, beautiful twins in the world! Did you see that? Did you see that!"
Liu Nan rubbed his eyes, incomparably excited.
"Saw it. It’s pretty damn shocking."
"If you added one more, couldn’t you synthesize a two-star Professor Jiangg?"
Beside him, Wei Zhen and Quan Yafeng also stood up.
Chen Yuan was also a bit dazed. He stood on his tiptoes to get a look, but then felt it was beneath his dignity and sat back down.
But once seated, he couldn’t see anything. The overlapping figures in front of him formed a solid barrier.
He was annoyed at being blocked.
’Why are Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao here at the university?’
’What on earth are they planning to do?’
’Are they here to get back together with me?’
’But doing this in front of so many people is just too irrational. How can they air such a private matter out in the open?’
Chen Yuan’s mind was a tangled mess, as if he’d been solidly struck by a sledgehammer. He was too stunned to calm down and think straight.
The two sisters appearing at the same time was undoubtedly like a single stone setting off a thousand ripples.
Jiangg Ning had considered that they might attract a lot of attention, which was why they had worn masks all the way from the university gate to the classroom door. They couldn’t very well keep them on after entering, but she hadn’t expected the situation to become so uncontrollable.
A bold girl in the front row even started talking to her directly.
She asked how the usual single Professor Jiangg had suddenly become two.
She didn’t want to answer and could only smile and wave her hand dismissively.
Besides, so many people were standing up in the lecture hall that she couldn’t find Chen Yuan at all.
For the two sisters, attracting others’ gazes was an utterly annoying affair. They didn’t need so much attention; even one of them alone was followed by stares wherever she went.
Needless to say, it was even worse when the two of them were together.
This was also why the two sisters rarely went out together.
Jiangg Ning really wanted to shout for all the students to sit down obediently and be quiet; her occupational habits as a lecturer were kicking in.
Just then.
"Professor Jiangg! Over here!"
A shout that was countless times louder than the murmurs instantly captured everyone’s attention, and many people turned their heads to look.
A hint of pleasant surprise appeared in Jiangg Ning’s eyes.
The one who had shouted was Wei Zhen. He was jumping up and down and waving his hands, like a monkey in the jungle calling to its friends.
"What are you doing?" Chen Yuan was shocked.
He grabbed Wei Zhen’s sleeve, trying to pull him down.
While he was sitting, there was no way the two sisters could have found him. Now, his exact coordinates had been exposed.
This was, of course, something Jiangg Ning and Wei Zhen had arranged beforehand. While Chen Yuan had been passing his dull days in a daze, he had assumed the two sisters had done nothing and had accepted the breakup. But that wasn’t the case at all.
They had been making a great deal of effort.
Coming here today was just one part of their plan.
In the crowded aisle, students stood shoulder to shoulder, their heads packed together. They swayed slightly as they watched the two sisters make their way up the steps, their gazes and countless thoughts intertwining.
They performed a not-so-solemn salute with their eyes.
Jiangg Yao was undoubtedly facing an immense challenge. She ascended the steps with some difficulty, her face flushing red and her steps slightly unsteady.
Outside the classroom, the continuous spring breeze swept over the awakening earth, swirling through the campus, gently caressing the plane trees on the tree-lined avenue before brushing past the green lawns and the old clock tower.
In some classrooms with open windows, the wind flipped through dozens of pages of textbooks, and ballpoint pens rolled a few times on desks with a soft TATT-TATT.
Leaves trembled and curled, and a sparrow perched outside the classroom puffed out its chest, the downy feathers on its belly quivering.
"Excuse me, please let us through... Thank you."
"Thanks."
Inside the classroom, Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao, one behind the other, moved forward with great difficulty.
They were just steps that one could normally climb with a few casual strides, yet the journey felt as exhausting as scaling Mount Everest. The stuffy air made sweat bead on their temples.
Strangely, the crowd grew quiet.
Everyone watched the flash of their pale ankles as their skirts swayed. They watched their joined hands, the subtle differences in their expressions, and the flush-faced girl following closely, almost tentatively, behind her identical older sister. One by one, the students along the aisle began to sit down, perhaps feeling that it was impolite to stare down at them from above.
True politeness was to sit down and watch quietly.
At the very least, a sight so rare one might only see it once in a lifetime deserved some measure of respect.
As the students gradually sat down, the sisters’ faces slowly came into Chen Yuan’s view, like patches of light filtering through a parted thicket of dense trees.
Chen Yuan met their gazes with a complicated expression.
The two of them were lightly biting their lips, like children who had done something wrong. Their gazes would occasionally drift away, yet their tentative, infinitely careful eyes were heart-wrenchingly endearing.
Just as planned, Wei Zhen and Quan Yafeng got up from their seats, their expressions full of unmistakable mischief and a cunning glint in their eyes.
"Don’t get in the way."
Liu Nan was still standing there in a daze until Quan Yafeng yanked him out of the way.
Jiangg Ning shot him a grateful look, then pulled Jiangg Yao along and walked in, stopping beside Chen Yuan.
Yaoyao was the first to sit, gathering her skirt as she settled down on his left.
The classroom was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Almost everyone heard Jiangg Ning speak softly:
"Chen, may I sit on the inside?"
