Chapter 349: Chapter 234: Deep Brotherhood, Chen Yuan Unaware of the 2 Moles in His Dorm

She wore a floral-print dress and white sneakers. Under the bright sun, her outfit gave her the sweet charm of the girl next door.

Her smile alone left the two brothers captivated.

They waved their hands in a flurry, not daring to accept a handshake. She was their good friend’s girlfriend, after all; keeping a respectful distance couldn’t hurt.

"Since it has come to this, we have nothing left to hide. The truth is, my sister and I... well, some very awkward things happened with Chen Yuan. How much have you heard?" Jiangg Ning asked, testing the waters.

"A little bit."

"Yuan told us everything."

Quan Yafeng and Wei Zhen spoke at the same time, but their answers were completely out of sync, showing no coordination whatsoever.

They exchanged a look, and one of them had the sense to shut up.

"If Chen told you everything, then that saves me the effort of explaining. In any case, it’s a complicated situation. We had a falling out and he moved out on his own... We can’t find him either."

"I don’t know where Yuan moved to, either. No clue."

"Don’t be nervous. I’m not trying to pry about that. Knowing his location wouldn’t do us any good anyway. The main thing is that my sister and I have been reflecting deeply, and we sincerely want to apologize to him to make up for the hurt we’ve caused."

"Right," Jiangg Yao added. "I’ve been tossing and turning every night these past few days, too guilty to sleep. I’ve called him so many times, but he never picks up... I really want to apologize to him face-to-face."

As she spoke, the rims of her eyes quickly turned red.

She lowered her head, looking as if she was on the verge of tears from guilt.

Jiangg Yao pressed her lips together.

Jiangg Ning quickly grasped her hand, whispering words of comfort and telling her not to cry. She then pulled out a few tissues and placed them in her sister’s hand.

"This..."

Quan Yafeng’s heart immediately softened. He had always held a great deal of respect for Jiangg as a teacher.

’This didn’t seem to be what Yuan had described at all, this tale of constant deception. How could such a genuine display of emotion be completely fake? And Jiangg Yao looked so lovely and vulnerable—not at all like some toxic girl.’

’She was nothing like the secretly manipulative girls they were used to hearing about.’

"We know Yuan’s personality. He can’t stand being lied to. He probably just needs a few days to cool off," Wei Zhen said.

"That’s fine. He can take all the time he needs. We just want to apologize; we’re not asking for anything else."

"If that’s all it is... we can help with that," Quan Yafeng eagerly agreed.

"Let’s just drop it for now and eat. I don’t want to put you guys in a tough spot. I get it; you’re his best friends, after all."

"Okay then."

Just then, a waiter began arranging the carefully prepared ingredients on their table and softly asked if they had any dietary restrictions.

After that, Jiangg Ning didn’t mention the apology again. Instead, she simply asked about Chen Yuan’s daily life and how the roommates had gotten along since the start of college.

The atmosphere in the private room grew much more relaxed.

Quan Yafeng and Wei Zhen weren’t as tense anymore. Neither of them were the scheming type to begin with.

After just a bit more conversation, their opinion of the sisters improved dramatically. They even started to think that the sisters weren’t the problem—that there must be some hidden reason for all this.

’Maybe this was all just a misunderstanding!’

’As his best friends, it was their duty to help Chen Yuan clear up this misunderstanding.’

「One hour later.」

Greasy-mouthed and with their stomachs starting to bulge, the two guys who had been gorging themselves on the meal finally expressed their willingness to help. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Really? Thank you so, so much! We don’t need anything else, just for you to save him a seat. You can leave the rest to us," Jiangg Ning said, overjoyed.

"That’s it? No problem!" Wei Zhen, his earlier resolve gone, patted his chest in assurance.

"You’re doing us such a huge favor, and we don’t really have a way to thank you. I’m not sure what you college guys like," Jiangg Yao said, pulling out some gifts she had prepared. "This PSP, I bought it on sale and never used it. Please, think of it as a little gift for you, Wei Zhen, for meeting us."

"Th-th-this... I can’t possibly accept this!" he stammered, overwhelmed by the gesture.

"And these limited-edition sneakers... Quan Yafeng, you play a lot of basketball, right? This is just a small token of my appreciation."

"No, no, no... I can’t accept this," the Boss waved his hands, refusing as well.

But the two sisters insisted, pressing the gifts into their arms, putting on a perfect display of consideration.

After this exchange, the two brothers were moved to tears, inwardly vowing to help this kind and understanding pair of sisters—all for the sake of their brother’s happiness.

...

「Five in the afternoon.」

Clutching their overstuffed stomachs, Quan Yafeng and Wei Zhen trudged back to the dorm, out of breath. The ever-so-thoughtful Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao had left halfway through the meal, leaving the two of them to keep gorging themselves for another two hours.

The two of them had never been so stuffed in their entire lives.

As they pushed open the door, Liu Nan, who had been lying on his bed idly scrolling through his phone, shot upright.

"Hey, where have you two been? I came back to the dorm a while ago and it was a ghost town."

"Nowhere special. Just went out to eat."

"What the hell, guys? You didn’t even invite me. I’m starving over here! It’s after five now, wanna go grab another bite with me?" Liu Nan grumbled.

"No need to go out. We brought you something," Quan Yafeng said, pulling out the leftovers he’d packed—free crab roe noodles from the Deep Sea Blue Whale restaurant—and tossing them onto the desk.

"Boss! Godfather! What is this? It smells amazing!"

"Crab roe noodles. They’re crazy expensive," Wei Zhen said as he struggled up his bed ladder. "We figured we couldn’t go out to eat and forget you, so we bought this especially for you."

"Holy shit, I’m so moved..."

"Don’t get all sappy. It’s what brothers do for each other—BURP!" Quan Yafeng let out a huge burp.
