Chapter 302: Appear

An hour later, Carla lay against Richard’s chest, trying to steady her uneven breathing.

She gazed at Richard’s face with a mixture of shyness and satisfaction.

"Did you enjoy it?" Richard asked.

"Yes..." she replied, her cheeks flushed.

"I want to stay in your arms forever," she whispered.

Richard smiled wryly upon hearing that and pinched her cheek.

"Forever is impossible, of course," he answered.

"Hehe, I was only joking." Carla laughed. "Can we do it again now?"

Richard, "..."

He hadn’t expected the woman to want him again so soon. After all, it had only been around ten minutes since they had finished.

But since she wanted to, how could Richard refuse?

He carried Carla into the bathroom, where they spent another intimate hour together before emerging clean and dressed in fresh clothes.

Afterward, Richard suggested that they go outside.

In the end, he didn’t feel safe remaining at his residence, worried that her grandfather might suddenly appear and beat him up.

Meanwhile, more people emerged from the World of Death’s gate as the remaining time grew shorter.

From the mountain belonging to the Order of the Crimson Veil, Richard could still see the gate.

He watched the ark of the Order of the Heaven Emperor emerge before immediately departing.

After that, he saw the members of the Skylight Clan led by Olivia.

Once they exited the gate, they surveyed the people gathered inside the city.

It was obvious that they had already heard about him.

After them, Richard spotted Gray appearing with a cold expression.

He looked at Olivia and smiled, causing her to knit her brows.

"Miss Skylight, you’ve become even more beautiful," he said, openly complimenting her.

The coldness on his face vanished the moment he spoke to such a beautiful woman.

The surrounding crowd exchanged glances at his words, while the Skylight Clan members frowned.

"Of course I’m beautiful," Olivia replied.

"Why? Have you fallen for me?" she asked with a charming smile as she flicked her pink hair.

Those who knew Olivia weren’t particularly surprised by her response.

She was somewhat flirtatious by nature and had once deceived Sean Thundervale with her charms.

"Who wouldn’t desire the young miss of the Skylight Clan? But I feel that I can’t approach you yet," Gray answered. "Of course, I believe that one day you’ll fall for me as well."

"It sounds like you’ve said that to every beautiful woman you’ve met," Olivia remarked.

"I only say it to express my sincerity," Gray replied.

"By the way, are you looking for your cousin?" he asked.

Rumors that Richard belonged to the Skylight Clan had spread long ago.

Those from powerful backgrounds naturally knew even more than that.

They were aware that Richard and Olivia shared fathers who were brothers.

"I am looking for him. Do you know where he is?" Olivia asked.

"I don’t. I’m looking for him as well," Gray answered.

"Why are you searching for him?" Olivia asked.

"I believe he’s the one who stole my fiancée away. That’s why I need to teach him a lesson."

"You’ve got quite the nerve." Olivia sneered. "Have you forgotten that you were nothing more than his dog?"

"Those words are excessive. But that’s also why I need to beat him up, so no one will ever say I was beneath him."

"Oh? How bold. You want to beat Richard? Do you really think you’re strong enough?" Carla suddenly appeared through one of her portals after leaving the mountain where she had been with Richard.

She couldn’t tolerate Gray’s words any longer.

"Carla..." Gray looked startled before frowning. "Why did you change your dress?"

His question surprised everyone, and they quickly realized that Carla’s dress was indeed different from before.

Her previous dress hadn’t been damaged inside the World of Death, so there had been no need to change it.

For Magi as powerful as they were, there was no concept of needing to bathe after physical activity.

Even if they became dirty, they could easily cleanse themselves with their own powers.

As the crowd observed more carefully, they noticed that her hair was still slightly damp.

Olivia let out a soft chuckle.

"Gray, oh Gray, you really should stop overestimating yourself. You can’t compete with my cousin when it comes to charm," she said mockingly.

Gray’s expression immediately darkened.

He had already arrived at his own conclusion.

Meanwhile, Carla couldn’t help blushing.

"That’s none of your business," she snapped while pointing angrily at Gray.

"Say one more time that you want to beat Richard, and I’ll make sure you don’t leave this place alive."

"Tell him to show himself, and I truly will beat him," Gray replied indifferently.

He appeared deeply resentful, as though someone had stolen away the greatest opportunity of his life.

"What’s wrong with you?"

At last, Richard stepped out through Carla’s still-open portal.

He looked at Gray with an odd expression.

"Boy, you’ve finally shown yourself," Gray said coldly as a sword appeared in his hand.

It was a golden sword marked with crimson lines.

Its aura overflowed with killing intent, spreading through the surroundings and seeping into the hearts of those nearby, instilling fear while Gray held it.

Naturally, it was a Tier 7 Weapon, something only Ancient Sovereigns could forge, and even then, only those among the stronger ranks of Ancient Sovereigns.

Richard’s expression became even stranger.

He could clearly sense Gray’s anger toward him.

"It seems you’ve been possessed by a demon," he remarked.

"Little brother, you’ve grown up so much."

Olivia suddenly walked over to Richard, stopping right in front of him before placing both hands on his shoulders.

"It’s been such a long time. Do you have any idea how much I’ve missed you?" she said, then unexpectedly pulled him into a hug.

The surrounding crowd was captivated by the sight.

Even though the two were relatives, it was still difficult not to feel jealous seeing a man embraced by someone as stunningly beautiful as Olivia.

However, Olivia was wearing armor, so Richard didn’t really feel anything.

"Ahem."

He cleared his throat.

"You’re making me embarrassed. And stop calling me little brother," Richard said.

"I’m your older cousin, so it’s only natural for me to call you little brother," Olivia replied as she released him from the hug.

A bright smile spread across her face as she continued,

"Besides, why be embarrassed? I’m sure you’ve already been hugged by plenty of beautiful women."

Richard, "..."
