Chapter 329: Chapter 329: Unequal Money

Yigol Novak hadn’t anticipated that Suri Drew would get up to leave.

He paused slightly, then hurriedly moved forward to step behind Suri.

He originally wanted to say something, but the moment he caught up with her, he noticed Suri throw him a glance.

Even though neither of them spoke, from that glance alone, Yigol knew what Suri was intending.

Therefore, at that moment, he blinked in a way that indicated he understood. On the other hand, Suri demonstrated extreme anger as she stormed out of there.

Yigol, on the other hand, put on a show of trying to stop her from leaving.

He quickly blurted out a few lines:

“All right babe, don’t be mad anymore, okay, let’s not get too worked up.”

“Oh babe, let it go, huh?”

He was embodying every bit of the “scared of his wife” stereotype.

However, Suri didn’t react to him at all and briskly left.

Mr. Cooper hadn’t expected that they would leave so quickly. He was somewhat startled and couldn’t believe what was happening right before him.

Hadn’t he done anything wrong?

He never imagined that Mr. Novak’s wife had such a volatile temper.

Furthermore, it seemed as if Mr. Novak was terrified of his wife. He treaded on eggshells around her and didn’t dare to go against her will in any way.

This was truly too strange.

The rumors he had heard before seemed off somehow.

But after careful thought, in those rumors, it was also mentioned that Yigol treated Suri extremely well.

Could this be his way of treating her well?

But the more he thought about it, the stranger it all seemed. They had just behaved with such cold indifference, hadn’t they?

Noticing Yigol coming back to him, he quickly approached and expressed his concerns.

“I am sorry if I upset your wife earlier.”

Upon hearing these words, Yigol just raised his hand and waved it off. “It’s fine, don’t worry too much. She’s got a bit of a temper.”

He looked nonchalant, nothing like the meek husband persona he had presented earlier. His tone was laced with a sense of challenge.

He seemed slightly annoyed, as if impatient.

The complete change in his demeanor after Suri left was indeed strange and bewildering for Mr. Cooper.

Mr. Cooper was confused to some extent.

However, he would not show his feelings openly.

After all, he was only interested in the couple’s money, not in the state of their relationship, so he wouldn’t meddle in their affairs.

He knew where to draw the line. Unless it concerned his investment, he wouldn’t concern himself with the details.

Yigol then sat down where he had just been sitting and began to explain. “Alright, let’s continue discussing the collaboration from before.”

Unexpectedly, he was still willing to continue discussing this matter with him.

“Actually, you don’t have to behave like this towards me…”

Seeing Mr. Cooper’s behavior, Yigol couldn’t help but speak his mind.

His strange remark delivered out of the blue puzzled Mr. Cooper. He didn’t know what Yigol was getting at.

He gently furrowed his brows and said,

“Pardon my ignorance, but I fail to comprehend what Mr. Novak is implying.” Hearing this, Yigol let out a deep sigh, shaking his head.

“As you saw earlier, truth be told, I am quite scared of my wife. It’s not for no reason; she is in control of a lot of our money.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Cooper was taken aback. He had never anticipated such a scenario.

The rumor about the filthy rich man being scared of his wife because his wife held most of his wealth, was something he had never heard before.

Hence, upon hearing it from the man himself, he was utterly flabbergasted.

He was stunned on the spot, as if he had just heard earth-shattering news, and didn’t utter a word.

Seeing Mr. Cooper’s reaction, Yigol knew he had achieved his goal.

This was precisely what he aimed to do.

Although this was probably not what they had agreed upon initially, he would certainly discuss it with Suri after returning and rectify it.

After quite some time, Yigol finally spoke again.

“Although I do have some loose change to spare, Suri is wealthier than me.

Thus, there are times I cannot make decisions on my own. Even in Harriet Bennett’s case, I had asked her to join me.”

He purposefully appeared extremely disconsolate.

This was quite a humiliating situation for just about anyone..
