Mythical Three Kingdoms
Chapter 1834 - 1695: Everyone Assembled (Part 2)
"But I feel perfectly fine now." Guo Jia attempted to escape, even though he knew the two in front of him were renowned physicians. He had no desire to accept treatment, and beside him, Fa Zheng was nodding vigorously like a pecking chick.
"Perfectly fine?" Zhang Zhongjing cast a glance at Guo Jia. "Fa Xiaozhi's wounds aren't severe, and the poisoning time is short; combined with his youth, he doesn't need much recuperation. Eventually, he'll naturally recover. As for you, you've been poisoned for years, damaging your foundation. Haven't you noticed that even slight movement causes you to sweat, with obvious symptoms of dizziness and fatigue?"
Guo Jia's complexion was somewhat pale, partly from fright and partly due to his body's deficiency in Qi. Hua Tuo had prescribed some restorative medicine and had his student supervise him for a period. Feeling almost recovered, he allowed Guo Jia to adjust himself further with nutritional food intake, but the results...
"If you want to avoid an early death, you'd better hurry up and expel the toxins in your body." Zhang Zhongjing said to Guo Jia.
As for Hua Tuo, he had lost interest in talking to Guo Jia. It wasn't that he couldn't cure him or that his prescriptions had issues, but Guo Jia himself was non-compliant; how could anyone treat such behavior?
"I'll prescribe a dose of medicine later." Seeing Guo Jia showing signs of repentance, Zhang Ji smiled.
"As for you, Fa Xiaozhi, you have rising internal heat. Eat less spicy food, and avoid boiled lamb, fish, and dog meat. Switch to mushrooms, and you'll recover after a while." Zhang Zhongjing glanced at Fa Zheng and remarked.
"Uh, this rising internal heat doesn't affect people much, right?" Fa Zheng inquired, pulling a wry face. Giving up lamb for mushrooms? You might as well kill me!
"Not much impact; your body is otherwise fine, young and vigorous. With rising internal heat, at most you'll experience dry mouth, tongue, and body heat in the initial prolonged period." Zhang Zhongjing commented calmly after glancing at Fa Zheng.
At this moment, Zhang Zhongjing finally understood why Hua Tuo disliked treating this group of people. None of them were easy to deal with: they would ignore his advice to take medicine properly and maintain nutritional intake for some time for full recovery, and instead they would stubbornly eat what should be avoided and reject what was necessary. Eventually, even the medicine was ignoredβhow could anyone possibly recover this way?
"Uh, then I'll just drink more water. I have nothing else, really." Fa Zheng spoke with a cheeky grin, glad to avoid medication.
Zhang Zhongjing glanced at Fa Zheng, "Get married sooner."
After that, Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing began to walk towards the camp, occasionally attending to illnesses along the way.
"What did he mean by that?" Fa Zheng asked in terror, "Does it mean I'm already doomed?" Then hurriedly chased after Zhang Zhongjing and Hua Tuo.
"Take your medicine regularly." Jia Xu patted Guo Jia's shoulder and said, "Otherwise, by the time I witness the Empire's flourishing, your grave might be lush with grass."
"You rascal!" Guo Jia shouted in anger, swinging his fist but utterly outmatched against Jia Xu.
"Later, I'll ask General Guan to make sure you finish your medicine." Having defeated Guo Jia with one arm, Jia Xu displayed no sign of being fifty.
When Chen Xi learned of the arrival of Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing, Sun Ce had already personally thanked Hua Tuo and Zhang Ji, and of course, also brought Zhou Tai to thank Liu Bei.
Upon witnessing this, Liu Bei merely smiled, congratulated Zhou Tai, and hoped Zhou Tai would fight for the nation, without displaying any superfluous expressions.
As for Li Youu's letter, Sun Ce recognized every single character, but when combined, Sun Ce couldn't make sense of what was being said. Naturally, he passed it on to Zhou Yu, who, after reading it, pondered for a while and ultimately agreed with Li Youu's proposal.
"Physician Hua, what brings you here?" Upon seeing them, Chen Xi clearly exhibited a look of surprise.
"Zhou Youping has awakened." Zhang Zhongjing concisely replied.
"Oh, great timing. Help me see if any of these people have any ailments." Upon hearing this, Chen Xi appeared mildly surprised but didn't dwell on it, instead inviting them to examine the group of civil officials that had come.
It didn't take Chen Xi long to gather everyone, and thus Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing began checking them one by one, just like during the previous examination of Liu Bei's civilian officials. Despite their appearance suggesting nothing was amiss, each actually had some issue.
"The genuinely healthy ones are only Gongjin, Marquis Chen, Jia Wenhe, Xu Yuanzhi, and Cheng Zhongde." Hua Tuo stated plainly, "However, Marquis Chen, you still have a tendency towards physical weakness."
"Understood." Chen Xi replied helplessly.
"As for the others, cease taking the Five-Stone Powder and any pills containing lead or mercury. Xun Wenruo, your incense is actually toxic; chronic exposure will impact your judgment as you age." Hua Tuo instructed while consulting his notebook.
Many present were skeptical, but Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing pointed out each individual's symptoms and flaws that even they hadn't noticed yet. Faces turned somewhat pale, and they hurriedly obtained the prescriptions crafted by Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing.
"Take your medicine on time and adhere to the dietary supplement regimen, and you'll recover swiftly. Fortunately, none of you are terminally ill, but Zhuge Kongming, Xun Wenruo, and Chen Changwen, the three of you need ample rest." Hua Tuo specifically highlighted these three, as each exhibited clear signs of fatigue brought on by chronic sleep deprivation.
Though all three managed their mental states through various means, Hua Tuo could readily discern the physical reactions they exhibited.
"As for Marquis Chen, you and Guo Fengxiao should increase physical activity, and not merely exercise your minds; your bodies require movement." Zhang Zhongjing remarked to Chen Xi and Guo Jia, as half of their issues stemmed from preferring lying down to sitting.
"Ahem, I'll do my best." Chen Xi responded awkwardly.
"What about the military generals? Let me have a look." Zhang Zhongjing inquired.
"Uh, they're likely at the Martial Arts Arena. Shall I take you there?" Chen Xi suggested, already aware of their intentions. "Oh, wait, could you also check on Cao Sikong when we encounter him?"
"Hmm, what's wrong with my lord?" Xun Yu turned to look at Chen Xi. ππΏπ²ππ°πππ§πππ²π₯.πππ
"Nothing really, just thought it convenient that Physician Hua and Dr. Zhang are both here. It wouldn't hurt to have everyone checked over, especially since Lord Xuande is always attentive, and definitely healthy; if Sun Bofu's formidable strength were compromised, we'd surely be doomed, so it's fitting to have Cao Sikong examined." Chen Xi answered casually, fabricating excuses effortlessly.
"Indeed, makes sense." Xun Yu agreed, nodding. "I'll accompany you."
"I'll also take a look." Zhou Yu, having interacted with several professional medical personnel recently, had acquired a proper understanding of medical practices, was keen on inviting Zhang Zhongjing back to Eastern Wu, but such matters often boil down to personal preference.
After all, with their current status, having eradicated typhoid and plague, these two are figures worthy of temple veneration, not even trading a position of Marquis with Qu Qi. If they genuinely don't wish to return, Zhou Yu had no feasible approach.
Chen Xi felt somewhat puzzled but remained silent. Ultimately, it seemed everyone shared the desire to join, and thus the whole group proceeded together.
At the Martial Arts Arena, Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing couldn't help but glance at Dian Wei training in a corner, with Xuu Chu right beside him. Their trusted aides, known as the Tiger Guard Army, were similarly burly men.
Moreover, as acquaintances, their relationships were amicable, and Dian Wei's Legion Talent was conducive for muscle-bound soldiers, so Xuu Chu joined him in training. Given it freed the muscle's power and Dian Wei's spare Talent, it allowed for added competence for Xuu Chu, reducing wastage.
Meanwhile, Cao Cao and Liu Bei were observing Dian Wei and Xuu Chu's practice. In general, the duo's training looked chaotic, yet given how capable their soldiers were in combat, Cao Cao and Liu Bei could only concede it was quite impressive.
