Chapter 347 (1): To Protect Londan from Being Destroyed by Demons, the Leading Demon Works Hard

“Alright, Śār Hesione. You spoke loudly, so I’d believe your conviction to exterminate demons. Tell me, what did the cathedral know?” Wayne asked while recording research data.

“I’m Mona, not some Śār!”

“Of course, Hesione.”

“...”

Hesione trembled with anger, but eliminating demons took priority. She tamped down her rage and said with a frosty expression, “Saint Paul’s Cathedral has sensed a demon’s descent, and the strong alert suggests that it is a formidable one.”

“That is unusual. Due to Heaven’s seal on Hell, the more powerful the demon, the greater the restriction they will be put under, and the weaker their power will be upon descent. The alert means that Hell has found a way to bypass the seal, allowing powerful demons to descend to the human world.”

Sounds troublesome.

Wayne put aside his urge to tease Hesione and addressed her seriously, “Does it have something to do with the Gate of Hell? Some time ago, I encountered an envoy from the Papal State, another angel reincarnated into the human world. He told me that His Hor—His Holiness had a nightmare about the Gate of Hell, startling him so badly that he could not go back to sleep.”

“I don’t think so. The Gate of Hell cannot open with Heaven’s unbreakable seal. I’m certain of it.”

Hesione shook her head before catching herself, adding, “I’m not a reincarnated angel. I’m Mona.”

“Really? Then why are you standing so far from me? Mona would be sitting on my lap already.”

Wayne pulled a chair over and took a seat, patting his thigh to tell Hesione to sit on him. If she did, she would be his secretary, Mona; if she didn’t, she had to be Śār Hesione. It was her decision!

Hesione glared at Wayne with dark, murderous intent. He scratched his head and gave her a shy look. “Oh? Do you want to eat me?”

The expression worked as well on Hesione as it did on Veronica. However, Hesione couldn’t control her body, so she could only watch as Mona and Wayne banded together to humiliate her.

She gasped for breath from anger, her full chest heaving in frustration. “Boss, the demon is more important. Let’s set out now.”

“You go ahead first. I have an experiment to conduct. Once you find the demon, have Mona notify me, and I’ll go there immediately.” Wayne didn’t take the demon as a serious threat. What if the demon was strong? Weakened as they were by the seal on Hell, they wouldn’t be Mona+Hesione’s match. It was very likely that when he rushed over, the clergy members would already be washing off the blood on the ground.

Hesione had not wanted to seek Wayne out to begin with, but Mona had forced her to come. After getting the go-ahead, she immediately scowled at Mona, telling her to do the right thing.

You don’t want to see the demon wreaking havoc in Londan, do you?

Though there was conflict between Mona and Hesione, they shared their hatred for demons. Any time demons appeared anywhere, they would put aside their differences immediately.

Mona took over, turning to leave.

“Wait.” Wayne stood up and came up to Mona, trapping her against the wall.

“It’s me, Boss.”

“I know.” Wayne lowered his head and nipped her bottom lip. “Go easy on her. You’ve been going too far recently. At the end of the day, you’re both mine.”

Is this part of your plan to tame the angel, Boss?

Hesione was about to nod in agreement when she heard Mona’s jealous thought. She raised her guard in horror. The terrible, repulsive, insolent, vomit-inducing Astral life was coming after her!

If Father had not moved to a greater dimension, leaving His heavenly might weaker than before, scumbags like Wayne would’ve been killed by a bolt of Holy Light from Heaven already.

***

Northern District, Londan.

The handsome noble scion, Milne, went on a shopping spree in the commercial district with two porters. He loved the thriving energy of the human world and the air of freedom. His heart, tainted by the Divine Comedy of the Seven Deadly Sins, thumped with excitement.

He wanted to create his own faith here.

He was neither a demon nor a pure angel. Since he had no place on either side, it was better to go independent.

That was proof that Milne had truly fallen. If he had pretended to defect due to the Lord of Envy’s superior power, he would have been planning on returning to Heaven. Or at least he should have killed the two familiars and headed to the Papal State alone to erase the scriptures of the Divine Comedy: Terrace of Envy with a Sacred Tome.

But he did neither. He had gone on a tour in the metropolitan Palis and only headed to Dulin, capital of the Republic of Erland, under Lucy and Dion’s urging. After some investigation, he confirmed that Wayne wasn’t the envoy of the Papal State but a member of the Ministry of Magic in Londan, Windsor. Only then did he go to Londan.

The Lord of Envy’s mission for him was to seek out Śār Hesione and make a high-definition, NC-17 recording of her and her man in action, sending it back to Hell so that the Lord of Envy could show it to the other demon lords to prove that he hadn’t lied, that the six other demon lords had denied his major finding out of jealousy.

If possible, Milne should lie low in the human world and wait for the Gate of Hell to open, guiding Hesione and her human boyfriend to Hell for a live show, featuring an angel’s fall in the human world.

It was such a petty mission that Milne felt no motivation, suspecting the Lord of Envy of corruption. What happened to his dream of taking out Pride to become the top demon lord in Hell? Why had he been doing nothing but pulling petty pranks?

While the mission was absurd, though, the main target of the mission held a high status. As a hellish angel who had been corrupted, Milne wanted to see the Chief Śār’s unbecoming side. That was his only drive to complete the mission.

Before that, he decided to enjoy the bustling activities in metropolitan Londan under the guise of collecting information.

Taking his two porters around, Milne continued his shopping spree. His eloquence and handsome looks won him free gifts no matter where he went.

The hellish angel had contracted the ailment of pride due to the corruption of the Divine Comedy, and his bold, undisguised actions soon attracted attention.

A black car pulled over, rolling the backseat window down. A capitalist holding a woman in each arm peeked out.

Forest, or the Lord of Pride roaming the human world.

Capitalists were basically demons; the title of capitalist fit Pride perfectly.

He was holding different secretaries again. The two women were both fresh graduates from art college, with no money, backing, or connections. As soon as they graduated from school, they became unemployed. While buying lottery tickets, they accepted Forest’s proposition and became his personal secretaries.

“That guy... I’ve seen him somewhere...”

Forest remembered him. Envy seemed to have brought him up a lot. It didn’t matter. He just knew that the man was a fallen angel in Hell.

Forest had no interest in Milne, but he was curious about why Milne had come to Londan. He glanced at the driver, signaling him to move the car slowly to Milne’s side. The car door to the passenger seat opened on its own.

While the two porters were none the wiser, Milne went still for a moment before becoming confused as well. He stiffly took the passenger seat.

“You’re Envy’s subordinate. Why did you come to Londan?” Forest asked bluntly.

“Under Lord Envy’s order, I’ve come to the human world to look for Hesione, the reincarnated Śār.”

Forest perked up immediately. “Oh, our old friend has come to the human world, too?”

“The Śār is in Londan. According to Lord Envy, she’s lost her purity for love. So he ordered me to...” Milne elaborated on his mission. Forest heard none of that except for the first few lines.

“Mona, the reincarnated angel I sealed up, turned out to be Śār Hesione...” Forest murmured to himself. After a brief moment of shock, he was overwhelmed with glee. He broke out laughing with his secretaries in his arms, almost doubling over in laughter.

Because of his seal, Śār Hesione had lost her purity. It wasn’t part of his plan, but the unintended surprise made him even more ecstatic.

What trouble could the Lord of Pride be up to? He had only wanted to sabotage the descent of the seven reincarnated angels, and before Mona reincarnated, he hadn’t looked into who the angel was. He didn’t expect his carelessly inflicted seal to put his old friend in such a terrible situation.

“Then let’s make things worse!” Forest grinned at his two secretaries before slapping his thigh in frustration. “I almost foiled my own plan. The seal works on regular angels, but not the Śār. Once she acquires the Blood of Heaven, she will slowly awaken until she takes back control...”

“That won’t do. If I let you take back control, my seal would be for naught!”

Forest narrowed his eyes, glinting with golden light containing a hint of holy intention. Sensing that the seal had wavered, he said in surprise, “She has acquired divine blood...”

“This is bad. A regular human cannot resist the impact of the Śār’s long years of memories. Hesione’s influence will slowly change her reincarnated self...”

Forest’s heart thumped from the close call. If not for Envy’s ridiculous plan sending him an important piece of information, Hesione would’ve gotten what she wanted. He would enhance the curse as soon as he returned home to make sure that the human retained herself.

It would be dull for her to turn back halfway through her fall!

“Kekekeke—”

Forest kept laughing, anticipating the future more and more. He would not intervene with the world because surprises were much more entertaining. If he found anyone or anything that piqued his interest, he wouldn’t mind nudging things toward the developments he wanted.

At that moment, the Lord of Pride experienced the joy of being the Heavenly Father!

Forest was in a hurry to go back home and bind Hesione further. He frowned at Milne and said, “Envy’s plan is too dull. As a demon lord from Hell, it’s beneath him to seek entertainment for himself rather than world domination.”

Milne nodded blankly before he said, “Though I agree, it’s the Śār we’re talking about, not a regular angel. Seeing her fall would be better than world domination.”

Makes sense, but the entertainment should be exclusively mine to enjoy!

Forest huffed. What gave Envy the right to enjoy the same fun as he did?
