Chapter 1466: How Long Together
When they spoke these words, they all avoided Qingyu.
But unexpectedly, Qingyu heard everything.
Arnold Simmons walked over and stood with Hannah.
Sixth Hoffman was the first to react, exclaiming in the same surprise as Gregory Lawrence, "Damn, what’s all this about?"
It was clear at a glance that they were a couple!
Hannah took the initiative to introduce him, "This is Arnold Simmons."
That was the first part of the sentence.
Before saying the second part, Hannah took Arnold’s hand.
The kind that locked fingers together.
"He is my boyfriend."
This sentence slightly dispelled some of the unease in Arnold’s heart.
"Boy... boyfriend?" Sixth Hoffman’s eyes widened.
Gregory Lawrence thought it was time to back up his brother.
So he also jumped in, "Yes, Arnold and Hannah have been together for quite a while now."
Sixth Hoffman asked, "How long?"
Longer than the time he’s known Qingyu?
Gregory Lawrence counted and with great authority held up a finger, "One month!"
Yes, that’s right, no mistake.
In Gregory’s memory, Arnold had appeared by Hannah’s side back in Sector 9.
From then to now, it had just been one month.
Hannah sighed, holding her forehead.
Arnold also fell silent.
Sixth Hoffman turned to look at Hannah, "Boss, are you serious?"
Hannah explained, "Arnold definitely is my boyfriend, and as to how long we’ve known each other, I can’t really explain it in just a sentence or two."
Indeed, she couldn’t be clear.
Including the time in Blue Star, it should be five years.
Qingyu’s complexion turned pale in an instant, and he couldn’t help coughing while covering his chest.
Gregory Lawrence, who was right beside him, was startled by Qingyu’s reaction, "Hey, hey, are you okay? I’m telling you, don’t fake being sick, that’s not right."
Qingyu just waved his hand.
Hannah quickly asked Sixth Hoffman to pour him some water.
Sixth Hoffman was clumsy, and before he could hand it over, he’d spilled half of it; Hannah quickly reached out to catch it.
Somebody had spread a soft cloth on the ground, and they helped Qingyu to sit down.
Hannah knelt in front of him, handing him the water bottle, "Look at you, with your health, and yet you still insisted on coming along."
Qingyu clutched his chest, his lips turning bright red from the fierce coughing, "Sorry, my fault."
"I didn’t say it was your fault." Hannah was about to reach out to search him for his medication, but remembering that Arnold was still there, she quickly withdrew her hand, "Do you have your medicine with you?"
Qingyu, noticing Hannah’s motion, looked down with tightly pursed lips, "I have."
Hannah reminded him, "Remember to take your medicine."
"Mm."
Qingyu took out two brown pills from a small cloth bag hanging at his waist and swallowed them with water.
After taking his medication, his complexion looked a little better.
...
Late, Hannah pulled Arnold aside.
She explained, "Qingyu was someone I rescued before."
Arnold looked into her eyes.
The sky had already darkened, and a fire had risen in the distance.
Everyone was chatting, with Gregory Lawrence and Sixth Hoffman’s voices the loudest.
Gregory kept saying he found Sixth Hoffman familiar but couldn’t remember where he had seen him before.
Sixth Hoffman just chuckled and did not reveal his identity because Hannah had asked him not to.
The crowd behind them was noisy, but Arnold seemed very quiet.
He nodded softly and responded in a low voice, "Mm."
Hannah felt that, in that moment, Arnold seemed like a wronged wife.
So now it was her turn to soothe him.
She thought for a moment, and the only phrase that came to mind was one very cliché, "There’s nothing between him and me."
No sooner had she spoken the words than Arnold’s gaze became fixed.
