Chapter 1498: Chapter 1498: Doing It Right

The scene before her was a bright red blur, driven only by instinct.

Someone saw her, screamed, and dodged away, then brought more people.

They cursed her as a "demon."

They chased her away with stones and torches.

"So disgusting, how can someone be so cruel!"

"She is no longer our princess; she’s a disaster!"

"Drive her away; it’s because of her that our planet will be destroyed!"

Larger stones were thrown at her.

Hannah kept backing away, waving her hands, tears and blood mixing together, "I’m not, I’m not, I’m just too hungry. I’m not a demon, I’m not..."

With a weak voice, she retorted, incessantly wiping her tears and shaking her head in desperate denial.

"You are a demon, just like your father, a sinner of this planet!"

Adults and children alike picked up long sticks and struck her hard.

Their unabated hatred fell entirely on Hannah.

On the day of Hannah’s birth, the old king prophesied that she would be the future of the whole planet and would lead her people to new heights.

But on the day the planet was destroyed, this prophecy became a curse.

She was no longer the future of Southport.

She was the sinner of Southport.

Even though two years had passed, the curses still occasionally appeared in Hannah’s dreams.

She didn’t like them, but she couldn’t escape.

Outside, the fight continued, and those who had initially chosen to watch for self-preservation also rushed out.

It seemed that compared to the beasts from the north, people found it easier to slaughter each other. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Those waving sharp knives were saying that humans are not the most terrifying creatures in this world.

Archer had also awoken.

There was a noise from the hidden door behind him.

Hannah quickly ran over and opened the secret door.

Archer was still in the same outfit, just without his coat.

The clothes inside were relatively clean, an all-black outfit.

Archer was tall, at least from Hannah’s perspective, towering a full head above her.

She only reached his chin.

The recently awakened boy’s eyes showed no signs of tiredness; they were very clear.

Like a night washed by water.

"Did you lock the door?"

The boy looked down at the small girl in front of him.

His tone was not accusatory, just inquiring.

Hannah clasped her hands together, her eyes round and clear, "I didn’t mean to."

She was just worried that Archer might sneak away.

But that was not what Archer was thinking.

"Don’t you trust me?" he perceived that the girl was still wary of him.

This was right; he was a stranger after all.

So, he wanted to praise her, "You did very well."

Huh?

Was Archer praising her?

"Are you not angry?" being locked in a small room.

Hannah was curious.

The two clearly were not on the same wavelength, misunderstanding each other’s intentions.

"No," Archer shook his head, "you did the right thing, you should do the same with others."

Maintaining vigilance towards strangers, don’t worry about it being impolite; you are just protecting yourself.

Hannah thought about it seriously and then obediently nodded, "Okay."

The little girl’s perception was distorted.

In her mind, Archer must like being locked up by her.

So, she could do this in the future too.

Bang—

A muffled sound came from outside the door, as if someone had been forcefully thrown to the ground.

Archer frowned and walked over, "What’s happening outside?"

"They’re fighting."

Like a form of amusement, Hannah tiptoed, stepping on Archer’s shadow.

Thinking she was still the same as before.
