Chapter 2885: The Primordial Beast Nidhogg II
"A walking calamity. This is the first time it has ever happened for a raid boss. Usually, even descended gods can only do one thing at a time in their true form." Adrian stated as he looked at the video being shared by the players that are participating in the raid.
The Primordial Beast Nidhogg is very different from other raid monsters because it can actually attack, cast spells, defend, and move at the same time. Raid monsters usually have trigger intervals that will only make it trigger specific skills when specific actions or interactions are done. Adrian is now assured that this might be the reason why even the mother tree is unable to actually deal with the Primordial Beast Nidhogg.
"It has already evolved into a beast that defies the common sense of raid bosses. What prompted it to suddenly evolve like that? The mother tree told us that it can still hold the Primordial Beast Nidhogg for at least a decade but that suddenly turned into something else." Adrian stated as he suddenly sensed a presence that is foreign from the energies in the area.
"I will deal with that. You should help our guild members in defeating the Primordial Beast Nidhogg." Levin Cloud stated as he suddenly got up and woke up from his sleep.
"You were not really asleep are you." Adrian stated.
"I was communing with the spirits of nature." Levin Cloud replied with a serious tone but Adrian could see through that crap and he just wanted to rest.
"Whatever makes you happy and makes you sleep well at night. Can you deal with it on your own?" Adrian asked.
"I can. If it was in another place then I might not be as confident but this is a place where the world tree is planted. I can deal with that suspicious thing on my own so do not worry." Levin Cloud stated as he became vines and vanished into the floor.
"Since he left without even saying goodbye, I should at least stretch and wake those people up." Adrian stated as he poked the Evergreen guild members that fainted because of what happened earlier.
Adrian summoned Wisteria in her smaller form and told her to wake them up. Wisteria shimmered and released some sort of mist filled with natural aromatherapy which woke up the Evergreen guild members that were knocked out. The Evergreen guild members were a bit embarrassed as they were sleeping on the job but Adrian told them that they are free to go since he will be joining the fight.
"We should also join as well." One of the Evergreen guild members stated.
"No. You guys should do this..." Adrian stated as he told some tips to the Evergreen guild members. He also made sure to create a barrier that negated sound leakage to make sure that what he told them will not be heard if there is someone trying to sneak in.
Adrian has this suspicion that all of this is orchestrated since the Primordial Beast Nidhogg suddenly became stronger. If there is an organization or a mastermind behind it then they could have already started to move. The one that triggered the evolution of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg must have thought that they would see the beast in a more powerful state since it should have devoured the mother tree first.
"They should be panicking about now since their plans suddenly got twisted because the worlds fused. Even I am actually quite shocked that the spell worked perfectly. The only downside is that..." Adrian muttered as he looked at the notification.
[The world needs to rest for at least half a year for another world fusion to occur.]
A notification popped up for him and Levin Cloud that they cannot attempt another world fusion in a short time. It seems even the world needs a cooldown in order to make sure that they world fusion will not have any danger or potential issues. He is actually quite glad that most of the land area and unique things in Alfheim were all transferred here in Neo Alfheim.
"I am pretty sure that the elementals and the Faekin will fight for territory here but that is no longer my concern. Anastacia will be able to handle that perfectly as she is very capable." Adrian stated.
"Hachoo!" Anastacia suddenly sneezed.
"Sorry! Did you inhale some of the pollen dust attached to my body?" Mariposa asked as Anastacia suddenly sneezed when she was beside her.
"No. I think someone was just saying something about me. I also want to hit someone for some reason. Never mind that... we should focus on the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. We need to deal with it now or else it will devour the world tree as it is eyeing it." Anastacia stated as this was one of the scenarios that Adrian told them that could happen if the Primordial Beast Nidhogg spawns near Neo Alfheim.
"I guess I should already start my advance then. If it cannot be dealt with elemental attacks then an army should suffice." Mariposa stated as her eyes glowed as she signaled the army she has cultivated.
The ground started to rumble as numerous ant monsters that were burrowed came out and marched towards the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. It is not just ants but the sky suddenly looked like it was blotted with dots. A loud buzzing sound also resonated with the surroundings as numerous bee monsters emerged from the forest.
An army of ant monsters and bee monsters appeared in an instant. The Evergreen Guild’s territory is actually quite coveted of a lot of guilds but they never lost a defensive battle. The reason for that is due to the fact that they cultivated an army of insect monsters with Mariposa at the helm. She is half of the siege defense power of Neo Alfheim herself as she commands insect queen monsters.
She might have sacrificed some of her soulbound slots to have contracted insect queens which is difficult to handle and raise well but the investment is worth it. The Evergreen guild’s main advisor and strategist Mariposa has maximized her combat ability to heights unknown. She might not be the guild leader but she is someone that can easily overpower an army of a hundred thousand on her own.
The ant and bee army charged towards the Primordial Beast Nidhogg without regard for their life. Some of them burned before even getting close but some managed to pierce the Hellion Sandstorm. The Elemental Disruption is of no effect on them since they are not using any elemental magic. The Primordial Beast Nidhogg did not care when the ant and bee army managed to penetrate the Hellion Sandstorm as their feeble attacks barely tickled it.
Mariposa is seeing all of this unfold and her lips curved into a smile because the Primordial Beast Nidhogg is underestimating her army. She already expected such a thing because powerful monsters tend to be arrogant and think that everything is beneath them. Still, they should know that even an ant can take down an elephant if there are lots of them.
The ant monsters tunneled beneath the ground and started to climb onto the body of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. The ants that managed to cling stared biting the flesh of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. Some ant monsters died from trying to bite the Primordial Beast Nidhogg as the latter’s body is incredibly tough but they did not care.
Ant monsters formed a line and bit the same area over and over again even if they died. The persistence of the ant monsters finally broke through when about a three thousand have sacrificed themselves. The flesh of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg finally appeared which the ant monsters then proceeded to bite. The searing pain of an ant bite layered with minor toxin is felt by the Primordial Beast Nidhogg which made it stomp its feet.
The ant monsters were not the only ones that dared to stop the Primordial Beast Nidhogg on its tracks. The bee monsters flew incredibly close to the Primordial Beast Nidhogg even if their bodies disintegrated from more exposure of the Hellion Sandstorm. Still, some of the bee monsters were lucky or rather they formed a sacrificial army that will take on the Hellion Sandstorm while those at the back will do the command issued by their queen.
When the bee monsters reached the eyes of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg, all of them used their stingers to poke the primordial beast. The only problem is that the Primordial Beast Nidhogg’s eyes is protected by a layer of skin that is as hard as a diamond. In the end, the bee monsters only annoyed the Primordial Beast Nidhogg instead of dealing damage to it.
The bee monster’s chance came when the Primordial Beast Nidhogg became erratic from the pain of being bitten by ants. The open wound of the ants suddenly became the new target practice of the bee stingers. The bee monsters dove to their deaths as they left their stingers on the exposed flesh of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg.
